I lived in a few miles from Aldershot in Farnham. A night out didn’t include Aldershot! It was bedlam. 1Para would fight 2Para and both would have a scrap with 3Para. It was more like Wild West. Great times. When it kicked off get in a corner, get a chair leg and whack what got near you.
Another great ep. guys, and intriguing interview from Hugh representing the British and our beloved Para’s. Fascinating insight and I think maybe a good follow-on would be the respective approaches and attitudes to those taskings/deployments. Just to understand how intent and objectives are addressed and applied. The PTSD thing was awesome and I think a special ep on something around that could be good, not to just show progress but also how better understood of how it can be addressed and managed.
Re Ben Griffin ex SAS saying the US used SAS/Delta to transport civilians for torture, and refused to redeploy over it, Info can be found on the this H-Hour ep: ua-cam.com/video/OXTlx-PsvV0/v-deo.htmlsi=sqVIXNE0R0cSkH9o He goes more in depth on civilians being tortured from 30:17 in this talk, and is critical of Delta ROE: ua-cam.com/video/6tHvtFibhic/v-deo.htmlsi=ntB-wUB7nAmA0RC1
Enjoyed the pod but a couple of historical errors Major general’ boy ‘ Brownings wife chose the maroon beret colour! As part of the government reduction of the British army, many regiments have been’ amalgamated’ and no longer have their own training depots That is why Catterick has become the infantry school of training.
