xfantasybr0 It's not cute, it's sad. Ash's relationship was pretty much hinting what it's like for women that are in controlling or emotionally abusive relationships. Ash was probably dating Lance for YEARS even though he didn't treat her the greatest and constantly said things to put her down. You can practically feel Lance's regret when he sees Ash perform her final song.

I'm actually kind of glad he dumped her. He was no good for her anyway and Ash wouldn't have standed another chance following his demands and not being able to right any of her own songs or guitar solos knowing Lance would just be jealous not wanting to hear how great she is!

Ash's BF, The pig lady;s husband, Mike's best friend is a slacker, Mike steals from other businesses, Goonther showed no concern when his dance partner fell, Johnny shirks his duties, Every male in this movie is a slacker or a jerk in some way. Whereas every female is oppressed in some way.

1. Jerk boyfriends exist, that's the reality. Just because Lance is one, doesn't mean the writers hate men. That just means that the writers are acknowledging that they exist. The fact that Lance is a jerk is what helps Ash reach her full potential and live out her dream. When she finally realizes that he's been holding her back, she let's go of him and moves on with her life. Great story arch if you ask me, considering the fact that Lance looks like he emotionally abused Ash for years. This shit actually happens in the real world, and it happens to men and women.
2. That is a common thing with a lot of marriages. Everything is fine and dandy until the years go by and the spark starts to fade. You can tell Rosita and Norman's marriage was amazing at one time (hence the reason why they have 25 piglets!), but as the years went by Norman started to become too absorbed in his work and stopped being an attentive husband. It happens. And as a result Rosita feels like she had to give up her dreams and become a housewife just to keep the family happy. That happens a lot and it is sad. But if you watch the scenes leading up to Rosita's final performance, you will see that Norman actually understands how Rosita feels and he makes an effort to support her.
3. Mike's best friend? What are you talking about? Mike didn't steal from other businesses, he stole from the bears while they were playing cards. It's called being a cheater. Mike is supposed to be that arrogant, rude contestant that only cares about the money. Most contests that involve large amounts of money have that one person.
4. It's spelled 'Gunter', and that's not true. He is supposed to be the comic relief, so that's why he had that response when Rosita fell on the stage. BUT if you watched the actual movie or other clips and trailers, you will see that Gunter helped Rosita walk when she walked backstage. Gunter actually helped Rosita a lot during the movie. He gave her advice, and taught her how to be better with her dancing and how to just let loose and have fun. Gunter actually cares a lot for Rosita, they're partners for goodness sake! There was a scene when the contestants were rehearsing and the power went off, and Gunter told Rosita not to worry because he had glow sticks. Sounds a lot like caring to me.
5. Johnny is a teen that is torn between doing what his father wants and doing what he wants. You can tell that he has a lot of potential and knows right from wrong, but he also wants what most boys want, and that's to have their father be proud of them. That's why he goes along with what his father wants regardless of whether or not that's what he actually wants. Watch the movie and see how much of a sweetheart Johnny is to the other characters. He cheers Meena on during her performance, he wishes Meena good luck before her audition, he helps Ash up off the ground during the climax of the movie, he makes a decision that goes against what his father wants. Oh man, I can go on about Johnny! You can tell that the writers loved Johnny! 😃
6. You didn't mention anything about Eddie, so I'll just add a point for him as well. Eddie is also a male and he is a great friend to Buster. He's not a bad person nor does he have a bad personality. He is seen helping Buster a lot during the movie and you can tell that he really cares for Buster. He is the farthest thing from a jerk.
The men aren't all jerks in the movie. I would honestly say that there are 2 jerks in the movie, and that's Lance and Mike. But overall the men in the movies aren't written to be unlikable characters. Just because the men aren't seen as 'heroes' that save the day, doesn't mean that they are jerks. Every man has a different personality and struggle. And just because the women have their problems to deal with, doesn't mean that they are oppressed. In fact, Meena is nowhere close to being oppressed. She's just a young teen that has stage fright. That's normal.

ANYWAY...
Cool guys from this movie: Buster, Johnny, Eddie, Gunter (main) competitors that didn't make it to the final, baboon Mike robs, Norman (Rosita's husband; he loves her, he just doesn't show it often) (supporting)
Bad guys from this movie: Mike, Lance, (main), bear gang, Big Daddy. (supporting)
Sounds like a fine balance to me. Just like the real world, not everyone is perfect. And reminding you, man hate doesn't exist. Peace.

NaJay Not sure. I sometimes throw with my left, even tho I am right handed, I sometimes eat with my left hand even though I am right handed, I have been asked if I am Left Handed just cus my left hand is stronger. Not sure why that is, but I am far from Ambidextrous.... Or it could just be an animated error. 😂 I'm just busting ur balls bro, don't take me too seriously ok. but on a real note, ya my left side gets used alot.

Ironically, I'm a rightie and yet I use my left hand a lot too! For things like eating, holding things, one-handed typing, and playing drums. It probably is an animation error because if you notice, the headstock on his guitar switches from facing the left to right to left again. Case slightly open. XD
Well... As a leftie I gotta say I use my right hand for many stuff, such as typing and using scissors XD Also great eyes! I hadn't noticed that.
