This show is so underrated. A good Dungeons and Dragons style fantasy with good characters and good action. No harem BS, not overly edgy, just a good story.
I agree! I love how they respect the old formula and make all the characters feel so “human”. With the things that are happening impacting them in significant ways. As a Dungeons & Dragons old school fan (relative, D&D 3.5 and Pathfinder 1E for me), I love how much it feels like a homage to the classics!
Later in the story, Gus asks if our protagonist has done the standard tropes yet, like saved a FEMALE warrior or knight that joins him in battle, saves a FEMALE merchant that helps him out with business, and saves a FEMALE noble or royal lady from a poor or fallen nation... needless to say, those who know will laugh about this, and so did Gus that our protagonist had indeed done all those things.... but they are all dudes, and two of them were standard 10 ft way from the exact conversation
Watch The Faraway Paladin: The Lord of Rust Mountain here! got.cr/paladins2e3-yt

I love this anime it really feels like we're living a true adventure
I like to think those two scenes happened immediately after each other, so everyone watched the King put his armor on.
