There were several fan theories doing the rounds during the first half of the season that he could be their grandson as it showed the future in the late 21st century coupled with the fact that he and Fitz were dressed quite similarly while in space (and there is actually somewhat of a resemblance in appearance between Fitz and Deke)
Sarah Finn i was following those theories. His style in first half of the season is very similar to Fitz. I was convinced that he is their related to fitzsimmons when i saw the framework. Deke built it from scratch with nothing to go on. I was like he definitely is a decent of fitzsimmons.
She wasn't dead. Robin only had a premonition that Jemma would die so she was still alive at that time and they could have had a kid already. Revealing that FitzSimmons had a kid would be giving away too much.

OK so basically, Deke was responsible for buying Jemma's ring. He found one that looked similar to the one that his mother had. I have been waiting for this moment since she first kissed him on the cheek in season 1; from that moment, I knew that fitzsimmons was real, and had a chance. I followed them with joy and sorrow trough all the seasons, from their troubled relation in season 2, through the acceptance of their feelings in season 3, and the proposal in season 5, and now we have arrived here. Aside from the ending of Korra and Aang, I think this is the greatest moment in the history of tv-shows. May you both live happily ever after, with a loving family, Jemma and Leo. You deserve it more than anyone.

i was trying to find the words to say how this scene makes me feel, how much it means to me, but... words... don't really seem like enough. I mean, two days later I rewatched this scene for the hundredth time and happy-sobbed for at least 15 minutes. Y'all don't even want to know about the adrenaline spike it gave me when it first aired... I was shaking so bad. And now almost a week later, I'm still pinching myself. Bravo, AoS.
This season has been just as great if not better than most of the MCU films. And the twist with Deke being their grandson is truly wonderful. All I can say is if these characters don't end up with cameos in Infinity War or Avengers 4, it will be a crying, absolute shame!

This incredible show better last longer than 10 seasons. Its getting better and weirdly darker as the story progresses. If ABC decides to cancel this show, Disney must bring A.O.S to their streaming service next year, same goes for Agent Carter.
I loved everything about this it’s so pure and real and the Deke reveal was perfectly timed and added a special feeling to it all, and AoS nails it with music again
Since day one, I have shipped these two with my entire soul. Went through every single grueling thing they have been through, and it FINALLY paid off. The entire episode had me crying, but it was this part that had me ugly sobbing. Fitz and Jemma looked head over heals in love with each other; Fitz looked so handsome and Jemma looked like an angel. Then the reveal that Deke was their grandson, my feels just took a beating. Side note: that tear Daisy wipes away, I’m choosing to believe that was Chloe actually crying, you can’t fake tears like what Elizabeth and Chloe had with a scene like this.
I don't ship Fitz and Simmons. Their relationship is an abomination to the MCU. I think Daisy was crying because her love for Fitz was conflicting with the wedding. #Fitzanddaisyforever

Every person of the fan base of AOS wants the show to continue for a long time but we can't ignore the possible outcome that it may get cancelled due to low ratings though it has improved immensely. We might have to accept it with a heavy heart. Same were the circumstances during the time when Agent Carter wass cancelled, I felt so burning inside idk how to describe it. If AOS gets cancelled I won't forgive ABC. But I am thankful to all the cast & crew of AOS team that they made this wonderful show. First in the shadows of marvel films the show went to evolve battling hydra, encountering inhumans, saving them from Radical watchdogs& not to forget saving the world even whole of it is against them. They showed true emotions of love in form of fitzsimmons, friendship in form of the whole shield team, selflessness in form of trip&lincoln saving daisy by sacrificing themselves and loyalty when bobbi&hunter chose to resign to save Shield. It is one of the best shows I have followed and to be honest I don't think best is enough to describe AOS. Even if you get cancelled you will always remain in our hearts.

I was teary-eyed with this scene. I was so happy for Jemma and Fitz. And to find out that they would become parents eventually in the same episode made me even more emotional.

Elizabeth( Simmons) and Ian(Fitz) said that they had no idea their characters were going to become a couple when the show started. They were told that they had a sibling like relationship. They found out about Fitz and Simmons future romantically as the audience did. I shipped them from the pilot though. I'm a sucker for falling in love with your best friend stories and theirs is perfect. 😍❤️ The wedding is such a beautiful moment. I was full on crying when I watched the wedding for the first time. Happy tears of course. I hope there is another season because they made me think that Fitz was dead and I was full on sobbing. I couldn't breath I was crying so hard. Simmons left to go find him and I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THAT MEANS. WHERE DID HE GO? The finale ended with Deke being alive so we know Fitz is still alive or else Deke would have blinked out of existence.
Ok so the show has been renewed for a season 6. And we also know that Iain is still gonna be in the main cast. So to answer your question about where did he go : Fitz died but he was only the Fitz we saw in season 5 after he travelled to space in the future. So it means that there's still the "original" Fitz that is frozen in space because when they came back to the present Fitz was still on his way to find the team. So the team is gonna be looking for him in space in season 6 (a bit like for Jemma in season 3). The only thing that is sad is that he won't know that he got married to Jemma and everything that happened in season 5 (except for episode 5). In a way it's a good thing because the Fitz that is in space is from the original timeline and he didn't hurt Daisy. Now let's pray for a second FitzSimmons wedding x)

OK so basically, Deke was responsible for buying Jemma's ring. He found one that looked similar to the one that his mother had.

I have been waiting for this moment since she first kissed him on the cheek in season 1; from that moment, I knew that fitzsimmons was real, and had a chance. I followed them with joy and sorrow trough all the seasons, from their troubled relation in season 2, through the acceptance of their feelings in season 3, and the proposal in season 5, and now we have arrived here. Aside from the ending of Korra and Aang, I think this is the greatest moment in the history of tv-shows. May you both live happily ever after, with a loving family, Jemma and Leo. You deserve it more than anyone.

i was trying to find the words to say how this scene makes me feel, how much it means to me, but... words... don't really seem like enough. I mean, two days later I rewatched this scene for the hundredth time and happy-sobbed for at least 15 minutes. Y'all don't even want to know about the adrenaline spike it gave me when it first aired... I was shaking so bad. And now almost a week later, I'm still pinching myself. Bravo, AoS.
This season has been just as great if not better than most of the MCU films. And the twist with Deke being their grandson is truly wonderful. All I can say is if these characters don't end up with cameos in Infinity War or Avengers 4, it will be a crying, absolute shame!

This incredible show better last longer than 10 seasons. Its getting better and weirdly darker as the story progresses. If ABC decides to cancel this show, Disney must bring A.O.S to their streaming service next year, same goes for Agent Carter.

Since day one, I have shipped these two with my entire soul. Went through every single grueling thing they have been through, and it FINALLY paid off. The entire episode had me crying, but it was this part that had me ugly sobbing. Fitz and Jemma looked head over heals in love with each other; Fitz looked so handsome and Jemma looked like an angel. Then the reveal that Deke was their grandson, my feels just took a beating.
Side note: that tear Daisy wipes away, I’m choosing to believe that was Chloe actually crying, you can’t fake tears like what Elizabeth and Chloe had with a scene like this.
I don't ship Fitz and Simmons. Their relationship is an abomination to the MCU. I think Daisy was crying because her love for Fitz was conflicting with the wedding. #Fitzanddaisyforever

Every person of the fan base of AOS wants the show to continue for a long time but we can't ignore the possible outcome that it may get cancelled due to low ratings though it has improved immensely. We might have to accept it with a heavy heart. Same were the circumstances during the time when Agent Carter wass cancelled, I felt so burning inside idk how to describe it. If AOS gets cancelled I won't forgive ABC. But I am thankful to all the cast & crew of AOS team that they made this wonderful show. First in the shadows of marvel films the show went to evolve battling hydra, encountering inhumans, saving them from Radical watchdogs& not to forget saving the world even whole of it is against them. They showed true emotions of love in form of fitzsimmons, friendship in form of the whole shield team, selflessness in form of trip&lincoln saving daisy by sacrificing themselves and loyalty when bobbi&hunter chose to resign to save Shield. It is one of the best shows I have followed and to be honest I don't think best is enough to describe AOS. Even if you get cancelled you will always remain in our hearts.

Literally JUST finished the episode. I went absolutely CRAZY when i found out it was the wedding scene

ME!! Elizabeth( Simmons) and Ian(Fitz) said that they had no idea their characters were going to become a couple when the show started. They were told that they had a sibling like relationship. They found out about Fitz and Simmons future romantically as the audience did.
I shipped them from the pilot though. I'm a sucker for falling in love with your best friend stories and theirs is perfect. 😍❤️ The wedding is such a beautiful moment. I was full on crying when I watched the wedding for the first time. Happy tears of course. I hope there is another season because they made me think that Fitz was dead and I was full on sobbing. I couldn't breath I was crying so hard. Simmons left to go find him and I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THAT MEANS. WHERE DID HE GO? The finale ended with Deke being alive so we know Fitz is still alive or else Deke would have blinked out of existence.
Ok so the show has been renewed for a season 6. And we also know that Iain is still gonna be in the main cast. So to answer your question about where did he go : Fitz died but he was only the Fitz we saw in season 5 after he travelled to space in the future. So it means that there's still the "original" Fitz that is frozen in space because when they came back to the present Fitz was still on his way to find the team. So the team is gonna be looking for him in space in season 6 (a bit like for Jemma in season 3). The only thing that is sad is that he won't know that he got married to Jemma and everything that happened in season 5 (except for episode 5). In a way it's a good thing because the Fitz that is in space is from the original timeline and he didn't hurt Daisy. Now let's pray for a second FitzSimmons wedding x)
Oh and also Jemma will (maybe) finally hear his proposal and she will know that he did ask her to marry her first.

May actually smiled!! This is an incredible moment for these two extraordinary characters (actually I consider them as 1). I am BAWLING!!! Coulson still called Fitz "Agent" :). Probably my favourite scene in the entire series, and something I have been waiting for for AGES. Thank you Marvel for giving us Fitzsimmons shippers what we want! Their link to Deke was also good but it was a little annoying how he kept interrupting the wedding.
