  • About 30 years after the end of WW2, Frederick Winterbotham’s book ‘The Ultra Secret’ caused a sensation, with its revelations about the achievements of the Bletchley Park codebreakers.
Dr. Mark Baldwin sets the book in its proper context, and examines some of the effects it produced.
He also explains why serious historians should be aware of the pitfalls and problems in identifying ‘First Editions’, and why this is worth undertaking.

Very interesting and entertaining presentation. Glad I watched this. A fine complement to other Bletchley history. Winterbotham certainly had a unique background. Wish this video had more views.

Quite an achievement to put together a PowerPoint display without even clearing the PowerPoint template ('Click to add ...'). The ultimate in 'hands off'.
