    Got the Lite version at $200 for travel use. The screen size is like the middle seat in the movie theater. The display is sharp for 1080p and very bright, and the sound quality is not bad at all. I was pleasantly surprised with everything. Games even looked great, but there was some glare (this model doesn't have the film cover). If they slim down their glasses and get it to 1440p, I would definitely buy another one.

    I just bought these during the Amazon Prime day sale and have sent them back. I am shortsighted and these were my first pair of XR glasses. I chose these because of the built in dials to adjust for short sightedness. The problem is, the virtual screens would be sharp but all surrounding "see through" areas would be blurred due to my short sightedness. At no fault of the device, it doesn't work for me as I am unable to see my physical keyboard clearly nor my laptop screen (for extended virtual screen workspace). Having said that, Skywalker app for MacOS is pretty cool, allowing 3 side by side screens in different layouts.

For people getting them I just say consider it moreso as a portable television. If you work away from home, have roommates you share a room or TV with or if you have neck or vision pains from looking at phones or small screens AR glasses is a very viable option. You essentially have a large TV you can fit in a pocket of your backpack.

    I appreciate the innovation and form factor of the Viture One XR glasses, but I’m currently using the Apple Vision Pro with the solo knit strap and a 3D-printed forehead attachment, making it open-face-no light gasket pressing against my face!
    I wear the Vision Pro for 6-7 hours a day for both coding and entertainment, and it’s fantastic now. Apple should have offered this design from the start!
    I was really hoping these glasses would offer better resolution and larger, adjustable virtual screens so I could easily throw them in my bag or leave them at the office. Maybe the next generation will?
    It’s still a pretty cool product, and I hope they update the software to support better screen configuration and resolution.

The second way is to use the spacewalker app, which locks the displays in place. So you can move your head and the display (mostly) stays there, still a little drift they will certainly work out since the spacewalker app is very new.

      @@heyaisdabomb No, there's not "a little drift". Currently with Spacewalker on a Mac there is constant drift, it's like looking at a computer screen outside the window of a revolving restaurant. I generally have to press the "Recenter" keys once a minute. I'm not sure this is fixable until some sort of camera is added to the glasses. The display looks great, and without Spacewalker there's no drift, but also no 3DOF.

    How are they for productivity? With an 8 hour work day what is it like using these as your monitor set up?
    I’m not looking for a $600 monitor replacement for gaming or to take a portable handheld Switch and make it less portable, but spend a bunch of money instead of just using my TV.
    What size screen do they actually compare to? These all promote that it’s X inches viewed from Y feet. That size in your vision always smaller than a 27 inch monitor close to your face on your desk at a normal viewing distance.

    • @ruzaroos
      @ruzaroos 4 місяці тому +3

      I don't see anyone wearing these for 8 hours. They are amazing but there is no reason to do that. There is no size screen to compare it to. For instance, if you are sitting on your couch looking at your TV, the field of view of these glasses will be bigger than what is occupied by your TV. If you go and stand in front of the TV about 1 foot away, then the image from the glasses will be smaller. For me these work well because, you see finer detail because the screens are very close to your eye. So the field of view coupled with the detail makes it feel like a large screen for watching movies. It doesn't feel like IMAX, but one of the smaller screens at the corner of the theater sitting in the middle or the back. Another way to describe it is via gaming. I play racing games in cockpit view mostly. Looking at upcoming corners in a racing game in cockpit view is difficult on the 7" Steam Deck. When you use these, the hood of the car feels like it is actually the size of the hood of a car and upcoming corners are easy to see. That's how much of your field of view the glasses occupy.

    • @zero11010
      @zero11010 4 місяці тому +8

      @@ruzaroos Reason to do that ... if it's a GOOD monitor system and functions like the giant screen they say it does ... I should be able to size my windows within the screen size (same as you would with a 30+ inch monitor on your desk).
      Is this ... $600 device a functional alternative to a pair of expensive monitors for me as a software engineer?
      This is a use case the manufacturers promote heavily. But, ZERO of the reviewers talk about it beyond saying it's possible to use it with a laptop. What is it like trying to use this as your monitor to do all of your work? As of a couple years ago ... every option like this on the market was trash. That doesn't mean these are still all bad.
      The most useful metric for talking about screen size is ... X inchs at Y distance. That's what matters. These companies are happy to say it's like a 130 inch screen or a 200 inch screen or whatever. My AppleWatch is like a 200 inch screen .... if that 200 inch screen is far enough away. It's like talking about how fast a car is without talking about the 0-60 time, quarter mile time, or how fast it is around a given track.
      These details matter.

      @@zero11010 As a software engineer who bought these because I'm going back to grad school, and need a portable monitor setup, I can say that you CAN use these, but regular monitors are still much better, and thus why I still use monitors at home. Let me explain.
      I'm still trying to understand the physics of what's happening but first of all, any slight movement of your head means your eyes are in a different place. What /i have come up with is the edge of what we see in the real world is in our peripherals and the edge of the world with these glass, i.e. the edge of the display, is visible, so any head movement is very noticeable. In the real world, we can move our head and never notice the movement because the peripheral part of our vision.
      Another aspect is these use a 3DOF sensor, so we don't have the only 3DOF that the vision pro have which would help stabilize these movements and make them less noticeable.
      Basically, the biggest problem I have is slight movements can result in very short temporarily blurry text (not always, but sometimes), and you really notice head movement (slight movements feel way more dramatic than a real screen). If you have a head rest, this isn't really an issue. But if your free hanging your head, it's hard to hold your head perfectly still.
      Bottom line, yes they can be used in place of monitors, but I personally only use them when I'm out and can't really bring monitors with me. I find it's more comfortable and intuitive to use monitors at home. It's not quite as magical as the marketing portrays it to be, but it's very interesting tech and I don't regret buying it.

    • @heyaisdabomb

    • @ruzaroos
      @ruzaroos 4 місяці тому +1

      @@zero11010 In this context, the detail is the field of view covered by the displays in the glasses. This is possible because the glasses are always the same distance from the wearer's eyeballs. Monitors can't articulate a field of view measure because they have no idea where you are going to position your body relative to the monitors. If your 32" monitor is only 1080P, then yes you can tile windows with it. If you have 2 1080P monitors, that's 3840x1080 and no you will not recreate that multi-tasking environment in the glasses. The glasses are not meant to replace a monitor in places where you could be using a monitor. The glasses allow you to bring a monitor wherever you go. They are better at replacing TVs than monitors if you watch content alone anyway. Once these glasses are 1440p and definitely when they are 4K, I have no use for a TV. I connect mine to an Apple TV using a $30 adapter from Amazon and don't turn on my TV nearly as often. They are my preferred way to watch movies at this point.

      Probably coming in the next year or so though, ARM chips are being produced on a mass scale now (ie M1 or snapdragon x elite), they will eventually reach devices like this probably as we get into 2025 and they will improve energy efficiency and thermal performance dramatically for compact devices like this. We are very much in the middle of a big technological change with the chip evolutions and AI innovation.

    Trying to pinpoint what I hate most about this video... It's probably the fact that you're reading the whole thing and nothing comes across as heartfelt or authentic. A close second would be the fact that someone actually paid you to do this. But what really makes me sad is that humanity has devolved to a point where this is, not only acceptable, but someone's standards could be low enough to like it.

      quick question, if the glasses had twice the capability and viture asked €1160 for the renewed glasses. Would you really buy them for 4K 120HZ/ €1160? it's not like viture is going to upgrade the glasses for the same price, and i know plenty of monitors that do 4K 240 for less than €1160. Don't you? the current pro XL glasses cost €580 so twice the capability would mean double the price.
