I really can’t get enough of this song and Frazey’s vocal delivery. Just awesome. If you haven’t seen the video for Done, I highly recommend it. Helps to flesh out the lyrical intent.
I am a recent fan of Frazey Ford. Her music is truly wonderful. My only complaint is I can't really hear the lyrics even with dialogue on which is sketchy at best. Perhaps that could be rectified?
She hasn't in a bit, but she used to venture down to Seattle at least once a year, and SHE'S VISITING US AGAIN!!! Yay! At The Crocodile, March 18th. Yippeeeee! Love Frazey!
Please forget the politics and work on the music. The music is hard enough to get right., and it's what listeners care about. You want to do politics, run for office.
Milt Rudy This listener cares about multiple things. There’s a long and potent history of musicians - some very very fine ones - raising their voices to make a difference in politics. Thank goodness they have done so, and may there always be musicians brave enough to speak truth to power through music and lyrics. Why would you want people to stop doing what they are passionate about doing, as long as they aren’t hurting any innocent ones?
@@gabriellee6770 Yes, MLK worked with Pops Staples and the Staples Singers (Respect Yourself etc). Milt Rudy, the band is first rate, the album this song is from has some legendary Memphis session guys on it, one guy wrote Love and Happiness and Take Me To The River with Al Green. If you think there's anything unprofessional (though I have to repeatedly look up lyrics cuz hard to decipher words sometimes) about Frazey or her band think again. She works with the best, tours the world and has done so for decades it seems. She's not talking about running for office, she's talking about marrying their ethos as musicians to a cause they care about. Jeff Tweedy, Bob Dylan, Springsteen, U2, Queen, anyone who ever played Live AID, and more, have done it. Parliament-Funkadelic is all about politics by virtue of its existence. Prince got political on Sign O the Times. And on and on. Billie Holiday sang Strange Fruit. Ever listened to any of these works or artists?
What gem of a talent. Canadian are so lucky to have her.
