I've played decades of hockey in the 60's 70's, this guy is one of my favorite players, very clever away from the puck, his skating, a natural playmaker, mark my words, he's going to be a superstar in the next few years
What a beauty we Stars got ourselves in the back half of the first round 21 draft. Makes so many little plays that are way beyond his years. His forecheck is relentless and has amazing chemistry with Benn Seguin and now Dadanov and Domi too. He is going to carry this team along with the rest of the bright young core Jim Nill has assembled. Loving life now as a Stars fan!!! Hockey love from deep in the heart of Texas!
By the time camp was over I'm pretty sure that everyone in the Stars organisation, and a large part of their fans, knew Wyatt woulld not be going back to Juniors, so it should not have been a shock to the Spitfires.. The goal he scored in game 7 of the Seattle series was one for the ages. Most veteran playes would not have been able to make that shot. I blieve we are seeing the beginnings of a hall of fame career.
Timing is everything for young players. If he goes as high as he should have in the draft a team like San Jose takes him and nobody knows who this kid is and doesn’t put up anywhere close to 24 goals. A decent, veteran filled team like Dallas gets him late in the first round and he’s on a third line with Jaime Benn and not having to go up against McDavid or Crosby. He got very lucky

Composed, mature and intelligent young man. With his mindset and skillset it’s a no-brainer he made the league at his age. Thanks for the interview
Mr Johnston is a beast. One of my new favorite players 😤💯
Great rookie season, 24 goals and 41 pts. Don't sleep on this guy
