@@SpenelliSpeaks August is the circus owner and the ringmaster/mc -like presenter as well as being marlina's husband. The movie makes him an extreme jirk and drinking issues, does he have those characteristics in the book too?
I read this book twice and it was fair-to-midland, the poor sap got involved with a woman who had an unfinished tie with a grumpy boyfriend, she had a brief romance with this Polish older man who fed water & grut to elephants while both working at a circus. Apparently, she went back to the old boyfriend and had a fling with him. She was a trapeze artist, the current boyfriend got mad and killed her and right-away they arrested him. Boo
Water for Elephants was an okay read for me but I did enjoy the movie but the book was “ahh different”. So, my vote today is probably The Wreath. Huge hugs Dani🐥
Thanks for the review. I guess I was expecting something like Carnivale-lite. So perhaps something I will pick up whenever it comes to mind and no harm no foul if I never get to it. (Fun fact: in the Film Reese and Pattinson play lovers but were mother and son in Vanity Fair.) Again vote for Kristen.
Omgosh!!! I remember that! (Fun fact: Vanity Fair is my least favorite movie of all time! hahahahahaha - if I really hate something, I will say - that's a Vanity Fair ending.) Hahaha 💙 Love you, Pamela!
@@SpenelliSpeaks I love the India energy. Reese Witherspoon and Ramola Garai are actresses I generally like watching. And it feeds my James Purefoy crush 😆. So I like the movie.
Yes! I loved Kristin! It's so nice to see you again - I know I'm late in commenting - but I've seen you a few times. I'm so thankful for you! 💙 I hope you're enjoying the reviews!
I hope you enjoyed the Kristen review! 💙 And, thank you so much for stopping by! I've seen you vote a few times, I'm so happy you're hear and hope you are enjoying the reviews! 💙
I actually enjoyed how flat the lovers were in Water For Elephants, I believe it was necessary to get the other characters to shine thru....
I remember when this book was all the rage. I enjoyed the film too. Great discussion! I haven't read The Wreath so I'll vote for it.
I always try to skip the hype! 💙
Water for Elephants is one of my favorite books, but could never get into the Author's other books. I vote for the House on the Cerulean sea
Hmmm... that's really interesting! I've not read any of the other books yet. I'll have to let you know! 💙
I hope you talk about The Wreath. How did you find this book? Caught my ear with Norwegian classic.
I know right?! I find all my books at thrift stores - completely random! 💙
The house in the cerulean sea and I loved water for elephants xx
💙
you are so fun at reviews! i need to learn to do better!
Thank you so much! I'm sure you do great! Everyone has their own style! 💙

I thought August was the most interesting character too - besides Rosie. My vote is for House on the Cerulean Sea!
It goes: Rosie, August, Barbara, the clown ... and everyone else... hahaha💙
