@atlhoe564 I am by no means an Bama fan but they had one bad game and didn't give up a single TD. OSU is an embarrassment of a P5 program for losing like that. Alabama would likely shut out south Bama the talent is night and day different from oklahoma state.

I was shocked to see OSU's DB #5 out there with both legs broken - that's how that first TD receiver got so wide open, and then ran away from him. A few plays later, South Alabama's RB turned a corner and ran away for another TD with #5 standing back, looking on. It WAS a nifty move but I don't think DBs should stand and admire. Oh well... that's how Gundy coaches so we know his coaching works.

Yeah I saw that. I don't know if he was playing hurt or if he had some distractions in his life that robbed him of his focus. He clearly wasn't in the mindset to play FBS level football on Saturday.

I'm a life-long Sooner fan, but my OSU friends and I have always been civil towards each other. I've always enjoyed the rivalry - and after Gundy arrived at OSU there have been some really competitive and enjoyable games. Having trouble understanding how a Gundy coached Cowboy team can suddenly become this bad. By recently stating that he'd like to coach 10 more years seems to imply that he still has some competitive fire in him.
A half dozen or so of these inexplicable upsets happen every season. It was just OSU's turn in the barrel.

Don't forget that at this exact time last year a cupcake team went to the Rose Bowl Stadium to play the UCLA Bruins and lost 32-31 on a field goal with 2 seconds remaining. South Alabama is that "cupcake" that I am talking about.

As a DIE HARD ok state fan, this was just sad. Not even embarrassing, just so sad and disappointed. I love Gundy and what he’s done for our program during his tenure as head coach, but when they cut to him on the side lines, it’s always the same body language with him. He looks like he has lost any fire that may have been there. I know he is a great coach and in years past has done so much with less compared to the other teams like OU and Texas. Idk if it’s because we were hit hard by the portal the last few years or if he’s just tired from years of constantly having to develop talent but he looks beaten and lifeless like he doesn’t care anymore. There’s no emotion or life from him and as far as I can tell it has translated to the way this team plays, and we don’t have enough dawgs to carry the team anymore.

How come OSU lost so many transfer portal players? Every game, it seems, I watched yesterday teams had players from OSU.
Because they no longer want to play for an egotistical mental midget that is Mike Gundy. Most of those players have pretty much said that. O.S. Who's 2024 recruiting class is horrible. Only 13 very low 3-star players . The Stoolwater State Sh*tkickers have not even had a new recruit since July 15 th !!! They are ranked 63 rd in the nation in recruiting.

Gundy has been a terrific coach for so many years. But it's time to move on. OSU has settled into a mediocre mentality for far too long. It's only gonna get worse
South Alabama is a quality opponent. OSU was literally one of South Alabama’s cupcake games. It would’ve been an upset if OSU won.

3-3-5 is an awful defense. I had that when I played ball. The OSU linebackers are horrible. Their play recognition was terrible. Their reaction was even worse.

The DB's were absolute garbage all game. Eyes always stuck in the backfield, took horrible angles to ball carriers & slow. Okie lite is screwed. Bedlam is going to be bad. Which isn't good for the next 10+ years since the game won't be played anytime soon.

Uncertainty over the Big 12s future I think caused a lot of talented players to take stock of whether they wanted to continue in the conference. A lot of them hit the transfer portal. Iowa State lost to Ohio yesterday and Kansas State lost to a less than mediocre Missouri team. Even new member Cincinnati lost to Miami Ohio.
No one with 4 or 5 stars wants to play in those cowtowns.

I also saw Oklahoma state, Iowa state, and Texas tech lose to nobody programs badly. The returning Big 12 champ K state can't take care of business against an sec bottom dweller. The only hope they have is kansas, Ucf,and Byu. All in all, this conference did terrible in out of conference play. UT and OU are they only relevant teams in the ranking this year its kind of sad cause they needed a good year.
