4.1m views?! Wow! Well done @wellaeducation loved this look even though I was trying to keep a ‘neutral’ look during application I was super happy to be a part of this look!
@@tanyal7382 great question, my hair seemed totally fine after this, I remember being really soft. The volume and the way the color was put on seemed to cause a lot less breakage than I normally get with foils etc.
By far, the best balayage artist I have seen! I saw Eric at the Wella Studio Freelights hands-on class and he is such a great speaker, educator and like I said- artist! He has really helped me perfect my technique! The lightener and it's consistency are amazing!!
Thank you for your explanation. Easy way to work and good results. I love the way you section the hair and also apply on hair. Perfect. Please share more your experience and techniques for the balayage if you could.
Hi My haircolor is a mix of wella 3N (dark brown neutral) and 4N (medium brown neutral). So, my hair is on the darker side. I am looking for natural-looking highlights. Is Blondor Freelights the balayage system for me? Of so, what mix of products do I use? Or, is there another Wella Balayage system for darker hair that you recommend? Also, any tonors that you recommend as well? Thanks. Christine
What's the difference between "single point " and "double point" technique? I'm not familiar with the terminology. I have used wella freelights after years of blondor being my go to lightener. I feel I don't get enough lift. I can get platinum using blondor with 20 volume but am lucky to get 3 levels of lift using freelights with 40 volume. Thoughts? I love the final result you've achieved here! Did you tone after?
A great video and a fabulous result. I have a question in regards to bleaching at home. I have been using Wella professional products forever, and have all sorts of them. I am a 7.5 level silver/cool blonde, sort of mousy grey. I use Wella Freelights to do my lightening with 6% developer. I also have Wella Blondor, but when I tried it the result was more or less the same. My hair, although cool looking naturally, tends to pull towards orange. So I am obliged to use toner after. I know it is a usual procedure, but should I be using a higher developer with Wella Free lights ( because to do foils at home is a real pain) to get a higher lift, or...? I let the free lights sit for 1 hour. My hair is fine but very healthy, and I have a lot of it. it is shoulder length. My reasoning for using Freights was that it is milder, soft, doesn't need foils and not as harsh as Blondor, but should I really be using a higher developer? Some say it is more damaging if you go past 30%. Also, should I be using Wella developer or any Igora same strength will do? Sometimes I use what I have. Thank you for the answer. Jen
The effective time for bleaching agent is 40 to 45 minutes in room temperature. May apply heat is for faster process for half the duration time. Results may vary depends on hair colour e.g. natural or coloured hair. And the levels of shade of the hair e.g. dark brown or light blonde.
+Andy Chong I'm a retired licensed cosmetologist and I've been using born blonde for years or Loreal but I do sectioning similar to what you do. Sometimes it gets a little orange tint but I leave it on for an hour (timed) and a plastic bag on my head. I get compliments on the uneven darker roots. Thanks!
Well, you may consider a "perfect imperfection" for the uneven tone. Haha... Meantime, you may look for shampoo for Blonde or silver hair. It makes your hair looks amazing shine. Any brand is ok. Try it!

As long as the clips are made from a non reactive/inert metal such as aluminium, there will be no issue. No reaction, the metallic thing refers the metals such as copper or brass, even silver, which will change the formations result significantly
He used a 40 vol! Ouch. Low and slow guys. Emma just has super healthy hair, but that's too damaging for most hair types, and unnecessary. Just wait longer
All of that and no close up shots of the top of the head? Or going through sections to see what the technique developed? You even cropped her root area out of the video in the 8 second reveal 😂
Pre tone? Why? From my experience toner is a waste. If the hair of lifted correctly and lifted enough, no toner is needed. Maybe a dark purple shampoo few times a month to help keep the bleached areas bright Never have a heard of pre and post tone?. I also am not a fan of the Ash fad that is happening.
@@Hammerzippy I just don’t see how that could be true. Obviously I don’t have as much experience or know how but personally I always require toner since theres some degree of brass I don’t care for that no amount of purple shampoo can get it out.
OMG!!! 40 vol on a natural blonde hair??? Her base is 6 or 7, so she doesn´t need deco. You would have the same result with color 9 and 20 vol peroxide. And the most imp, with no damage!!!
Mehh - the results could have been better - I had to brighten my settings on my laptop - which didn't help since the color appeared muted or dull and not bright and shiny. And way to blended - nothing popped. As well the final result - well ......we couldn't really see properly as the camera work was poor. End result: sectioning was good. Application was good.
Did you tone heavy on the Ash side? I was expecting to see much brighter sun kissed highlights. I love free hand, I do my own and I am not some yahoo with yellow and orange hair ( although I have been there, lots of trial and error over the years). I am not sure why the super Ash is a thing. It takes away from the sun kissed look. It makes the color way to dull. Hair lightens with a beautiful warm undertone. Natural or warm doesn’t mean orange or yellow . It means bright and naturally lifted looking literally kissed by the sun. The Ash gets me every time. It looks super fake and dull. ( not so much this women’s) but over all The grey super ash trend will fade out at some point. I will love to see more warm and natural blondes again!!

Excellent technique, with results amazingly flattering and natural.
what is the color shade used after this cut down process??
hmm.. i wonder why they cut out the base from the result clip... that's the most important part...

Did you tone heavy on the Ash side? I was expecting to see much brighter sun kissed highlights.

( not so much this women’s) but over all
The grey super ash trend will fade out at some point.
I will love to see more warm and natural blondes again!!
it helps me though
