I have to watch myself when it comes to gun stuff because I can easily make a cascade of large purchases from what started out as a "simple" build. The Raider is my latest "case in point". Now I have two P320's and am getting holsters, sights, optics and all the jazz that is "necessary". But this is the life we chose, or at least the life I chose to live. I'd honestly rather be into this stuff that collecting antique serving dishes or something like that.
Answering your question though, I like the two tone weathered look. There are some guns I have that I am still too timid to put the paint to, but in general the mix match stuff is appealing to me.

My main reason for not liking FDE is because I live on the east coast. Not a lot of desert around these parts. So all my stuff is black, grey or Ranger Green. Maybe some OD green too. But Ranger Green is superior, imo.

I've gone as far as dismantling fcu entirely and cerakoted it to get rid of the peanut butter color peeking through the frame.

I have a black framed m18 upper slide p320 with a killer innovation comp and barrel on mine. I’m with you on the colors. But when are the flux raiders going to be in stock again I need one bad.
Haha sometime in twoish months. We are working on the steel parts right now but they take a while to make.

Like the update. I work in a pre fab shop so I know how it goes.
Style and customization has been been pushed quite a bit both through promotion and peer pressure - if influencers can be considered as some sort of peers. There's a couple of mind-sets here. Some LEOS and military types having received issued weapons tend to look down on customization. Civilians not so much. If the weapon in question is a carry weapon used for official purposes or personal defense the customization you do should be well reasoned. Stylistically certain things on a carry weapon should be no-gos. Trigger cosmetics, punisher motifs, gas pedals, IPSEC race gun elements should probably be avoided on a weapon that could become evidence should you ever need to use it as the tool it was meant to be. I have accumulated a fair share of 365XL slides, grip modules, magazine base plates and barrels mostly. When I considered the cost of cast-off items and their lack of use, I bought an additional 365 FCU to create a second complete 365XL. Then I made some purchases to insure the 2 were functionally the same because that is justifiable. I have not tried to keep them cosmetically the same. I do think one can be too obsessive about firearm customization including faux cerakote battle-worn finishes, US Airforce logos and the like... especially on carry weapons. Theres probably some risk of creating fetish objects given the OC nature of the 'hobby'. But I'm not sure what that even looks like. I suppose naming your gun some sinister name, ritualizing kills made with it, adding arcane symbology may qualify but that must also include human behaviors in addition to customization and markings. I think as long as changes are intended to enhance functionality and/or reliability your probably safe from much harsh self-analysis... infkuencers always have the out of 'knowing the market' before making recommendations to viewers. That usually works LOL.
Totally agree. Every customization should be purpose driven. Glad people make purpose driven accessories that look good as well. Not that it matters but I do like it.

Full black guns are pretty dope. Good thing most come stock like that.
