Das Werk eines Siebzigjährigen, mit letzter Kraft komponiert (1802, noch nach den Jahreszeiten)! Ich finde, das macht die Musik noch eindrucksvoller.

Wonderful performance by a group of performers formerly unknown to me. And hats off to the hornist at 16:00 and after, for his diligent attention to the instrument! Hoomeyow!!

What a wonderful performance of a very fine work - many thanks.
    Just a little suggestion:
The English translation of the name Harmoniemesse is normally Wind Band Mass; the German ‘harmonie’ absolutely does *not* translate in this instance into English as ‘Harmony’ which means something completely different - it is a notorious false friend.
Can you change the title ?
In fact, in the English-speaking world - in England in particular, but almost everywhere else as well - the German name is almost always used rather than the clumsy English translation.

That looks much better - thanks.
I will be listening to the performance again in a day or two as I enjoyed it very much; it’s a fantastic work, and the performance did it full justice.

Impressive, sadly gasmasks and Haydn are not a good mix. No-one's fault. 2021 - what a year.

For Haydn the most important is the /funny/music.I suspect he wasn't "very" religious!

    • @pepehaydn7039

I would quote an englishman here: “When I was protestant I had a happy life and a sad religion. Now, a catholic, I have a sad life and a happy religion.”
      (John Henry Newman).
By the way he was a proficient violinist but, as a pure 19-century man, he did not like Haynd very much in comparison to Beethoven. Of course, I do not share his opinion here.

Hopelessly wrong on both counts; pure disinformation.
Wherever did you pick up this nonsense ?

      @@pepehaydn7039
The Anglican Church of which Newman was a member for half his life (and also a priest), is barely recognisable in many respects as a ‘Protestant’ church, particularly the High Church end of which he was a leading figure which is perhaps better described as Anglo-Catholic, or reformed-Catholic (the King/Queen being the head of the church rather than the Pope for example).
Haydn’s masses are in the repertoire of every English cathedral, chapel, and large church and are very effective when used in the proper sacred liturgical context, and particularly so when used with the sublime language found in the Book of Common Prayer (1549/1662).

Zu viel tremulous bei den Solisten.
Ist eigentlich eine überholte Singweise bei Oratorien

Masking these talented dedicated musicians is horribleness. 😡 Less enjoyable to watch. 👎

    • @sendadiestra7203

Very ugly indeed. Pointless selective masking. Absurd, mere virtue signaling, contrasting with the beauty and meaning of this music.

    • @andrewtannenbaum1

Masking is too utilitarian a word. It implies a purpose. Instead say something like: Putting face diapers on these talented dedicated musicians....

@@andrewtannenbaum1 ...here is a suggestion with all due respect, Andrew Tannenbaum: why don't you inform the management of the BRIXNER INITATIVE MUSIK UND KIRCHE in writing, that you - Andrew Tannenbaum - will personally take care of any potential wage-losses of musicians who should be unlucky enough to fall ill due to not wearing their face masks, in order to please your ego!
How - pray tell - does it affect the quality of the musician working their instruments or the presentation and sound of the Mass, if the non-singing participants wear masks?!?!

Masking the orchestra's string players, timpanist but not the winds, conductor, singers. Performative bs.
