This game is absolutely amazing loved the 1st edition, love the 2nd edition with its additions of rules and players, but Mel is absolutely a legend in the commentary booth. I really hope she gets to come back sometime.
She's awesome, sad Daren Sammy isn't back but Mel is a great addition. Stoked for Daren as well on getting the big job.

@@chrism7574 It's sad you just assumed I didn't know Shay has been putting on an act. I know KMac & Trevor do a similar act. Still doesn't mean that Shay didn't mean what he said about Lou choking, because Lou did kinda choke, but since Shay also choked, he has no room to talk.
I have never liked WWE & those 3 guys being fake, role playing the "bad guy", gives me that same cringey feeling. I have no appreciation for those clowns circus acts.

I think that a home court advantage to the higher seed would be a good addition to the format. Rather than have who does what (bat or bowl) decided by coin flip, come the playoffs the higher seed chooses to bat or bowl. This would make the regular season games/standings more important by providing a benefit in the playoffs to better regular season teams, but not one so significant that the lower team becomes majorly disadvantaged. I know the pregame ceremonies are part of the fun, but I just think that it could be beneficial to the content for the regular season to feel like it has a bit more meaning to the results, and within the regular season you could still maintain the coin flip shenanigans.
I hope this reaches someone at JM, I really enjoy the content and hope this might be a way to improve upon it
I like this idea. I just left a comment saying how there's practically no benefit of doing well in the first round of games, or suck it up. I was suggesting maybe sitting the bottom 2 teams out of the playoffs too. There's like no urgency in the regular season atp. But look how intense it gets when stakes are on max
I agree. I know Love Yas just won by choosing to bat second but that was absolutely the exception to the rule. Batting first is such an advantage and that being determined by a coin flip feels silly, especially in the playoffs. I saw a comment on another game that each team should have one game where they bat first and one game where they bat second in the regular season. And then yeah, higher seed having choice of the two in the playoffs would be very fair. I love Ball In Play but it does just feel kinda unfair to see these teams that were clearly better in the regular season get knocked out like this as if the regular season meant nothing at all.

This series continues to NOT dissapoint - gawdamn electric factory. Also, Chris Rose has got to be the easiest person to become friends with. Time after time, no matter who is calling it with him, it always feels as though the two have been friends forever regardless of having just met. I love Mel she's amazing and the two are hilarious - thank you Jomboy for bringing in C-Rosey.
Man. Crazy crazy crazy. To be honest, with how pool play went, only 1 team made itbto the semifinals that i expected!! Rotten, 2-0, eliminated. Del Caribe, 2-0, eliminated.

Most competitive and fair sport in the warehouse. Perfect balance of good rules, skills and luck. Good balance between offense and defense. hats off to Jimmy to create this version of that sport. every detail has been thought, great rule evolution from first tourney. As a tennis coach I have 2 extremely good sport / game adaptations for a warehouse mini serie. lmk if interrested.
Almost like T20 cricket, offense and defense are perfectly balanced.

@@Vinny_2157 they did need runs but also were still technically in it. Basically needed all boundaries to even have a chance.. so the one thing you don't do is get run out. Plus if they stay put the better hitter starts the next over at bat which is again what you need since essentially you needed all boundaries needing four 6 and two 4s

Crazy to have back to back tournaments with the same four teams advancing
kind of on theme for how sports teams work. winners win, losers lose. it's hard to overcome that "brand." Then there are teams like Baggage, who just can't seem to get over the hump at all.
It's usually a result of the team makeup, some times are set up where they've got the perfect skill level across the board, other teams might rely more heavily on one or two people to perform. Most teams that rely on one specific person to carry it tend to lose it when opposing teams figure out how to combat it or they don't perform as well one day.
Take for instance Plouffe, he was the dominator of Blitzball till others started getting a lot better and he started having competition, or Luke in Slapball when he could throw really well but once they figured that out, he was consistently blocked and marked by defence in multiple games and it's the same with Lou here. Meanwhile when we look back at previous tournaments teams where it's been balanced across the board have won easily as it's a lot harder to match, like MacFlurry Power and Worm Burners in Floorball or Jomboys team in the Captains League Ball in Play.

Regular season needs to matter a little bit, maybe have bottom teams do a play in to get in the playoffs then make them play back to back against 1 seed, this gives the 1 seed an advantage of playing rested. Idk if it works but something needs to change so the regular matters a little bit

I don't like the fact that you can pretty much stink it up in the "regular season" and then still be in the playoffs and knock out top teams without any pressure.
Extend this a 10-12 team event. Make the bottom 2 or even 4 sit out of the playoffs. Reward the top 2 teams with 1 round of byes. I think that'd be more fair.
OR, 10 team league
- top 5 qualifies,
- top 2 goes to SF automatically,
- 6th vs 7th play-in for the last playoff spot.
- Then the 3-6 play the QF. > The the usual SF and Final. The end....
This would cut down on meaningless games, not add any extra game. And there'd be incentives during the regular seasons to make the playoffs, otherwise it's basically just pre-season, not a regular season.
That's not the point of the warehouse or the captains league lol
Now that we've seen two 0-2 teams eliminate 2-0 teams, I think it's time to address that the regular season doesn't have enough implication (or really any at all). There definitely needs to be a change made for next year's Warehouse Cup so that the regular season isn't completely meaningless.
I think one good solution for this would be to make the bracket double elim with the top 4 seeds starting in the winner's side and bottom 4 seeds starting in losers. This would actually give the teams that performed in the regular season a substantial advantage. There would be 9 playoff games (10 if you make it so the team from loser's bracket has to win twice in the finals, but the Warehouse didn't do that in previous double elim tourneys) which is not significantly more than the current playoff format which features 7 games. Would make the regular season mean something, you heard players talking about it constantly both during the games and in the post game press conferences, no one cared about the regular season and they were all just treating it as practice. Then the teams that went 2-0 get virtually no reward whatsoever and get boned. Can't even really say that bracket seeding is an advantage because they mess with the seeds to avoid rematches. Would highly recommend making a change to the playoff format next year!
The entire season and playoffs is played over the course of like 2-3 days. I don't think it's physically possible to play more when half the players are middle-aged men. Two people already have hamstring injuries, and the quarters aren't even finished.

I'm noticing a lot of people are raising this point, esp considering two bottom teams got by and two top teams basically had no rewards for doing well in the playoffs.
If more games are the problem then I'd make this 10 team league - top 5 qualifies, top two goes to semis automatically, 6th and 7th play-in for the last playoff spot. Then the 3-6 plays the QF. In other leagues slap blitzball and i believe the floor hockey one you got points towards the captains league cup if you finished high enough in the regular season. It is just fine the way it is you get a better record your advantage is playing against a team who had a worse record thus giving you a better opportunity to win your game. That is the advantage just because some favorites lost you don't have to reinvent the wheel

You know this is not baseball to run only after the catch, once you popped up you run regardless of catch being taken or not, if catch is taken then it only out, if not you will get easily single or two runs. Baseball players are still in the mindset that a two outs can happen in single pitch.

I'm not a huge fan of the disparaging chants from the crowd. It goes against the spirit of the warehouse in my mind. Let the players in the game chirp at eachother all they like but the crowd should be cheering for good performances and for close games

I think they wanted to create drama which could in turn bring in more views and make good shorts as if you watch 'More Jomboy' morning meetings they definitely keep track of engagement, views and all sorts of UA-cam statistics. So the whole rivalries and chants creates more of that content than friendly support and constant *"Nice take, Great take!"* calls you hear *all the time* in Blitzball.

For Captain's Cup, I think it could be nice to give 1 point for teams who go undefeated in "regular season". Compared to the points earned in playoffs it is not much, but it seems like it should be worth something. Been a great tournament so far!

Shocker, Joez not understanding that he has to run there, they needed every run they could get. He was ball watching, instead of running and allowing the better striker to get to the plate.

Had to comment as well, major weird energy from some of the cricket players (i.e. Shay) like others have said, for being the worst cricket player on the field he sure talked a lot of smack and unnecessarily focused on one team which brought some of the spirit away from the game. Compare it to Joez and him going from being eliminated every season (lol) to immediately being a positive energy in the stands. Idk just thought that was unneeded energy brought to the warehouse which is definitely competitive but always in good spirit.
Also definitely need to change something to benefit the leaders in regular season standings. I saw someone else point out but allowing the higher seed team to choose whether to lead or chase in the playoffs seems like the fairest and easiest change you could do as opposed to allowing it go to a coin flip.

Would you guys consider ever going back to a double elimination bracket, replacing the regular season? When two 2-0 teams lose and two 0-2 teams win in the 1st round, it just demonstrates how those games don't really matter (and if they don't matter, I feel less incentivized to watch those games in future leagues). With the double elimination, each game would have importance and you'd still get about the same number of games to broadcast.
It matters because the 2-0 teams get rewarded with an 0-2 team. It's their fault for not taking advantage of it.

Don't get me wrong I don't think it would have change the outcome of the game but there was a 6 that bounced off the blue wall not the back wall, and I am almost certain K-Macs bat was off the ground and he was out of the crease when Aaron hit the wicket. Might have changed the energy going into the last inning
Kmac was still standing in crease when aaron hit the wicket so even if his bat was up his foot was down so magically changing the energy from a wicket that didn't matter. Also the ball hit off the blue wall and the back wall hence why it bounced back towards the front of the warehouse. Unless you're talking about dill in the first over of inning 3. That one hit the black wall first then the blue wall
