Ozarks native here, but I took a long West Coast road trip last September through here the day after Labor Day, in fact. Came down from Soldier Summit on US 6 and up 15 from Spanish Fork all the way through SLC metro into Idaho. I noticed 15/80 seemed to be dualled instead of duplexed, yet for some odd reason at the northern split my Waze screamed at me to take 80 west instead of 15 north, why I have no idea. It was early afternoon, traffic was heavy but moving literally at racetrack speeds most of the time. The mountains (Parleys Canyon on the east, Jordan Narrows in the south, the lakeshore on the north and west) funnel everything either N-S along 15 or E-W on 80 with only a few ways in or out of the valley. It makes for spectacular views but sometimes hair-raising traffic. Also, why exit at 215 and end the video instead of going up Parley’s Canyon on 80 East? That’s one of the most epic stretches of highway in and out of a metro area in the entire country.
@@MileageMikeTravels I’ve never been. But one of my best friends was a truck driver out of SLC a few years back and she spent a lot of time and miles there. I have it on good word that no, no lights until you reach the 215 interchange near the bottom, but going west just past 215 the canyon opens up and you can see the valley spread out as far as the eye can see. Theres also some incredible viewpoints in the mountain summits above the valley as well. It is a formidable climb whether going up or down.
Wow, that nighttime scenery is just absolutely heartwarming. I wish I was there.
Superb skyline views at many points. Interstate looks like it is kept in decent shape. Traffic very light 👍
there's something special about leaving a big city into the dark mountains ahead
Indeed
Love Utah
Salt lake City seems to be a great place to travel to. The Bryce canyon here is also a good stopping point to check out

I figured you wouldn't be able to see much up there at night. Is it typically lit up?

I want to move to Salt Lake City so bad. I heard traffic flows most of the time.
Yeah it's mostly good but I-15 can get busy around rush hour.
I feel like the cities in the eastern part of the U.S. don't light up their streets and freeways like the western cities do.
Yeah plus the mountains and the valleys have a nice visual effect out here.
watching his other videos, dont even watch these anymore, so tired of utah,,
Same he should go to California
