But with sketchup pro and rendering styles and shadows it’s much faster and easier, same results basically. I am using this as well. But that’s a lot of work for someone that can just make a few line type adjust w sketchup. And sketchup FX app with ambient occlusion.
Two things that would improve this app greatly with respect to how designers in AEC work. Scale images and pdfs on import would be great instead of nudging and “figuring it out” after import. One step v multiple steps and nudges. Also a proper text tool like it’s 2020 and not AutoCAD release 11 ca. 1993.
It depends on the angle of the pen, you have to draw the lines in a direction perpendicular to the pen. It also gets a lot wider if the pen is more tilted.
So it's April 2021 and we do not have the precision menu. I'm on a tab s7+ but I'm still lacking precise tools in concepts. It's annoying that it takes this long or longer to just port over a feature.
Hi. We're woking on this. You can check out our roadmap here: tophatch.helpshift.com/a/concepts/?s=general&f=android-roadmap&l=en&p=all Thanks for your support!
I didn’t get why architect would need to spend so much time coloring their exported CAD plans. Even though I like Concepts, it just doesn’t look like a best use case
I think so too. Concepts is great, but what he does in the video can be made in any CAD or BIM-Software in less than 10 seconds with higher precision, because it's vectorbased.
simply not everyone is an architect/ can afford specific programs, as well as this is a way to show how to do it on the go, away from your pc if need be. Plus, I think most of us rely heavily on those programs to do everything artistically for us that we dont use our own talents . On the ipad u can at least apply some artistic style to your cad .
Hi there, i tried to scale it base on what you have instructed, somehow the plan didnt change. Is there a factor how the plan saved into jpeg file from autocadd? Because im in a plan for a big project. Thank you
Hi Aris. Concepts will use the measurement from the shape guide in relation to the value you entered to determine the exact scale for your drawing. Anything you draw from this point on will reference that scale, and the accurate measurements will be displayed any time "Measure" is on. You can find out more details about scale and measurement in Concepts here: concepts.app/en/tutorials/scale-and-measurement-concepts/
Yeah, nothing in this video convinced me of the need to scale the drawing if your furniture didn't come in to the plan scaled correctly. There was no apparent value to assigning a scale, other than to add dimensions, and I didn't even see if that was possible. Also, the placement of the furniture was sloppy. There should be an option to lock to orthogonal angles, and if there is, they should have showed it.
Hi Mario. I hope one of these will answer your question: tophatch.helpshift.com/hc/en/3-concepts/faq/34-how-do-i-change-the-scale/?l=zh concepts.app/en/tutorials/scale-and-measurement-concepts/

The annonying thing about using 100% smoothing AKA straight line ruler on a pen that has pressure sensitivity is that no matter what you do you ALWAYS get a line that starts with a light stroke and ends with a hard stroke so it's basically a gradient line from light to dark (transparent to opaque) as you can clearly see in this vid. Always. It can be annoying af. Even if you press really hard at the beginning and not at the end. You have to turn pen pressure of completely to stop it.
I wouldn’t say it makes it useless but yeah, it reeeallly limits what I can do for presentation. I need to export the image and then add text in a layout program. An unnecessary step IMO.
Thanks Evan, it’s always so good to someone really digging what they’re into. Just awesome!
When drawing the wall outlines are you lifting the pen slightly at each corner?
Hi , to use the measurement ) do you have to suscribe to the app ?
Video title is misleading. This is *tracing* a floor plan, not creating one.
it said “rendering”
Just downloaded the app to design my own buildings or at least floor plans. Really excited about the capabilities shown. Still need to learn more
I have managed to scale drawing imported before but have now forgotten. Guide isn't an option on my Concepts?
thanks. realize this is 3 years old, but where are the objects in the Windows version?
They are coming in one of our next major releases on Windows and Android!

A lot of these features aren't still available in Concepts for MS Surface.
Can't wait when precision mode and object import will become available in Windows app. Don't understand why this doesn't happen.
Can you print the plan as a PDF in scale ?
The scale option is not the same in mine
Wouldn't it have been easier to fill the furniture with white, rather than draw the grey floor fill around them?

Hi, here's a guide on how to change tools on the tool wheel or tool bar:
concepts.app/en/tutorials/setting-your-menus-brushes-and-presets/
When will this features come on android
We have a new release coming soon which includes the Text tool. The following release will have the Scale and Measurement tools.
how to have thst kind of toolbar setting on the right side?
Just tap and hold on the side of the tool wheel and move it to the edge of your screen.
I can't find the text tool on on surface pro concepts app
Make sure your app is up-to-date. We just released the Text tool across all platforms with our newest release. You will find it in the brush library.
Following your techniques, I noticed that my "Marker" has a chisel shape when I fill the walls but yours is flat!

Why some features are not available for android?
This is because the Android version is much younger compared to iOS. We're actively working on bringing all the features across.

Can I add custom furniture library
If you're working on an iOS device, yes. On Windows and Android versions this feature doesn't exist for the time being.
Can somebody tell me how to add text to images on Android device and on an iPad
The Text tool is coming in our next release within the next few weeks for Windows and Android!

Your scaling system is not really scaling! I want to scale my canvas to ¼” = 1’ before drawing the first line or importing a file. How can I do it?

How enable guidelines on ipad pro?
Tap on the on canvas precision menu. There you'll find shape guides.

Hav you tried other apps? Procreate or Morpholio Trace?
Yeah, it’s not a replacement for CAD, but useful for presentation of concepts.
