I am an actor and content creator with Hollywood credits including roles on Lucifer (Netflix), Starlight Christmas (Hallmark), JT Leroy (Universal Studios), etc. In this channel, I offer insight to Kpop performances using my 10+ years of training in dance, acting, singing and overall performance. In dance, my forte are contemporary and musicals and have done most of my performances in theatre. Although my channel is mostly known for dance analysis, I am currently inactive in the dance community.

95% of people who hate this dance performance aren't dancers themselves and will ALWAYS say negative things about Kpop idols regardless if they're trainees or debuted artists.
Fr like I wanna see them try to dance that. Also it's been like two years since then so they have most likely improved a lot.
I overall agree but at the same time people are allowed to not like a performance without being a pro in the field. It's no different than someone not liking a song. Most people who listen to music in general aren't musicians anyway

It's obviously a monthly evaluation years back. I believe there's more they could offer. This is just a teaser though. YG's not known to focus on choreography. It just started with Treasure so yeah as a yg stan, I'm proud of these girls and they're good to me. haters gonna hate but yg artists swag will never be taken away from them.

Yep. There is no mixed fellings. It is just the haters. YG stan will always support YG Artist. Also, i read somewhere that it is filmed 2 years ago. Just like Blackpink they only release the monthly evaluation - the b*tch better have my money perfomance.

The dance performance was recorded 2 yrs ago for a monthly valuation that's why there are two members who aren't part of it.Just imagine how they've grown over the yrs with that skills and talent.They were dancing with their own style without minding if they're in sync or not and that's so yg 🤣
Lol, I've read those 'unsatisfied' comments, and Idk why they are expecting them to dance a robot-like synchronization in the first place. Like, that's not so YG, and this is sooo much better. Them having their own style rather than every single one being tailor-fit for a single one where they can't express theirs. People are just cautious and triggered, seeing they're talented af.
Shout it so that those haters can hear lol! Yg dance is not about being synchronize but more relying in charisma and impact they have different styles but when mixed to one they complement to each other like ingredients lol anyway, so I agree with you
some idols are in sync but the expression is alcking because to much focusing on the chore to much and left the facial expression and the feels of the choreo part.
actually this is much better, cause here we can see how the most of them are fluid and have swag at dance than others groups where everybody is synchronized but individually just two of them are strong at dance

It was Lee Jung who choreographed it that's why it's really giving YGX vibes. And you're right, it's a monthly evaluation that's why the two Thai members (Canny and Pharita) aren't on the video yet. I think they joined just 2 years ago??? And I read somewhere that this video was filmed 2 years ago.
yes, some say they haven't joined yet and some say the Thai members are in another group with ex trainees.

@@baemonstrous i don't think it was in 2018. Canny and Prita have vids way back 2019 and 2020 doing their own thing. Prita modeling, Canny joing dance cover contests.
the dance performance is from 2020 and was choreographed by lee jung !! that’s also why there are only 5 members, the other two (the thai members canny and phrita joined yg later) !! i think yg is making good moves by first showing us something old so then when they will show us something more new we can see their actual improvement through the years and not just their already extremely skilled version of themselves, i honestly like this !!
Idk I was pretty impressed by this when I saw this , I also like the more masculine style the choreography has like we don’t usually see girl groups dance like this as much
I think the member you really like in the front other than Ahyeon is Ruka, she's a japanese member and she's the oldest, I think she's 02 liner. She's a possible main dancer.
yes, ruka is 20 (turning 21 in march) and she was a hip hop dancer in a japanese group before joining YG!

They're pretty good, in hiphop unless you're doing breakdance you don't need to fly with acrobatic steps, hiphop is about to vibe, the swag and attitud, people is forgetting the basic imo.
Yg next movement video show how hard they were dancing...these videos are their monthly evaluation videos...and they slayed yg back then😭
It really impress me from the very 1st watchand I also noticed "Ruka" the one youre pointing out more. She has the swag and sharpness on her movement like its natural for her to bust a move like that. The mixed reactions is only the haters. Theyre afraid of this monsters

Love the reaction and the inputs as usual Jeff. As per the mixed reactions, people just love to nitpick. Considering this was recorded 2 years ago, this performance was lit. Those who say this wasn’t solid are really just baby bra warriors who love to be critical of everything. Baemon won’t be competing in World Hiphop Championship or what not, so I am very satisfied with this. This is clearly more of a preview of what they can bring to the table and for KPop GG standards, this is pretty damn good. Again, they were still trainees here.
Shin haram is a princess when singing but turn into a monster when dancing lol all of them thay so cool.... BTW love the way you describe all of there dancing skill

People who criticize this dance performance are people who don't know the complicity/technicality of dancing and fails to appreciate old school hip hop. They're so used to what they see in kpop today that they consider this performance bad/underwhelming cuz it's not what they're used to and what they're expecting.

I don't think YG has centers tho, like in an MV there will ve a center in the begining and one in the end, at least that's what I see in Treasure
@@brendav4695 In YG usually the rappers are the centers even if it is not official and this group particularly has an odd number of members so that's what rumours say but who knows actually.
Im seeing a lot of articles and videos saying that people are disappointed or dont like the dance performance and i just dont get it. First of all, i can see that a lot of them just want to criticize everything and second, this performance is around 2 years old, the girls probably have improved a lot. Anyways i think they did great, obviously everyone can give their opinion, i will root for them regardless and i cant wait to see their most recent performances to see their true potential
but the funny one i read some blinks saying bp 2016 is more powerful and hard choreo like I also watched that this BM dance performance for me has more technicalities and difficulties into it and you can literally comapre each other side by side bp choreo they did in 2016 is so easy and many beginner can replicate that move unlike this need more training

Same. I also don't get them. I watched the dance performance for so many times, trying to find the parts where they aren't synchronized since many people said they aren't synchronized and are bad dancers, but I can't find it. HEEELP!!! I'm really trying my best to understand their opinions.
Most of the people who hate it are Hybe Stans, checked Twitter and stalk them. They are mostly Hybe Stans aka New Jeans Stans.

But I already did see pharita solo performance before like Ahyeon but I don't know if YG would use that video. 🤔😎

I loved their dancing -- it was actually dancing and not just trying to look cute // the only thing that would make it better is a little more synchronization and the clothing does need updating but I think they made it really generic in clothing so you would concentrate on their dancing and dance style. Thanks for covering them. I look forward to watching them progress as a group.

I understand the sentiments of other that they should release a more sleeker dance performance but they must consider YG's strategy. Coz for what I think, they are releasing their old monthly evaluations for us to know how they improve thru out up to their present performance as official BABYMONSTER. And this is not as bad as ppl pertain it to be. Maybe it's just the culture now for k-idols to be super sync etc. or ppl just clearly hatin 🤷

When I saw this I immediately thought about Alien choreo as well. They are an amazing dancing group and they both give off a similar energy. If you don't know them you should definitely check them out. They aren't idols though but just for a daily dose of a great dance performance they are great.
The people that hate this performance video should focus on their fav and listen how they would sound live. That girl did so many different things in one live evaluation video. The ones that are judging aren't dancers or performers. The fact that she's 15 years old,can do all of that and when they'll have concerts she'll do great live. She won't struggle. As a YG stan,the groups are not known for being robotic dancers like some agencies would push most groups to do.

this monthly evaluation videos was 2 years ago including the dance performance thats why Pharita and Canny/Chikita are not in the video.

Ahyeon is all rounder
I would say YG prioritises his groups to have strong individuality, be it voice, dance, personality, presence. They’re not looking for one style fit all and that’s why I love them for it. Because as a group, they blend well and harmonises yet as an individual, they stand strong just as much.

Hi i highly recommend a Filipino Boy group called SB19 they are multitalented. They consist of 5 members Stell the highest vocal range and choreographer of the group, Pablo the leader and composer of the group, Justin the creative director of the group, Ken the lowest voice range and the main dancer of the group, lastly Josh the rapper of the group. Check their songs like Bazinga which defeated BTS Dynamite in the Billboard Trending songs being the top 1 for 7 weeks.
