- I forgot to add a clip on how I prefer to take the batt off the drum, so I edited it and it is now in the clip towards the end. In Part 1 we'll learn how to prepare fiber for carding.
I am using a Pat Green Deb Delux drumcarder in all the videos which was purchased from Susan's Fiber Shop in Columbus WI. :)

Thank you for that video. Even after almost one year, you're still teaching how to use a drum carder. You're fantastic because you enjoy it also! Jojos from Quebec, Canada
I saw all videos about wool carding. You have the best. You are an excelent and happy teacher!
This was VERY helpful. I read the written instructions for my new drum carder but seeing is so much better. Thank you. Now I know what to do.
love your enthusiasm. Dig the tunes. I used to call myself a fiber enthusiast, now I'm joining your cult of fiber fiends!!!
Hello,
Your videos are great. You are my first experience with you tube and this is wonderful. You are witty and enformative. Thank you so much.
Clappyone
Thanks for the positive feed back as it is greatly appriciated!
Hello Darling! Glad to see you again! Love the Batik Blanket in the background!
OMG what a great idea! The Chinese and Japanese resteraunts are always giving them away around the holidays.
Awesome tutorial! Just wonderful! Entertaining and educational - who could ask for more? Great way to sell people on getting a drum carder too. If only I had the space. Hmm...
I love the way you take the batt off! That has to be the easiest and neatest way I've seen it done!
lol!!! i absolutely *love!!!!!!!!!* this video!!! had a great laugh and learned lots too, love it. subscribing, and looking forward to watching lots more of your vids straight after this one :) thank you!!
Great video, thank you for sharing and making it fun too. It's interesting to see how much work goes into the prepared fibre we buy, I can't decide if it's better to keep buying it or do it myself :)
I really enjoyed this - very interesting and informative. You're cool!
Thank you very much! I appriciate your positive feedback!
LOL...it is definitely less time consuming to just buy it already prepared but I find more satisfaction in doing the work myself. :) Thanks for the positive feedback as it is always appriciated and welcomed!
Wow, that fleece is a gorgeous color. I needle felt and was drooling over that fleece. Your video is great; love your humor and enthusiasm!
Yes, It was drool worthy. LOL!
Doh! The only thing I seem to be constantly jabing myself on it that cleaning brush that looks like a wicked shoe horn. My left thumb is now officially holy...full of holes! LMAO!
Tee-hee-hee!! Thanks so much! I appriciate the positive feedback!
I really don't know which would be the best. It more personal perference. The Pat Green was recommended to me by Susans Fiber Shop. I'd say try before you buy, if at all possible. Same with any sort of major spinngin equipment purchase. If that is not possible be sure to note the return policies. Thanks for the positive feedback!!
I wish I loved anything as much as you love what you're doing.
You are an inspiration.
You are so funny, I enjoyed your video. Thank you for sharing your enthusiasm.
Pat Green Deb Deluxe. It's HUGE!
I like simplicity. :)
Hi,
I really like your videos! They are interesting, instructional and fun!
@DianaLouisiana Yeappers, you gots it! Roving is also called Top because it contains the longest fibers in the wool. Unfortunately, because of that, vendors love to charge more for "Premium Top". It's just wool that has been carded by a ginormous machine...nothin so special as to be "premium". Thanks for the positive feedback!
I thought the intro music sounded familiar! Love Podrunner.
And your videos are really great too. I find them to be more educational then other videos where they simply show you what to do, without really explaining it.
Thank you SOOOO much for the drum carder tips and info. I really appreciate your helpful videos and went on to buy my own drum carder with much more confidence thanks to YOU..!! ;-))
I love your fibre and I love the cool music as well
realy like the video thank you
Thanks so much (and I take full responsibility)!
Fantastico!
Very very wonderful method!
@tronald42 I bought it at the same time I bought the carder from Susans Fiber Shop here in Wisconsin. I don't know what the brush attachment looks like. If it looks like a hand carder with long straight tines, then yes, it's the same.
good instruction. thank you
Thank you for sharing, very well video ^^
You are so fun!
Brilliant video. Really interesting, and I loved the idea of using the bamboo mat to wind it all up. :) x
great stuff..you make me grin...well happy bird aint ya
@susara16 Online, at fiber conventions, local farmers, other fiber artists. Check your local listings for sheep's wool or wool roving.
Sushi Matt as a remover. Biggest Life hack EVER!!!
Totes!!
HEHE!!! Thank you very much!! Learning is always better when F-U-N is involved.
Love your videos. What are you doing these days ? Where can we find you on line?
Where did you buy the burnishing tool? I have the brush attachment does that work to do the same? Love your videos
I have a cult following?! LMAO Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!
Thanks for the positive feedback as it is always appriciated!
Thanks so much for all the postive feedback! If anyone is unaware, I am doing a fundraiser to raise the funds to replace a RAM chip in my puter that is crappin out, making it impossible to edit video to upload to youtube. I have two more waiting to be edited! You can find my fundraiser page at rexenne. chipin. com/ new-1gig-ram-chip (take out spaces). I appriciate every little bit that helps! Thanks for your consideration and support!!
Hey, which drum did you get? I just bought my Deb's Deluxe (It got here last Friday, woohoo) I got the fur drum and I'm thinking I should have maybe gone with the other drum... My batts come out very compact, but that might be because I use the burnishing tool very liberally?
where do you buy all your wool product making stuff
Very good girl
where do you buy fiber from? o.o
@rexenne do you think you can give me specific web sites :)
i'm just a beginner and i think the two drum carders i've been offered were stuffed cause they didn't work nearly so well as yours......how rude that they think i'm so dumb as not to do some research first?
totally stealing the bamboo mat idea, much better then brushing it off.
soignee Yeap!
