I come here in remembrance of Graham Taylor... What a man, what a truly amazing man he was; he saved our club on so many occasions, brought our club to the First Division from fourth and even got us 2nd place behind Liverpool in just 5 years, a truly wonderful man. RIP Graham Taylor.

First time I saw this montage on the Beeb's FA Cup Rewind it caught me off guard a bit and I found myself shedding a little tear at the end. Came to it just now after hearing the sad news and wept profusely. And I'm not even a Watford fan! But to me, this video proves why Football is so powerful. And Graham Taylor was a man who just... GOT Football.
(At least we still have Kate Bush.)

This brought back some great memories from Vicarage Rd during my days chasing the Horns all over the country. Me and 14 mates who used to go to all the away games started up the Rookery in the 1967-68 season as we were fed up with the Vicarage Rd moaners and the half way liners in front of the Shrodells. We had vociferous support at away games, but home games sometimes resembled a morgue, so we adopted the Rookery End as our home. The terracing was a bit shallow but we managed to kick up a hell of a racket in there. It became a fortress, only breached by Millwall one evening and the North Bank Highbury who turned up when they were not even playing us. The only other exception as far as I can remember in those early days was when it was turned over to Man Utd for the all ticket F.A. Cup 4th round replay in 1969. Happy Days - Mickey, Mickey Walker!!

Not a Watford fan but saw this on the Beeb's FA Cup Rewind and actually shed a tear. Partly cos I love Kate Bush but mainly because it's a story of pure footballing and communal joy.

Started out watching football at Vicarage Rd season 1970-71. The star players in those days were Keith Eddy, Barry Endean (who scored the goal that beat Liverpool in cup quarter final), Tom Whalley, Stewart Scullion. Mike (or as we knew him Micky) Walker was in goal (later it was Andy Rankin), Duncan Wellbourne, Ray Lugg...I remember one game when we beat Reading 5-0, Endean scored a hat-trick but the fog was so think we didn't see any of them

The 6-0 hammering of Donny - I seem to remember Ross Jenkins scoring a hatrick despite blood pouring from a head wound.

Brilliant memories....my first game was Watford against Doncaster too in 1978, I think it cost me (as a 10 year old) 50p for a seat in the old Shrodells Stand!
