Hullo Harry, I have been given a few different graphite pencil sets over the years and I have to say Faber Castell puts together the best sets! I know that you can find some of these supplies separately for a lesser cost. I don’t believe that you can compile the entire list of supplies separately for less money. I have seen sets sold for a premium price, I caution all consumers to be aware and look for the lowest price especially on Amazon! Some sellers are only out to rip people off! Price gouging is a very real thing. Be aware and shop around!
Harry, I have been watching your videos for quite some time. I have never considered you to be a slacker, never! Please put your family as well as yourself FIRST! You provide an amazing service and you have always been up front with your reviews and I say honesty is always how I find you and your thoughts or opinions! Please post videos when you can, I believe that we can wait, be patient enough for you to create a review and an Artwork to show your viewers how to use these supplies. I have found you to be an astonishing artist and a truly quality person. Apologize or don’t your subscribers are aware that life is not easy for anyone. We do appreciate you and all that you do for all of us, thank you. I do remember when I could not afford top quality art supplies, so I have relied upon graphite for creating art and pencils are so affordable. When you have to use your money to the best effect, pencils can be an awesome art supply and affordable too! I say never skimp on your surface (paper) I have made the mistake of cheap paper and I will never do so again. Thank you for sharing all of your thoughts on these supplies.

Don't think I've ever seen someone do such an extensive review on UA-cam for graphite pencils. Thanks for the review, looks like nice set. I like Faber-Castell erasers they're great and I love using their clutch pencils.

I love to use the jumbo pencils for sketching because I have a death-grip and the bigger barrel prevents me from doing it. :) I can get much looser with the fatter pencils.
The makeup brushes are great for blending (and getting rid of pencil crumbs as well), so I keep a small and cheap set with my pencils.
I mainly use the kneadable eraser to lighten up sketches before applying paint. If you roll it around on top of the sketch gently, it will lift some of the graphite. But the FC one is truly the best out there. For precise erasing I prefer the Tombow Mono Zero with the small, round head or my brandless electric eraser.
The Caran d'Ache palette is a total MUST HAVE for water soluable pencils. I hesitated buying it, because I didn't know it has a smooth and a rough side, but you have talked about it in an earlier video and that convinced me. I have been using it mainly with my Inktense pencils and Neocolor II crayons since and it's great for both.

No need to apologise Harry, we understand. Great review, I have a smaller set so it was nice to see the differences between them.

I’ve enjoying this set for a few years now: it’s a dream for any graphite lover. The softer pencils run out quickly, but can be purchased open stock easily, so you always have your box complete. On the other hand, the woodless pencils and the sticks last a long time, even if you use them a lot. For water soluble graphite I also prefer a water brush, because I have more control of it, so I reserve the traditional brush for other techniques and I’ve replaced it in the box with a 3B pencil. You made a wonderful artwork with these supplies! 😍

Thank you so much for your kind words and you are so right in that all of the products can be replaced open stock, I had forgotten to include this in my written review so have done it now thanks to your excellent comment.

Thank you so much, Harry. We love seeing you again. Please don't apologize for not giving us enough content. I love your videos and look forward to them but as a fellow creator, I know it isn't always easy to keep putting out new things - especially when you aren't up to it. You always do your best for us and it is always appreciated. I have most of the pieces included in this set from separate purchased over the years and I believe you are correct in saying that Faber Castell never disappoints. Their supplies are always top notch and fun to create with. Have a wonderful day and thank you again. The drawing is wonderful and inspiring.

For real light blending and simultaneously spreading graphite around I love to use Tissue like Kleenex with lotion or without works well too. It’s really nice for softening your lines if you’re building up value as well as detail depth. I also love using blending stumps for more detailed blending as well as for applying graphite details that are softer.

Sorry if I missed it but what paper are you using?

    • @TheArtGearGuide

The paper I used was Strathmore 400 Series Bristol Velum. Quite a smooth paper but just enough tooth to build up a few layers. I love Strathmore paper and think it is well priced for the quality of paper you get.

I like this set but it's way too expensive in my country. Almost 50 euro is ridiculous when you consider that a single Castell 9000 pencil retails for 1,20. I'm pretty sure I could get more value from my money by buying the individual pieces that I need

What? There is no Graphite Matt out of 26 Pieces?
