Love the technique with the ink transfer.
But jointers are just dammed convenient.
Have to agree :D
He's buying from a better home center than I can get, or clamping his boards harder than I do. I always match plane it, which gives me nice flat glue ups and just makes the work easier.
Using a jack plane fits in my definition of minimalist, mostly because I started in a shop without power. I am in the heated basement now, so I have some power tools now. But I did once trade a bench top table saw for a cat. The saw was not very useful, but the cat has been a good shop cat.
I'm not a woodworker but I watch your videos all the time. It's just something fan out your personality that makes watching your videos entertaining
Holy crap... That printer trick. Never knew that was possible.
that decal transfer technique is a stroke of genius.
I really like the fact that you include design and manufacturing mistakes into these videos. Half of the fun of woodworking for me is solving problems I've created myself. :)
Also, that inkjet transfer really pops out when you add the spray lacquer. Very cool.
Good tip on the ink transfer. Thanks Steve,
Roland
It looks better because you are getting closer to the Golden Ratio/Rectangle, where the bottom is the square part of the rectangle. Architects, designers and artisans have used it for centuries.
That ink transfer was amazing! I had no idea it could be done so easily.
It really is true that you learn something new every day.
the label sheet transfer was great, i can't believe its so simple and looks so awesome
Steve, thank you, thank you, thank you. This photo-transfer process may be well known, but I had not seen it before. I also scratch build R/C model airplanes, primarily using foam board. This photo-transfer process just solved a ton of problems for me in labeling, numbering and decorating, without adding weight.
I love the little tap´s the hammer makes with sped up footage. Loads of it from that no power tool guy that made the foot powered lathe.
The image transfer technique is ridiculously awesome. I've been looking for the easiest way to do that and I think I found it. I have empty label sheets I throw out all the time so this is ideal.
We can´t forget to thank the sponsors and people in general who supporting WWMM and keep the show free! We thank you!!!
I'm so doing that ink transfer method on everything now
I agree with Jon. the photo transfer was new to me as well. Thanks for sharing, Steve.
dowels dowels and more dowels! those 'labels' make it look old timey, well done!
This is a perfect soon to be gift for easter and upcoming spring.
Nice project. The ink transfer is awesome! It's always fun to watch you work and I love that you don't take yourself too seriously.
that printed graphic! What a neat idea.
I love the method for transferring those images on to wood. I've seen other people do it with laser printers but I think the majority of us own inkjets.
Nice garden toolbox! I have one that belonged to my grandfather. It's 3' long! lol I think he used it for tools at his sawmill in the 1940s. Love the ink transfer idea.
You drove the truck! I wasn't sure if that thing even worked.
Very cool trick with the label paper.
super idée avec l'imprimante Steve ! Un projet bien sympa comme d'habitude.
Un bonjour de la France !
I think what your doing with the make a wish foundation is great they have helped my family alot!
Tool box looks great, with the way you do the printing you could adapt a picture to suit, house hold pluming/craft tools etc., the printing is one of your best tips, thanks
That ink transfer was really cool and turned out really neat. Thanks!
I support the companies that support my favorite UA-cam video. "Microjig Rocks"
Like many other said I never have seen the ink transfer idea! Worked Great!
Its not everyday i learn somthing new. I learned tree nice tips in this video. Transfer, drillguide and dowels. Thanks a lot! Love your work man.
Your shows just get better. Thanks for the transfer tip. I will be using it. Thanks for all your videos.
Thumbs up to this image transfer technique! Very clever!
I also liked the way you transfered the stickers!!!
Love the photo transfer idea Steve. That was great.
That transfer technique is great, I will be using that one. The wife and daughter raise money and do the 60 mile walk to fight breast cancer every year and with that technique I should be able to make some nice things for their fundraisers. Thanks :)
I think Mathias would be proud of that fast hammer action
Considering what iron on transfers cost... This is a super idea and a real money saver. I think you just started a cottage industry. I know you did this just so you didn't have to paint the box hot pink or something. LOL
Nice. I just LOVE the ink-jet technique. Looks GREAT!
Nice project. im going to have to make one for my wife for her garden
Reminds me of tool boxes I use to see on job sites. Nice
awesome way to transfer an image. beats stenciling any day!
nice toolbox made one in middle school bout 16 or 17 years ago and still have it... great idea on the ink print....
Love the dowel pins
THANK YOU! I've been playing around with laser prints and lacquer thinner for about a week trying to get a nice wood transfer. Your label sheet backing trick is awesome!
Hi Sean - can you email me at mdupuis@generationd.com? I have a question about your T1 A/B switch project
What a great photo transfer technique!
That image looks so real, def sharing this
Published 2014 and here we are 2018, how time passes so quickly. Oh, nice box, love the transfer trick.
inkjet photo-transfer technique great thanks... oh yes garden toolbox great too. I have made a tool box with the dowel handle loose.
Steve loving your work. First time I have commented on any of your vids but really enjoying your posts. I don't have the room to do what you do but in the future I plan to have my own wee workshop. Thanks for the post.
Beautiful work for a noble cause, thanks for sharing.
For those who only have old school laser jet printers and a woodburner, The same thing can be accomplished with the proper wood burning attachment that can be picked up at most arts and crafts stores.
Baking paper works as well...; Just tested :) Just have to scotch a piece to a blank sheet of paper to feed to the printer!
What is "Baking Paper"? Parchment paper maybe?
Always like to learn new techniques. Excellent job and nice looking box.
Oh, that looks so cool! An the transfer technique is also a good idea!
One of your best that I have seen.
Great project! Cool transfer idea! Hope you get lots of bids. can hardly wait to see what's new next week!!
Thank you for being great I'm learning so much from watching your videos.
Steve another great project only thing I did differant was cut out most of botom and filled the space with "hardware cloth" so garden dirt water whatever drained away.
Not bad idea: The Tatoo on wood and only with a normal printer. Very cool!!!
great job! loved the idea of putting the whole thing together without metal fasteners. side note, the reason it looks better the second time might have something to do with the golden triangle. i believe you mentioned this before.
That printer trick kicks butt.
Wow I really like that ink transfer. I saw you doing it in the bag dispenser video, but with full image its even better.
Congrats on 200,000 subscribers
Este proyecto esta impecable y bien explicado maestro, gracias Rudy del Perú
Neat idea for the labels.
Nice image transfer technique. Cool stuff.
Love the image transfer!
Hi, Mr. Ramsey. Very nice project! I will have a hard time cutting 14 degrees with my jig saw, this will be the challenging part (never doubt the power of a jig saw!). Very nice your new drill and safety glasses (that´s fashion, ha). Thank you for sharing!
Great video as usual Steve. You are such a nice person!
Very nice to see the works of Steve. I regularly watch his videos and share with my friend. Thanks Steve. I am enjoying the innovation in every work. The transfer of label is superb.
The inkjet transfer tip is awesome. I'll have to remember that.
This guy is great. Always has good information to offer.
Nice and very neat product! I will have to make one like that just a bit bigger. Good Video and worth the time to see who can make it better.
Thanks for sharing the image transfer trick.
Some nice techniques and a good looking project.
i love all your proyects, saludos desde Ecuador
That is a great video and a fantastic project with only one bit of crappy advertising in it, I think you are allowed one bit of advertising to bring a bit of cash in. It would be nice to see you go into a little bit more detail of the way you set your machinery up but over all, you are the man as the You tube woodworking for me! Well done Steve.
Nice transfer of the image!
Great transfer idea. Just keep in mind that inkjet ink is not UV stable and will fade in sunlight. There are UV resistant spray laquers that may help protect the transfer (I have not tried it though).
I love your video's. really funny and educational. That inktjet technique is super!!!
Thats a cool trick with the images! learned something new.
Great work as usual Steve !
Steve
Did you finally wear the safety glasses I sent you? Looks like em. Ha ha! Cool project.
verry beautifful my friend, thanks jacques
Switched to laser printer. I'll have to dig out my old inkjet now!! Awesome results!!!
Thanks Steve. Nice project.
Ok, anyone that hasn't subscribed yet, do it.
And I'm totally doing that image transfer thing sometime.
Very very cool. beautiful project, but most of all I was pleased with how you move the image to the toolbox. this is great! will have to try * - *
Just wanted to add my "excellent job!" to the list. Proud of what you're doing with Make a Wish.
Way to go!
That printing technique is amazing. Also love how the beginning of the episodes start kinda like mp's flying circus with you running towards the camera
That transfer technique is very cool! I instantly tried it out! Works very well. And by the Way ... Congrats to 200k subs.. From Germany with love.. XD
You have a great shop full of wonderful table-based tools. Can you show some of these projects using the hand power tools that us "mere mortals" might have? I can see how I would extrapolate much of what you're doing to my hand power tools, but it would be great to see how a pro like you would do projects with the hand versions of power tools. Thanks!
These are the best videos i have found on projects and woodworking. Simple, straightforward with amazing results. Keep it up!!!!
SPLENDID. and love it...
Love the transfer idea
Steve! Your videos inspire me so much and I love how you make complex things seem much easier! Thanks for all your great projects, I am having a great time going through so many of them since I only just discovered you a week ago! I actually think I could do some of these projects ^_^ Thanks again my friend!!
Hey nice project Steve I really like what you are doing for the make a wish foundation. Also I see you gat a new tool! Nice drill
You can also use freezer paper for the transfer .
Hi Steve, nice tip for the ink transfer ! Very clever ! Best regards from France ( ps: i love purple too, after the purple bench you wore a purple t-shirt !) thanks a lot
This is awesome, nice job. I love the way you got the transfers on there.
This is a case where spraying on the lacquer makes perfect sense, because if you brush it on, it might cause the transfers to smear.
Well done as usual!
