Al: hold my ice cream...

Nevermind that, look at the fart hand guy go!
indeed
This is the most 80's thing I've ever seen.
Kung fury was more 80's
Salad and funny 😂
It's *'80s* ...not "80's".
The apostrophe goes before the 8, not after the 0. The reason is because _'80s_ is a shorthand way of writing _1980s._
Madison Jones you are awesome.
@phishbi - If you think this is 80’s, you need to watch Slegehammer next!😂
I like how managed to integrate the random “ow”s in a lot of rock songs as some random kid biting his ankle
LoL 😂 yes ‼️😂
the fact he looks down before reacting is the best part
or a painful hernia
Or a brain freeze.
My favourite one is the mouse trap in fat
He's right, chocolate IS getting old, vanilla DOES leave me cold, and Rocky road is one of the best ice cream flavors
I personally think that Weird Al's songs would have made the best commercials for the products he sings about!
I know right!!!!!
agreed
you've seen toyland, right?
The E-bay song is awesome
Gregory Magarshak Lol
The fact that he’s been making song parodies for over 40 years is incredible!
But don't forget that less than half of the songs on Weird Al's 14 studio albums are parodies.
Al is an incredible song writer and it's his original songs that show his true genius!
@@sophiet1576 couldn’t agree with you more!
@@sophiet1576of course, just look at Hardware Store of Albuquerque!
My mom was actually at the bar that fateful night when Al first performed this song. She told me that the moment he pulled out that accordion, she knew he was something special. I like to imagine the woman threatening the bartender in Al's biopic was based off of her. RIP Al, you may be gone but you're never forgotten.
its so sad someone was carrying a M60.
@@YummyMelonzThe theater should’ve taken proper precautions. Al’s death could’ve been easily avoided.
He's alive tho
@@griffinbaker3509 it's a joke based off his new movie
@@griffinbaker3509 I can perfectly relate to your denial, brother, but I'm afraid that you'll have to admit the fact that Al is gone to the best of worlds.
The guy playing the hand farts is a legendary badass.
Also Al's facial expressions are hilarious😂
How do you know they're coming from hands and not buttholes?
Mike the musical hands, if I remember correctly. He inspired me to master the hand farts as a ten year old. Lol
Impressing my own kids with this skill today, they asked how I learned such a thing. ...so I showed them this video. 😁
@@LastBastian I feel like I'm reading my own life story, lmao. I took up 'the musical hands' at around the age of 8, didn't fully master it until my early teens but my brother and I were renowned at our high school for it, it was like a family trait.
@@CopiousDoinksLLC Important life skills my friend. 👍
@@LastBastian bahahahaha that's awesome lmao
He who is tired of Weird Al is tired of life.
Homer Simpson
Well not my music teacher shes the one who taught us about werird al and that he is basiclly the bart baker of the 80's and yet his name is still legendary 36 years later.
+SuperGomez59 best Simpson one-liner
+Alvaro Is Awesome I'm sorry, but I disagree with your music Teacher, she shouldn't even compare Weird Al to Bart Baker, there's a big difference man. For one, most of Bart Baker's skits in his songs rely off of stereotypes of today's pop culture, which is extremely weak in its own right, Weird Al (While still doing parodies) does make original concepts based off of his OWN creations, hell, the only things similar are the lyrics really, I mean, take a look at Amish Paradise, come on... tell me that's not just a beautiful idea. Another thing, Bart Baker constantly shits out parodies of songs that become popular to profit off of it, while Weird Al started making parodies with the soul purpose of making content others could enjoy, he never realized he'd become famous from it, sure I guess the same could be said about Bart Baker, but if you make shitty parodies constantly that are aimed towards the teen demographic, eventually someone's going to start talking about it, then someone else, and then he's famous, rolling in that youtube money. Honestly, there's more to be said, but I really don't feel like explaining it any further, just watch a few of Weird Al's videos, then watch Bart's, the difference will become very clear.
I hear ya!!! I so agree.
My "Lame Claim to Fame" is having a friend who was an extra in this video.
+paperdain Where at?
+Brendan Carlson He never pointed himself out, just said that he was one of the young people who sat at the tables eating ice cream. He has since died of cancer, so I can't ask him the details anymore.
Oh.... im so sorry about your loss...
+Brendan Carlson It's OK, it was a long time ago.
my lame claim to fame is that my grandma is friends with the mom of the drummer of 21 pilots
Fun fact: Al got so addicted to rocky road ice cream while filming this video, that the AWw's were actual screams of pain from all the brain freeze he received while shoveling rocky road into his tummy. He later went to rehab where he received help for his addition from two young go-getters Ben & Jerry.
It's actually how he filmed the scenes for the BAD parody, FAT.
me when i spread misinformation online
I love whenever he manages to get Dr. Demento into a video
This song reminded me I haven't had Rocky Road in a long time.
It reminds me I've never had rocky road lol.
Why not go and buy half a gallon?
Kilogram.
+Douglas Roth - You mean 48 fl. oz. Companies have downsized their products quite a bit over the years.
R.J. Lupin I was referencing the song listen to the chorus.

Canadian. We have a lotta Ukrainians and Polish people up here.
Yup. Weird.
@@marshwetland3808 Oh. That's why.
@@asovietreunion13 Yep, also if you check out John Candy's (another Canadian) sketches about Melonville, it seems to be based on a very popular accordion show that was locally broadcast for years and years. Oh, and here it is, Polka Time: ua-cam.com/video/JWHhdG7682Y/v-deo.html AFter the intro, the big toothy grin of the "star" so reminds me of John Candy in melonville. Somewhere Joan Jett is still laughing at this.
In an interview, Joan Jett said that she and The Blackhearts didn't like the song.

1:10-1:11 Dr. Demento, Weird Al's inspiration, makes a cameo appearance. Two zany musical geniuses in one video, wow!

Fun fact: The ice cream in this video is actually mashed potatoes.
Mashed potatoes painted brown with latex paint*
At 0:51 the one he bites into was supposed to be real but the real ice cream fell off so he bit the latex covered mashed potatoes.
Yeah, I've always found that neat. That's actually a very common practice, it's done pretty much whenever footage of ice cream is needed.

I just stumbled across one of you songs after all these years. You probably won't ever see this, but you got me through a really bad time in my younger life. You taught me humor... Weird al was creating memes before memes were a thing
that does seem tue but actually the word meme was invented in 1976 and this was in 1983

Crazy to think that Al was only fresh out of college. Never underestimate the youth.

He looks like a total boss walking in w the ladies.
This is important... This means something...
My Dad was 17 years old when this song was out in 1982, now 40 years later he's 56 years old but it's still retro.
This was my favorite weird al song when I was 12. Now 25 years later I can finally see the music video via the internet.
Next, I need to finally go to Raging Waters in San Dimas California because my parents never took me like they promised.
Hearing Al say "MAKE IT TALK!" during the accordion solo ALWAYS makes me laugh.

Weird al is a national treasure we must protect him at all costs

"Musical Mike" Kieffer with his "farting" hands makes this parody even better.

The '80s were great, but the '90s were even better imo. :)
Mayo Rice I like the 80s and 90s equally 😋😋
Mayo Rice the 90s were lame. Shitty rap, grunge, horrible clothing and hairstyles etc. And this pc bullshit really started picking up then. The 80s were so much better, especially the music, films, and pop culture in general.
Except the AIDS era. For some people the 80s are just a reminder of many deaths. Not me, but people I know.
Probably the greatest musician of all time
Only Weird Al can make hand farts a musical instrument
Also, he's wearing custom Converse high-tops before they were widely available
Eh, they were big in the 1960s, and they made a comeback in the 1970s, and then another comeback in the 1980s.

All the people in that panning shot are different colors. It's supposed to represent the flavor they're eating. The green kid was probably mint chocolate chip or something.
Ice creams sales must've peaked around this time
I just recognized Doctor Demento was in this video after all these years, why was I not informed!? Just adds to that Weird Al magic.
I've watched this video countless times over the years, and only now do I notice that the hands guy at 0:13 has the Schoedinger equation on his t-shirt!
That’s the secret formula to hand farts!
Musical Mike. Responsible for the fart sounds in all Al's early works
Though crude even by the standards of the day, his greatness is evident here in this true classic! I still love the idea of grabbing himself a cone when he's all alone. It simply never gets old.
When Al said "another truckload is coming in for me" it reminds of when my dad would go up to the store and a pack of six moose tracks ice creams and always tell the owner of the store and I quote "just leave several packs for me" good times
