I made one for myself as plus size! Thanks for this video, here is how I made adjustments.
I'm plus size, my waist is 41", height 5'1".
I made this bigger by changing to 13" instead of 11.8" (from apex to waist only, not the other 11.8" for crotch, for that i retained 11.8"). i computed based on circle skirt waist computation.
The rest, i followed the same dimensions as shown in the video. Size was perfect for me.

@@krystalflores1555 Generally you would just use your waist measurement plus an inch for seam allowance. Try it on before stitching the waistband closed and if it's too loose you can just overlap the ends of the elastic to take it in. If it's too tight then you can take some space out of the seam allowance. Elastic is pretty forgiving. The wider the elastic the more comfortable it will be.

Я себе в молодости шила такие юбкАшорты))). Летние были из тоненького трикотина, а зимние из тонкого шерстяного драпа. Это был кайф! Никакой питерский ветер бы не страшен! И никто визуально не догадывался, что на мне не юбка, а брюки. Не задиралсь, не перекручивались. Сапожки на шпильке, тёплая курточка - я королева! Да, было... но прошло)...
А почему сейчас не шить и не носить, пусть даже не короткие а ниже коленка и не шпильки, а красивые полусапожки.Сейчас наоборот всего модненького с обуви навалом.Так что творите и не обабитесь,а то в фуфайку залесть ,что ли.💃😊👍🇧🇾
@@user-zl2wy3gk4h 😊😊😊 можно, конечно, и сейчас. Но у меня много другой любимой одежды. Я боюсь, что до юбкОшорт не дойдёт ход. Короче, будут валяться, да и всё. Всему своё время. А что касается "обабиться"... У меня, конечно, есть 4 внука, но когда идём со старшей внучкой, многие думают, что я её мама))).
А-ля семидесятые,юбка шорты назывались ,потом Бермуды,удобная штука,кстати !👍🤗
В семидесятые носили короткие юбки. А это начали носить во второй половине 80-х

@@liudmilash.5696around '76, skirts went longer in my part of the world. We went from mini to just past the knees. A couple of years later, we went from bell-bottom pants to straight-legged designer jeans.
Для Сб 96,без сборки по талии ,длина получится примерно 55 смЗаднние половинки на 1,5 - 2 см поднять для баланса,выступ 10 см,расход тк 1,5 м.По косой снять низ на пару см или добавить ктому месту где долевая и поперечная,будут длинее.На большие размеры брать надо метра 2

This is so smart. And these look like a lot of fun. I'm already trying to figure out how to size this up for myself. I'm a plus sized lady. My only ask is, why no pockets? Some of the waste you trimmed away for the waist would have worked perfectly. With such big legs you'd never notice the pockets in the lines of the garment. Pockets are such a big upgrade, and one of the best things about making our own clothes. Still, Thank you so much for the inspiration. The cutting method you used is very smart.
You would have to cut side seams. There are no side seams in the layout.
@@dbnkan true, there would have to at least be holes cut into the sides to I sent the pockets, but I personally don't feel pockets to be optional. It's a personal preference but one that I feel strongly about.
You could put pockets on the front. Some oversized pockets with cute buttons would look good and you dont have to create side seams.
Where you able to figure out how to up size this? I'm new to sewing and her designs seem so simple as well as the style being what I'm looking for but figuring out how to up size has been a challenge.

If I had to guess, and I’m not an expert, I believe the curve that has the piece cut out for the inseam is going to come out to be 1/4 your waist measurement.

I'm hoping for others to comment on a discovery I made about this culotte skirt, especially if I'm wrong. Because I haven't found a desirable fabric that is at least 57 inches wide, I started playing with a small mock-up made of LINED notebook paper. My goal was a layout that works on narrower fabric, which is much easier to get. In the process, I came to realize that the pattern, as shown starting at 1:09, which is cut through four layers simultaneously, leads to conflicting directions in the fabric grain. If you cut it as shown, the grain for one face of the garment (let's say it is the front) runs on the lengthwise grain at the center front, and the other face (the back) sits 90 degrees opposite, crossing the lengthwise grain. Simply put, if this pattern were done in striped fabric, stripes would run vertically on the front and horizontally on the back. The grain discrepancy is not obvious because the video shows a very non-directional fabric. But I think the garment could end up hanging funny. I plan to add side seams to revise the pattern and make the lengthwise grain run consistently up the middle of the pattern piece from the center of the hem to the center of the waist. I will not be cutting the pattern on the fold at all. I wish I could sketch the cutting layout here.
I've spent more time on the pattern layout and did not succeed in fitting it onto narrower fabric. It can, however, be laid out on 57" wide fabric, using 1 1/2 yards of fabric, in a way that uses the lengthwise grain consistently, front and back. Skip the way Mia folds the fabric. Instead, leave the fabric folded with selvage edges matching, and then cut out the pattern piece shown in the video twice. Some may want to place the 22" long straight edge on the fold. Others may want to add a seam allowance on that edge, and place the pattern on the lengthwise grain as I mentioned above. The second option also allows you to add pockets.

@@debbieocampo3795 I think the video is just using a normal cotton, but the comment about directional fabric means that if you have striped fabric, for instance, the stripes won't all be going the same direction in the finished product with this pattern

САМОЕ ГЛАВНОЕ - нужно было пояснить на какой размер эта выкройка, и для х/б тканей, тканей из натурального шелка нужна обязательная декатировка (увлажнить и погладить, или постирать), иначе после стирки изделие даст усадку и размер уменьшится :-( .
Зачем вам её размер? Все и так понятно. Если умеете шить "солнце-полусолнце" то и размер найдете из радиуса. Человек поделился идеей пошива, а обьяснять вам элементарные вещи про декатировку цели видимо не было))

Только в журнале брать выкройку, или заказывать выкройку по своим меркам.
Нужно скорректировать выкройку с учетом ягодиц и выступающего живота, если он присутствует.

@@kara_7790 этот способ не всегда себя оправдывает, т.к. в ношеных брюках, и не только в них, происходит деформация ткани. Да и новые ткани все разные по растяжимости, усадке. Особенно сейчас, когда полностью отсутствуют ГОСТы. Хорошо бы построить основу, отработать ее и уже потом конструировать с учетом особенностей ткани и модели. Брюки - особая группа, любые ошибки в конструкции, технологии, пошиве могут подпортить изделие.
Самострока и так полно. А вот по-настоящему классной одежды все меньше.

Se coloca el caucho por la mitad de la kadera más ocho con costura incluido.. Reforzado.. Pero otro caucho se puede mitad de kadera.. Ambas quedan bien eso hago yo

You use your measurements,no altering them in by a few inches and get the amount of fabric you need to make the garment ,add a few inches on the leg lenght if you like longer leg coverage.
