This is our second K-Classic. We had our first one for many years, so when we had to replace it, we wanted nothing else but this exact ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxBrV-RbF5Nk0Rlt9i15aao-YMzqzTG8Vf model. We use it for about three people everyday in the morning. The taste and quick brew is one of the reasons we like it so much. There are so many choices of brands of coffee that we would grab what was on sale and test the different brands from there. I would definitely recommend trying different brands of coffee to find the ones you like the most because there are brands that quite frankly taste horrible.
I tried the first two tricks without success ... and then the smacking It worked like magic!!! Now we're back in business, thank you so much. You've just saved me a couple hundred dollars.
Before watching this video I had already done everything besides hit the machine. After watching the video I attempted to hit it a few times and dropped it in my sink. Then proceeded to just hit it while it was down and guess what it worked. lol. Before it was only giving me a little bit of coffee. Now it gives me a full cup and it’s way hotter than before. Thank you!!
THANK YOU!!!! I was so ticked this morning because I couldn't have my coffee. Tried all the suggestions and nothing. So I did what you said, turned it over and whacked the heck out of it and now its working!
After trying three times with what I thought was a firm smack, I nearly bruised my hand hitting the thing. The last time I plugged it back in and ran the vinegar through, it worked. Coffee in the morning again!! Thanks. So glad I saw your video first!
Unbelievable, I’ve been working on my stubborn Keurig now for quiet some time. Wouldn’t give me a drop of water no matter what I tried. Until I tried the good ol spank to the underside of my 6 year old Keurig buddy. That did the trick. What?! Now at least it’s running and I can get a few rounds of vinegar through it to finish the clean up. Thank you!
Yeah😀thank you Erika I used your handy tips with the paperclip for descaling my Keurig just now. Worked wonderful! Had no idea what descaling ment either. Now the water is flowing great!!
Yes...a few good swacks to the bottom of keurig works. I recently bought a keurig at local thrift store..did thorough cleaning on outside and then descaling but only gave 1/4cup of coffee. did all the tricks with paperclip but still very little coffee. so I tried swacking bottom a few times...now it works beautifully..got a steal for $8.00 for a keurig instead of paying full retail value!
It worked. I am shocked and amazed. Last time this happened it took me 2 days with the vinegar in the reservoir to finally clear it. Today 6 months later it clogged again. I did the usual cleaning protocol just like you did. Still nothing. Then I gave it it's "Whacks". I spanked it 12 times hard because I was annoyed. Set it up again, pushed brew, and bingo Niagara falls! I could not believe it. You are the best. I ran a couple big cups of vinegar through it and will now let it sit for a good 8 hours then flush with more vinegar and finally water. Thank you!
Hi there thanks for the tree tip !! I couldn’t have coffee this morning myself and I got back home and was your Video!! I pooked it on the needle and took off the coffee cup holder just blow it and put it back and wall la it worked I almost gave it in it !! so easy oh by the way I don’t have to do the part with vinegar nor upside down banging !! Lol Thanks !!
Can't believe it but the turning upside down and beating on the bottom did the trick!! I had to repeat that 3 or 4 times but now it is running perfectly. Thank you.
OMG after not using my Keurig for 2 mos and using Mr. Coffee instead, this worked! I turned it upside-down hit it just like you said and voila, it worked. Thank you so much
L I F E S A V E R!!! Thank you!! Whacking it over the sink made it run better than it has in forever. Who knew these little Keurig Minxes needed a spanking? Saved me from having to buy a new one.
Well I would not believe it but it worked! I have done the vinegar and the paper clip but it finally stopped working, I came upon this video and tried the turning upside down and smacking it hard three times (I actually did the smacking 6 times). Plugged the Keurig in and ran a large cup of plain water, Thank you. Still cannot believe it worked.
Huge thumbs up! I completely had the same experience that you had and followed tour steps and voila, well actually aim still waitimg for the vinegar to sit but there’s hope and finally movement of water. Thank you for posting
You don't have to whack it. Just a few shakes is all it takes.I found shaking it first, then poking the needles in the top and the holder with a pin and finally cleaning ir with vinegar worked really well. Happy to have it working again!
I descaled my Keurig and ran enough water through the machine to rinse out the vinegar and everything worked properly. The next morning it did not work. It leaked water and the brewing cycle would stop in the middle of the cycle. I took your advice and turned it upside down and smacked it three times and it works fine now, Thanks for the tip.
Have been trying to descale my Keurig for the past two hours and nothing was working! A few thwacks on the bottom did the trick! Was just about to give up and head out to purchase a new one. Thanks!
Thanks for your tips. I luv the "heavy duty paper clip" tool inventory item. Nothing like an all purpose heavy duty paper clip in girl's toolbox. You deserved a nice cup of coffee after the testing trials! Cheers.
You won't believe that I looked 👀 at three videos with similar tips. Yours being the last one. After tinkering for about an hour with the paper clip thingy, I wack the bottom of the Keurig like I was spanking it. Then I put the distilled water 💦 and vinegar in it and turn it on and wallah! It finally work!!! After a year! My sister gave me this Keurig, so it's a special possession. It's not hamper time! It's coffee time! ☕️
Careful doing the paperclip trick on the upper needle .... if you THWACK IT in too far you could possibly pierce the discharge hose! That would mean taking the machine all apart to replace it. I've had the same identical machine you have for 5 years now without ever descaling and works great and never had the descale appear on mine. I have ran nothing but tap water through it also. The pump sounds like a bucket of bolts when the boiler fills, but still works fine. I will be trying oxiclean dissolved in hot water when/if I ever get around to descaling mine .... has done wonders for cooking the coffee stains RIGHT out my Stanley thermos for years and no awful stench from vinegar.
OMG!!! I thwacked more than 3 times 🤣, but really, that's what it needed!!!! Thank you soooooooo much! I thought I had to buy a new one 😱. God bless you!!!
Keurig Customer Service was helpful; took me through the paper clip trick, etc., but still didn't help me fix the problem - the rep actually offered me a discount on a new machine. Then she said that she couldn't advise me to shake the machine vigorously but that has worked for people in the past. Sure enough, that must have loosened up enough of the scale build-up to flow water into the brewer. Now it's on to a vinegar cycle! Wish me luck!
Yup....tried the first three thing ..no luck...turned it over the sink and smacked it hard a few times...viola..it works 😉 was about to come unglued!! It's just under 2 years old. Got to have my coffee...thanks tons
Wow great advice! I did all the cleaning first and it still didn’t work so I unplugged it and turned it over and smacked it three times and then tried it again and it worked perfectly!😂
Thank you for the tip! I'll try this if mine gets clogged. I have a pour-over coffee maker and a french press coffee maker as backups, because those two types never get clogged or need any electricity to work.
Thank you Erica! Your video commenting about watching the other videos and getting all the top tips helped mine to work. A friend gave me her friend's machine, but it needed to be cleaned up and your tips were great!
LOL! I did the same thing! Went to make a cup of coffee and it wouldn't work. Tried several times and finally got upset and whacked it on top. It started working. This was during the holidays...I needed my coffee! LOL.
Thanks Erica all I had to do was thwack it with mah fist and well ... BOOM!!It worked just like before.I didn’t have to add vinegar.Juuuust plain thwacking!!Thanks so much girl! The machine was driving me nut,I hit the machine so hard that my hand hit but it was worth the pain. Thanks again now I can enjoy a nice cup of coffee!😘👍❤️
Thank you so much! The first 2 tips did not work, but the smacking one worked like a charm. It's so weird how smaking it would give it a system reboot. Anyway, thank you again :)
My message was prime not descale but I'd watched several videos that had me do all he steps you first went through. None worked. But when you said turn it upside down and whack it I figured what the heck. First time it didn't work when I powered on. Then I made sure I seated something I loosened up where the water goes was pushed back in. When I did that and powered on and voila instead of going from not ready to prime once the water heated up it stayed at not ready. Stuck a kcup and.....READY TO BREW!!! Hallelujah
That's what worked for me too. Hey I should have known. It works with mostly everything. My solutions are always power it all the way down and restart. Or hit it a few times. Lol.
TIP: I use "Distilled Water" in my coffee makers! Rain is "Distilled Water." Pediatricians recommend "Distilled Water" when making baby formulas for sensitive stomachs! Tap water has too much bleach/minerals that will build up in your machine. That goes for well water, too! I have friends who used "Purified" and "Spring" water and had to descale their machine.
The LED under the water reservoir flashes, meaning it needs refilling, after every cup we brew (regardless of size) and even when full. I assume something is clogged. Will this fix that problem?
Roger Jackson Hmmm...I haven't encountered this so I'm not really sure. If it's been awhile since it was last cleaned, it may need to be descaled again. Or just given a good smack. :)
While I've beaten it upside down over the sink, more than once, and again today I also removed the screen in the reservoir as my machine was having a hard time filling. I guess I could descale the screen and blow it out with compressed air but I'm using bottled water so not so sure I need it.
My machine is back running like new again. I soaked the screen in vinegar for 4 hours and blew it out with a can of air for your keyboard but blowing through a straw would work too. I also used a toothbrush on it. It's a fine screen so this should be first on your list for prime problems. Just 3 #1 Phillips screws hold it in place. Small hands are a plus. I de scaled the machine too.
my keurig didnt want to work last night, after messing with it, I finally got it to work, I'm going to clean it every 2 weeks now... all I did was wipe the top part down and tried it. I'm not sure what could be the problem
Erica Gomez (@ericablogs) funny you were saying about turning it upside down and giving it a few wacks, I was just screaming at my husband that he was going to break it, glad to know it can handle that, but now I have to tell him he had the right mind set, LOL.
Roxanne, hahaha! I beat mine to the punch yesterday and began the descaling process *just* as the descale message came on. No throttling required this time, thankfully. ;)
Good video and thanks so I now I have water dripping back into the reservoir which tells me it needs a nasal flush so I took air and blew it through the needle inlets and the overflow inlet and wala if anyone would like video on this just ask! Good luck !

I almost gave up on my Keurig, then I watched video and it helped tremendously. Thank you Ms. Diva!!!!
Thank you so much! It worked. I feel very empowered and $300 bucks richer. Very grateful from Arkansas!
Happy to hear that, Elizabeth!
Great video. The directions were easy to follow. You were thorough.
Omg, spent hours trying the seemingly same tutorials over and over. This worked right away
Glad to hear it!
I was trying everything to get my Keurig back. After watching your vid and a couple good whacks I am enjoying coffee again. Thank you!
***** Glad to hear it!
thanks for the tips because i was getting so frustrated. did all 3 tips and it worked..... thanks again my hubby is happy
+Bernadette Perkins Glad to hear it!
I tried the first two tricks without success ... and then the smacking
It worked like magic!!!
Now we're back in business, thank you so much. You've just saved me a couple hundred dollars.
Evelyn Garcia Awesome!
Me too! Amazing!
That's great, Frankie.
i just smacked the hell out of mine and it works great now. for real!
Right?! It really works. :)
Thank you!!
Your method worked! I tried all three and the last step recalibrated everything. Good job diva ☺
THANK YOU!!!! I was so ticked this morning because I couldn't have my coffee. Tried all the suggestions and nothing. So I did what you said, turned it over and whacked the heck out of it and now its working!
+Nita Cole Awesome!

sueishere25 Thank you! Happy to help. :)
+sueishere25 I love that pic of your baby (dog).
Yeah😀thank you Erika I used your handy tips with the paperclip for descaling my Keurig just now. Worked wonderful! Had no idea what descaling ment either. Now the water is flowing great!!

+Diary of a Domestic Diva thank you soo much it worked if tried 10000000 different things. Glad you got frustrated enough and just hit it!!!!
Seriously. They should add it to the instruction manual.
you're a genius It worked after nothing else did I followed your instructions and used a rubber mallet
Liz Pelletier Hi, Liz. It sounds so ridiculous, doesn't it? Cheers!
Thanks for the tip. I started with the thwacking, 3-4 good hits and BAM! good as new. Now I can enjoy my coffee!
Thank you! You saved yourself a lot of time by starting with the thwacking. Haha!
Huge thumbs up! I completely had the same experience that you had and followed tour steps and voila, well actually aim still waitimg for the vinegar to sit but there’s hope and finally movement of water. Thank you for posting

Will have to try that if it happens again. I also smacked the top when it was being ornery and that helped.
Jerry Wright Thanks, Jerry. Glad you're up and running again.
Your video saved my sanity!! Lol the last step about slipping it over and hitting it worked 😂
+mommyjessie13 It's unreal that THAT is what will do it, but it works. :)
Have been trying to descale my Keurig for the past two hours and nothing was working! A few thwacks on the bottom did the trick! Was just about to give up and head out to purchase a new one. Thanks!

+Vicki Stratton Yes! Gotta have our coffee!
Thank God I found your video it worked for me I was about to trash mine!!
Wow great advice! I did all the cleaning first and it still didn’t work so I unplugged it and turned it over and smacked it three times and then tried it again and it worked perfectly!😂

Robin Randall Thanks for watching, Robin. I'm happy this helped!
Erica, THANK YOU!! IT WORKS!! I have coffee! ☕
Thanks Erica. Striking the machine on the back worked!!
Awesome!
+Diary of a Domestic Diva And your Ice Bucket Challenge was awesome too (better than mine...lol)
Haha! Thanks!
Erica. The smacking worked. TY
LOL! I did the same thing! Went to make a cup of coffee and it wouldn't work. Tried several times and finally got upset and whacked it on top. It started working. This was during the holidays...I needed my coffee! LOL.

Wow! Who would have guessed... thanks Erica... spare the rod, spoil the coffee maker...remarkable fix...
Hey Lady !!!! Thanks .....your video did it for me !!!!!
Thank you so much! The first 2 tips did not work, but the smacking one worked like a charm. It's so weird how smaking it would give it a system reboot. Anyway, thank you again :)
+Miley Dallas Glad it worked, Miley. :)
Great job, thanks!
Smacked the bottom and works great.
Thanks for posting this!
Angela Lewis I hope you found it helpful, Angela. ;)
Ahhh YES a few good smacks on the bottom of our Keurig and now its working. Thank you!!!!!
Christiana Lundeen Awesome!
You just saved my day!!!! Your a coffee god! ☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️ thank you!!!!
What model is your keurig? I just got the same one :)
Worked like a charm! Thank you very much!!!!!
Awesome!
Thank you!!! UA-cam never let's us down!!!
My message was prime not descale but I'd watched several videos that had me do all he steps you first went through. None worked. Great job! You condensed it all. Thanks ♥
That's very kind of you to say since it seemed rather long-winded to me. :)
Thanks! It is working great again!
+Mary Bailey That's great! You are welcome. Thanks for watching!
We have a Keureg for over 8 yrs and has never plugged up. But always use a local brand if spring water and never tap water.
Be sure to UN plug your keurig before sticking metal things in there!
I did all that she did first too, then smacking it actually worked!!
flipping it worked for me! thank you so much!
That's what worked for me too. Hey I should have known. It works with mostly everything. My solutions are always power it all the way down and restart. Or hit it a few times. Lol.
Not all machines are the same ours is a different model then the one's shown. but I assume they can be cleaned the same.
I clean my unit once month. Using distilled water now so hope this keeps it clean. But good to know, just in case.Namaste and care, mhikl
+Mhi kl See? So funny that a good whack is what it needs sometimes. :)
Darrell Whitlock We use filtered water. Thanks for the tip!
Good smack we give it. We'll try descaling it, as smacking only last through the next cup. Thank you.
Good luck!
The third one work for me thank you
It works. Love u Erica. 😁
Very impressed. Let me know if you ever decide to rebuild an engine :)
"Turn the car over and give it a good thwack on the bottom."
Holy shit!! That worked!!!! Thank You
Thank you very much I'm trying this now.
Spanking???? It's WORKS,,,,,Thank you Erica!!!!
While I've beaten it upside down over the sink, more than once, and again today I also removed the screen in the reservoir as my machine was having a hard time filling. I guess I could descale the screen and blow it out with compressed air but I'm using bottled water so not so sure I need it.
Trevor Galvin Did you have any luck, Trevor?
My machine is back running like new again. I soaked the screen in vinegar for 4 hours and blew it out with a can of air for your keyboard but blowing through a straw would work too. I also used a toothbrush on it. It's a fine screen so this should be first on your list for prime problems. Just 3 #1 Phillips screws hold it in place. Small hands are a plus. I de scaled the machine too.
Nicely done! Thanks for the tip.
We all need a good thwacking some times!
my keurig didnt want to work last night, after messing with it, I finally got it to work, I'm going to clean it every 2 weeks now... all I did was wipe the top part down and tried it. I'm not sure what could be the problem
+djclown7pb Mine acts up, too. Sometimes that little shake between cleanings works. :)
OMG it worked! Thank you :)
+Becky Lupo Excellent! You're welcome.
I found that canned air works great in blowing stuff out.
thanks I did all but the toothbrush since my is not electric. and lo and behold.i'm enjoying a full cup of coffee
oo
Nelson Perez Awesome! Enjoy your java. :)
No throttling required this time, thankfully. ;)
worked for me thanks!!!
thank you
It worked for me to....PTL and Thank you Ma'am!!!!!
+CarolInHisService Awesome!
Thank you...worked for me too!
+Keith Johnson Glad to hear it, Keith.
Good to know! I'll be trying these tricks later on. I just got the "descale" message today :-(
Thanks! Hope it works!
Beating the hell out of it worked. Keurig should really include that in their manual. Haha
wow...... smacking it worked!!! lol thanks for the tips!!!
Stephanie Brown q
The upside down method works!!!!
I just gave mines a spanking on the bottom and whatever was clot came out when I ran water Thur it. Now its working.
+Alice Wilson A 'spanking' -- haha!
+Alice Wilson I would like to "spank" the person who designed this blasted contraption. It's definitely NOT all that. I've learned my lesson.
+Donna Arnold-Ashworth. it works
Lol, yup smacking it worked thanks! Howevere I do thing it was more letting the water run out.
Bryan Brown Good to know. :)
So, I caved and watched it;)
Mama V Ha! Cheesy, right?
I beat the fire out of it, it's working..Thanks!
Carter Slade Awesome. Glad to hear the coffee is flowing again.
It was the needle within the k cup holder that punctures the bottom !!!!!!
Good video and thanks so I now I have water dripping back into the reservoir which tells me it needs a nasal flush so I took air and blew it through the needle inlets and the overflow inlet and wala if anyone would like video on this just ask! Good luck !
+Dale Zorn Thanks, Dale!
Thank you so much The Smaking worked LOL
Going to try this afternoon when I get home from work. Mine is completely not working~ Thanks. Hope it works~
+Kim Williams I hope you've got coffee brewing again. :)
Oh my gosh I can’t believe the thwacking worked!!
Thanks for the tips cappuccinos once again thank you
+Anthony Tudon Awesome. Thanks for watching!
Thank you! The thwacking did it!!
Canadian ?
No coffee in the morning is an extremely serious crisis. 😊
