Personal experience recently in my church: when sharing some deep injury, they basically tell me it is no big deal & that everyone experiences "it". That response was kind of a slap in my face and my experience and decades of painful consequences being dismissed. To even discuss what I was sharing was difficult & painful. I am thinking of just removing my membership and not attending church. Soooo done! 😢
It is well. As much as you act so, beware of offences, you'll be the prisoner at the end.
To "slight" someone is to insult them.

It’s lack of faith. We need to admit it to ourselves first and then to God. Then with our constant fervent prayers God will heal the root problem (Romans ch1 v17 and ch3 v22).

Grateful to hear the anecdote about the shrapnel wound. Honestly, I think it's partly difficult to acknowledge when hurt still happens like, "But wait, there's more!" Yet, it's way worse to nurse an injury over a longer period of time, as well as to not have the full ability or range of motion of that limb, which then limits the things that could've been done with life. Better to get it resolved sooner than never.

You identify your tormentor by their fruits just like the only way u can identify a true Christian. If your anxious- the spirit is called anxiety or fear. If ur bitter the spirit is called unforgiveness. Most disease names are the spirits names. Ephesians 1 says everything with a name or title is FAR below the feet of Jesus & He is the head- we r the body- names/ titles r far below our feet- why do we tolerate them? Cause we have not been taught correctly in most churches- the only way to get rid of them is to repent for us & our bloodline, renounce & bind them & cast them to the outer darkness ( for reviling God's servant) & tell them to never return again in Jesus name. Holy Spirit can also tell u their names- ask & u shall receive.

For me who has struggled against an addiction, it's matthew 12:43-45. I can resist it and be fine away from it, but if I'm not abiding in christ then it's methodical in how this temptation comes, and when it comes it promises pleasure and fun and says these things in the place of an urge which doesn't come unless your not ready for it. The only way to be free, rather than just resisting, is to abide in christ and trust his power through the holy spirit he has gifted in you.
