On your router do an dhcp reservation
Just find the mac address of the printer, that way the printer will always get the same ip address

pandu pujo the mac address is embedded on the wifi device, is like the fingerprints for humans. The mac address is not going to change. If you access the device on the web interface or ping the device should be able to see the mac address the. Do a dhcp reservation on your wifi router, or you can manually configure the ip address on your device then do a dhcp ip exclusion. Either way works.

very happy with my flashforge finder! I can still remember the feeling of ACTUALLY owning a 3d printer! I think now I'm close to 850+ hours printing time, unbelievable :) Flashprint is pretty ok,but these days I use simplify3d, since it performs better. I just load the output from S3D into flashprint (it stores as .gx, I have to manually change it to .g) and print from there. If only I could connect simplify3d to my finder over wifi, than it would be my ultimate solution.

I've noticed by sticking to 500g filament spools that fit inside the unit and avoiding using external spools, I was not only able to use filaments that previously didn't work but it also got rid of that clicking noise. I think the motor that feeds the the filament isn't powerful enough.
Now, all of my prints, regardless of filament chosen, print amazingly well. I still buy 1k spools, I just now simply off load half of the filament onto a smaller 500g spool.
I even built a contraption using an Arduino board, USB camera, a servo and an old RC motor. Basically you insert the 1k spool into a machine that looks like an old projector and than an empty 500g spool on the other side, Than while it spools the camera measures out a preprogrammed length, when the length specified reaches it's length, the motor stops and than a servo connected to an exacto blade clips the filament at a 45 degree angle. Everything was printed out using the Creator.

  • @kamakairade2402
    @kamakairade2402 3 роки тому +5

What caused the issue? Switching from PLA to ABS and back. The spool change function doesn't heat up (long) enough to clear out all of the ABS from the nozzle, and the next print lowers the temp so the remaining ABS solidifies and blocks it. Easy workaround is to use a seperate head for each filament material. Hard workaround is to heat a hex wrench with a torch and go fishing.

There was a problem with the MAC address randomly changing causing the IP address to be re allocated. This was fixed with a firmware update that may not have been publicly advertised but was easily found on the forum.

The reason why I picked the creator pro over my only other option in this price range, the zortrax m200 3 years ago that it's open and easily modifiable, this feels like a complete retraction of why I picked flashforge on top of a smaller build volume to boot.

Devon, the fact they use one motor and a belt to drive de Z-axis is for sure the best option to my opinion and sould by used by many more (low cost) printers.
Using dual motor creates the possebility to misalign the Z-axis when power is shut of from the motors.
With a belt you can never lose position between left and right side on Z-axis

There's definitely a market for an out-of-the-box ready to run home printer but I'm not sure it's at this price point. My wife has a Flashforge Finder that she loves. It does everything she needs and doesn't require much fuss to run or maintain. She doesn't like to tinker or print mods or spend time tweaking slicer profiles. She just wants to turn on the printer, load a cheap roll of Hatchbox PLA and print up a few makers coins or other crafty mom/teacher items. At $300 I thought the Finder was a bit spendy for what it was but she likes it so it's all good. The Adventurer 3 would need to be far less fussy for me to drop $450 on printer with a 150x150x150 build volume, dodgy cooling and a closed architecture. BTW... Be careful or at least aware when buying Flashforge products on Amazon. Their factory warranty seems to exclude printers purchased on Amazon for some reason - flashforge-usa.com/pages/where-to-buy-flashforge-products

Spend some test print to investigate the clicking sound. The primary cause is the bowden tube, when the print head move from extreme corner to other corner. The bowden tube just flexing and pushing the filament back, so the feed gear lose the grip and clicking. There is 2 solution so far, change the feed gear with grippier gear and lock the bowden tube in the printer ceiling with a tape so the bowden tube doesn't flexing too much

I've had this printer for months and only had the clicking problem happen with glow in the dark pla. Only other small issues is the completion time always being off on bigger prints and the extruder slightly leaking and having to pull the filament right before it touches the bed. Also adding a spool holder is a must in my opinion since it can't hold 1kg spools.
I honestly love the printer though and its been super user friendly for me. Converting files from thingiverse or autodesk is super easy, settings are super simple, and changing any filaments take no time at all.

I just bought an Adventure 3 V2 to use as an ABS printer at our makerspace. It did a great job printing the test block with PLA. Somehow I missed the fact that this printer only takes small spools. Try to find ABS on 0.5Kg spools. The only source was FlashForge. The cost of the small spools of ABS is about 4x the price per gram than the 1Kg spools! Since we are a makerspace with a large spectrum of users, using an external spool holder would certainly lead to disasters. So, back to Amazon it goes.

I have a box of different color fillamenta and when I have a good setting for 1 color, its bad for another color, even though its the same spool. I also had to creat a mod for fillament spool. They changed the HotEnd with a new one with a PEEK insert on it. You can spot it also in your hotend so you have the updated one. With the older one it was a pain to print... really. Why is clicking ? If you take a look inside the hotend, the fan is not enough for making an efficient thermal barrier, this is why they added a (brown) peek insert.

At least the single wheel runs the correct way. creality hotbeds radial bearings run with sideways load, and no adjustability for sideways play. My ender 2 rollers had almost 1mm sideways movement. The bed was wobbly. I often get gaps between walls on my ender , and it usually won't stick to hotbed without glue.
I haven't noticed feeder skipping on adventurer 3 with hotbed at 60°. The skipping starts if I use less than 60° hotbed on 100% infill parts. I use flashforge finder pla and Clas Ohlson 1kg pla spools.

Stock flashprint sparse infill print speed at 100% is simply to high for this machine, flashprint also use 108 extrusions ratio, (slightly under sized hardware nozzle) and 30% overlap. It will create to much pressure for the filament feeder, especially with 100% infill at 100% sparse infill print speed. Skipping issues with third-party filament is because of the settings. I think they intensionally made it harder to print with third-party filament. Adjusting flashprint settings will make it much easier.

Thanks for the tip, Im considering this as my 1st 3d printer and I have a local JayCar near me.
Either this or the Ender 3 v2, still cant decide after watching and reading on reviews for both.

@@TN_AU If you want an assemble yourself, easy to modify and bigger buildplate go for an Ender, if you want a "box" that comes pre-assembles its like something you just feed and tell it what to do then get a Flashforge.
I had to buy a replacement nozzle for the Flashforge the other day as fillament got badly jammed and because of its design its not really an easy self service. I ended up getting a nozzle V2 which worked better than what I've seen and the quality is much better, the clicking sound that you occasionally hear is now very minimal I would suggest buying from Flashforge if you don't mind shipping cost and its in stock and use JayCar for supplies because you are most likely to get a V2 Nozzle with the printer as JayCar have older versions in stock.
In conclusion, the Flashforge is more user friendly but has limitations with sizes of build, you also cannot print flexable fillament. The Ender will be more on the painful side if you run into issues but in the end I wish I bought an Ender because only being able to print 15cm x 15cm is very small, you also can't print right to the edges on the build plate.

For the IP address issue (6:25), the solution is to contact FlashForge support (www.flashforge.com/contact?par=message) and request a firmware update to correct this issue. They sent me a fix which to my knowledge was released in Jan 2019 and when I applied it the issue was resolved. Using the WiFi makes it just that much easier/fun to use!
If you want to save time here is a direct download link to the firmware update (ln.sync.com/dl/065d93420/enu5jv2d-9xe8g494-sh288hkq-7x5tj6cq ), just extract the files to a USB key, insert into the printer, reboot the printer and voila! The issue is solved and a constant IP address is displayed even after a reboot.

1 sided cooling duct? Do the designers live in a bubble ignoring everything the rest of us see on a daily basis? For the target audience it should have already had that duct upgrade as standard.

My Geeetech E180 also broke after couple of months. It did give me the most smoothest prints ever for a long period of time, & one day suddenly it decided to have issues with every PLA filament ever produced on this planet :) Now, its used as a drawing bot after i designed & 3d printed a new assembly to replace the hotend with a pen, which i thought was the best thing i could do to make use of it instead of letting it die in some corner of my home .... Amazing video as usual dude, HighFive all the way from Dubai..!! 🖐🙂 P.S: You can watch the video of my modified E180 here : instagram.com/p/BzVNigHFXis/

To me, if a printer will not work with generic filament, it's not worth buying. I'd rather people rate a printer on 3rd party consumables rather than the ones the company supplies.

  • @yfaykya
    @yfaykya 4 роки тому

I want to like this printer but can't. Too many niggles for something that can't easily be remedied. I'm surprised the review did not mention that since release flashforge released a newer hotend cartridge that eliminates some of the heat creep that causes the clicking. Also no mention of the propierty gcode format.
Also "bed leveling" (one point in middle of bed - just z offset calibration) is done on cold bed. No mention of flashforge pita method to "level" bed (watch their video on z screws calibration). No method for back to front leveling except layers of tape under the roller on right hand side.
It is worth mentioning that removing nozzle cartridge also requires a reboot of printer as thermistor will not work.
Also seen as you mention webcam as a feature you should point out that this is only when using cloud printing which seems very dodgy to me! Can only access your webcam from a flashforge server!!
    Close but no cigar.
