    As a Professor of Finance at a University in the USA, let me add the following: A degree from an Asian University actually carries tremendous value as the entire Asia region becomes an economic leader in the next century. Not only are you paying a fraction of the price of an education in the USA, you are also getting a degree that will have tremendous value as the USA engages Asia more and more in international trade in the future. Going to Thailand for a degree is an incredible deal for any student from around the world!!!!! Yes, I am totally open for my own kids doing something like this.

      Thanks for the post. Getting out of the military this November and contemplating studying in Thailand on the GI Bill. Had a few tell me don't do it because a degree from an Asian university won't carry much weight stateside. This video alone shows the savings cost.

    A very interesting video. My daughter has been studying at UBC Canada remotely from Bangkok, for 1 year. She is 50% Thai, 50% British and 50% Canadian by Citizenship 😁. This year she will study in Canada, but it is good to know that there is the option for her to study in Bangkok if she wants to.

      For scholarships in Thailand, there are several institutions such as Chulalongkorn University, Thammasat University, Mahidol University, and the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) that offer scholarships to international students. Generally, these scholarships are available for both master's and doctoral degrees. And most of these institutions have closed their application processes. If yes, doesnt that make undertaking a bachelor degree as a foreigner impossible ?

    • @thaikru
      @thaikru  2 роки тому

      ED is an education/student visa. If you are going to university it is no issue. If you are learning Thai, then it *could* be an issue if you keep renewing it for multiple years. At some point you do have to show Thai competency to the immigration officers. Understand?

    • @thaikru

      For that particular question - I am not sure. It's best to talk with your agent who is handling your case. Ha! the best universities in Germany and within the European Union do not cost money. As a student you don't pay for transportation, You have a health insurance. Furthermore, you get all kinds of discounts, for your bank, internet, cell phone etc.... You also get two semesters in a partner university within Europe, paid by the European Union. You just have to be intelligent, it's that simple...
    I have never understood why in other countries of the world, people have to pay for education. Education and health insurance are human rights that a good, a really good State must guarantee.

    • @annika6737
      @annika6737 3 роки тому

      @@sunrisejak2709 I live in Germany, studying here is free and funded by the government. We don't have real tuition fees like they exist in other countries but
      you have to pay a semester fee of about $350 though, which includes administrative costs, liability insurance, a public transportation ticket and bike sharing (in my personal case). Here in Europe, a lot of people use public transportation instead of cars that's why students are very grateful for the cheap transportation ticket. Especially in cities, public transport is very well developed and usually more practical than using a car. So, the amount of $350 is not exactly high, especially if you compare it to countries like the USA.

    • @sunrisejak2709
      @sunrisejak2709 3 роки тому

      @@annika6737 Got it. Thanks. So the costs are pretty much government subsidized. And the government I guess gets its money from taxation. So the cost of higher education is I guess spread among the tax payers. Higher education cost in USA is just crazy high. But the cost is borne by the receiver of the education and not the general tax paying society. Not sure which is better. Depends if you are on the benefitting side or paying side I guess. Some people don't like paying taxes on services they font realize direct benefit from. But overall I think the subsidized system seems a bit more practical.

      @@sunrisejak2709 Where do they get the money from? Lol Good question... Through a social system built on prosperity and social harmony and social justice. We live in a social democracy, the principle of a solidary society, has nothing to do with communism, by the way. It's all a consequence of the French Revolution and Enlightenment. If all this had not existed, most people would still be living a serf-like existence. Theoretically, it should work, as you say, through taxes. But, things are often not what they seem. The question should rather be, where does money come from? What is money? When you figure that out, you will understand that it is not the taxpayers who pay for it all. But that is another story...
