If you could go back 60 years in time, you'd see a little lad (me) with curly hair running about on the beach, we stayed in a bungalow on the edge of this park,... it was Butlins in those days.. unfortunately I think our old bungalow has been knocked down now to make room for new chalets. 😕 Happy memories though! 👍
Some of Primrose Valley is built on the old Butlins Filey site. Adventure Me’s Darren did a brilliant 3 part series explaining it all and using old and current maps to see what is where. By the main entrance there used to be a railway station across the road, the tunnel under the road is there but filled in now, the platforms have been demolished. In the 80’s Butlins Filey was the largest holiday park of its kind. Hafan Y Mor was also a Butlins, I worked there in 1996.
Thanks for this vlog Carla,as I was thinking of having a short break at Primrose Valley,I wanted to bring back happy memories I spent there in the months of June-Sept,in the '80's,as my mother had a caravan on the site,We spent a glorious summer there,as then it was a great holiday park, and I see now lots of new places have been added too..
I love going to primrose valley, so much to do!! But there’s also loads to do outside of the park, we often go to places like sewerby hall, brid animal park or sealife! But there’s loads to do outside the park and inside the park really!💗
Hi, Found this very informative for anyone choosing where to visit, our kids love Primrose Valley, tho we've not been for a few years, quite a few changes since our last visit, our favourite Haven parks are Hafan-y-mor in North Wales, Devon Cliffs & Primrose Valley, we've done a fair few of them but tend to always return to our favs, lovely video, many thanks for sharing. 👍😊
Thank you so much, ahhh yes Hafan-Y-Mor is one of our faves xxx It has changed a lot, we love it but it is rather pricey now compared to what it used to be xxx
As being someone who's been going to primrose valley since I was 2 I love this video on seeing new people.enjoy primrose much as I do! M u great uncle bought our caravan over 15 years ago so ours is a lot less modern and slightly smaller but it's really just the nostalgia for me. Definitely one downside a few years ago Wi-Fi got changed and doesn't work unless in open space anymore. The entertainment is a big yes! It's ama,ing , I there are two entertainment lounges within a specific *owners* longs but doesn't get checked really. Anyways hope you enjoyed you r stay!! Your family is beautiful you should come back again🙈
Thank you so much, we loved it there. Definately one of our favourites. Yes the WiFi situation was a little annoying. We now have a caravan and paid someone to fit the Internet, if not those boxes are good but you would have to top up. With the pne we had fitted we can stream no matter where we are so might be worth considering xxx
Stayed there many moons ago when my mum was alive I stayed in a chaley for a week there was jelly fish on the beach n been to prestatyn sands in n North Wales twice
My mum would take me here in the early 80s i loved the place sadly mum is no longer here to share those wonderful memories 😢but i did return for my 50th with my family & it brought a tear to me eyes walking around with my 4 yo son just like i did with my mum 🙏 i always knew I'd return someday & now I'm hooked i feel a sense of belonging here in this neck of the woods! I have so many happy memories here even seeing my mum win great granny competition in the old cabaret which is still in use to this day i was pleased to see which i still have the photo which is now framed 🙏... 🏴🤝🏴
Aww looks lovely! We're off to primrose in a few weeks for the first time, so really good vlog to watch 💖 Hafan y mor is one of our faves, that's a pretty big site as well x
Hi Lauren, awww thank you lovely. We loved it, i think you will too. Oooo i love Hafan, i defo need to film that one soon too. xxx I think that one is my favourite xx
😢 Carla, absolutely amazing made me an emotional wreck watching your video back in 2022, can't wait for our 2 week holiday to Primrose Valley, When we started our Haven Holidays getaways we did Blue Dolphin 💙 but haven't been back since stopping at Primrose Valley 🎉 ❤ x would definitely recommend this site!
Thanks for doing this appreciate it. I’m in the middle of trying to pick a haven and was looking at primrose. We have a 2 and a 8 year old so it seems good for them. We also like exploring nearby towns / cities so what’s Scarborough like and any other town close by worth visiting? We stayed at Cala gran last year which was obviously close to Blackpool.
It was great we loved thos Haven. Loved the beach too, when are you thinking of visiting? Scarborough wasn't actually as close as we thought, I believe its around 1 hour away. Xx
We are going mid July. I’m sure I read somewhere Scarborough was around 20/30 mins away. Must have flown😂. Can’t decide but it looks massive compared to Cala gran
17 mins…now that might make me book. We like to be fairly close to a big town just to break up the week. Yeah it was good. Pool really quite small but couldn’t really find fault with the caravan and the site. Primrose looks so much bigger
I wouldn’t bother having a meal at the Wetherspoons it might have been a off day we were there was flys on the food wouldn’t be in a rush to go back that’s for sure.
Yes, you do for swimming because it's free it can get full quickly, for the other activities you could risk it and wait but there might not be space available xx
