the comb should be in front of the flat iron to help separate your strands so the get more heat

Thanks for this video! Lol we have the same iron. And I do the root thing too lol. I recently started doing hot oil treatments before the freon condition. My curls are very tight though 3c/4a, so I use round brush to blow dry. And to not damage I pass the flat iron 7 times over the roots quickly and once over the shaft of the hair slowly.

I don't use any products before I put heat on my hair not even those heat protection products and I never get heat damage (thank god) but idk it might be because of my hair type I have very weird and different hair I never seen anyone with my hair.
You must have coarse hair.

Hey! My hair texture is similar to yours.. and I think we have the same flat iron! Curious as to what heat setting you use? I'm always skeptical of turning it up too hot. Would really appreciate an answer! Btw you're gorgeous!
+Popskittle I had it on 410 🙈 Probably shouldn't of had it that high, but yeah. Start it at like 315 and if it straightens it without you having to go over your hair repeatedly you should be good. If you have it low, but go over the same peice like 20 times it kinda defeats the purpose. Try to find the lowest setting that'll allow you to get your hair straight with no more than two swipes
I use the lowest setting and I def normally have to go over it multiple times, but was always kinda afraid it would ruin my curls if I went too high.. But you're right, defeats the purpose if I keep on going over it, esp since I still don't get it as smooth as I would like. Thanks a lot for the response!!
girl let me tell you I got thick wavy heavy unmanageable hair bug I have a Remington that goes up to 455 and better believe is all the way up lol cause I've used it on 450 it would be a good hour or 2 lol now with 455 it takes me 10/20 minute

I don't know why, but girls who have super kinky hair that straighten their hair, their edges(that you can tell that you have natural curly hair) makes the girls look a lot prettier to me. I'm probably weird, but love kinky curly hair cx

Whenever I wash my hair and I comb through it when the conditioner is my hair I get rid of the knots but then before I go to bed I usually put it in a braid to avoid knots but I always get tangles and knots in like 30mins-1hour...I don't know what to do with my hair

You have gorgeous hair and such a great personality! Also with the comb trick, you're supposed to put the comb in front of the straightener to stretch out any extra shrinkage.

me personally I use very little coconut oil for shie and frizz control and i grab a brush and follow the brush with the flat iron to ensure I dont need to go over it a second time. That's just me though.
