Don't think so. Nika is literally the whole legend that shakes the world to it's core. Ofcourse Haki is still a tremendously important power. However. It's Luffies imagination that fuels Gear 5. And Haki will only make every attack that Luffy comes up with, hurt so much more. And also things partially goes hand in hand with personality. The persons will is highly important. But both Nika and haki are and embodyment of a persons will.

What if the gum gum fruit was never the power of rubber but imagination, but shanks tells luffy that so he uses it that way. It would also explain how he can use fire it’s true power is imagination not rubber.
Being rubber is a symptom of extended immagination because of its implications of being freer because I can extend my body at my fullest. This would be my reasoning if I were Oda.

Shanks wanted to talk to the Gorosei about Kuma IMO. We know now that Dragon was watching over Luffy as a kid. I'm almost 100 percent certain that Dragon would have talked to Shanks, the man his son was hanging around. I'll go further and say I think Dragon and Shanks are actually in cahoots, and that Shanks used his leverage as a celestial (possibly God's Knight) to restore Kuma's autonomy. That's why Kuma all of a sudden regained his free will after the Reverie.

Truth be told, yes the Red Haired Pirates are monsters but so is the Blackbeard Pirates. In a all out war, I'm betting on the Blackbeard Pirates. Blackbeard doesn't have advanced conquerors but the Quake fruit can rival any attack in one piece. It split sky, land & sea at the same time.

Ive been saying this before we saw it against Kidd, Shanks has visions of the future because his observation haki is so strong and in order ro control it or dull its effect, he drinks a lot when he has to. I think he sees fragments of the future and he prolly told G. Roger that he would die and Roger prolly went anyway even though he knows about Shanks abilities. Not all his visions do come true, but fragments are revealed. He probably saw a vision of Luffy at random and was happy and willing to gamble on that future. Y'all probably hate my theory 😂 but i always thought it would be cool. It explains to me a lot, especially why Shanks is always always exactly where he needs to be or close to every major chain of events, like he was almost at Wano too , close enough to make the admiral flee. He seems to always be in the right place at the right time

One problem with the Shanks is Tyr theory. The losing an arm scene wasn’t Oda’s plan. His editor suggested it last minute to add drama to the beginning of the series.

it is unlikely garling and whitebeard fought on god valley because whitebeard had no scars when he met roger in the oden flashback, and only had one scar the last time he and roger met after roger finished his journey, whitebeard did not get scarred by garling in god valley, maybe they did fight but chapter 434 is not evidence of that because again whitebeard had no scars in the oden flashback which is quite a bit after god valley

Remember, all Buggy wanted was to sail the sea and dive for treasures, but then Shanks "made" him eat the DF, he wasnt happy at all.
Also keep in mind that the power gap between the beginning and end of the story was most likely a little smaller(if not a lot)when OP was still supposed to be a way shorter story.
Buggy also went into the weakest sea and probably relied on his devil fruit entirely, not bothering to use Haki anymore, putting him on rather equal footing with Luffy, quite similar to Crocodile later on.
@@Phantasmen hell nah moria never rivaled kaido. It was literally one panel in the manga and he tried him once, had no chance, and got absolutely bodied. His whole crew was murdered and he barely escaped and then was depressed from there on out and made his next crew almost entirely of zombies.

One thing that didn't fit is the part with Shanks and the Gorosei. The WG knows about Luffys fruit and they are after it over a long time. Also the Gorosei know what this fruit is all about, which is the reason for them to hide the real classification of that fruit. They feared Luffy would defeat Kaido and worse awaken his fruit, but their action led to that. Shanks could have also talked about Bonny or other Pirates, that are in the current arc, but that is only a guess, but the Gorosei didn't needed Shanks to tell them, what fruit Luffy has.

If Shanks is a D., then he would have been killed on the spot when he talked to the Gorosei regardless to his connection with Figarland. To me Shanks has always been the Steward of the Pirates (think of Denethor from LOTR), it explains every single one of his actions regarding to Nika (Luffy), why he is hell bent on eliminating Teach, and why he obliterated Kidd without even trying when Kidd involved innocents. If no one is worthy then Shanks becomes the King and this is speculation on my part but I believe Shanks is stronger than Roger or at least equal because of his quest. Shanks is very calculated and he is strongest pirate rn imo
You contradicted yourself. If he is a D and also the strongest then how would he be killed so easily by the gorosei? No one doubts his fighting ability and has been known as one of the strongest in he whole anime since the marineford arch. He literally had a fight with Kaido to stop him from going to marineford and then turned up and stopped the war with his words showing how feared and respected he is by both marines and pirates

I think Green Bull wasn't scared away only by Shanks haki. Green Bull tried to use the advantage of the injured crew. Taking on an injured new yonko Crew and a totally established and not injured yonko with his crew is just too much for him. Green Bull didn't seem to fear Shanks at all.

I also have a theory that black beard will consume imu sama as his 3rd devil fruit, as he's only lacking zoan type.
Lets put a hot take here, so people will remember:
1. I think that if you awaken your devilfruit (maybe just be zoans), your souls become one.
2. It is said that you cant eat two df because it would cause the souls of devils to colide and that instantly kills you.
3. If 1. is correct, that means if you awaken the df (or mb just zoan) and your souls become one it resets 2. and you can obtain a second df.
4. Blackbeard took years to become important and is the oldest of the worst gen.
5. If BB has the cerberus df or some other 3-heart/soul df it would explain why. It took him longer to awaken it because it is 3x as hard to bend 3 souls to your will and awaken it.
6. If that shit above is all true (and thank you for taking your time) that means he now could take up to three new powers without awakening any of them.
7. We are deep in theory land, but IF thats all still true, than he could even now pick up another df and have four in total at end fight with having awakend atleast 1.

Roger told shanks he's not the next pirate king. He wants to defy destiny by beating luffy who is destined to be pirate king according to the ponyglyph. Thats why Rodger said they were too early. Shanks definitely didnt tell the gorosei about luffys fruit. By that stage of the manga luffy has declared war on the world government at enies lobby, he has a high enough bounty, they know his powers. Im sure they know of the war at marineford and everything else. Luffy used its moves as if it were the gum gum fruit and they also knew that that fruit was really the nika fruit that evaded them for years and even knew it was stolen from the ship. Also if uta and film red are considered canon shanks has already met a gear 5 luffy before these events.

Tbh shanks and mostly luffy don’t know what it means to be a pirate. They literally don’t act like every other pirate in the series, every other pirate is pretty much evil and will kill and take whatever or whoever they want (this goes for whitebeard too, tho not as bad as the others he was ready to sink marine ford entirely which has innocent families on it). Everyone in the OP world just seems to know it’s what pirates do and normal people are scared of them and even when they meet Luffy or Shanks they usually say something like “are you really a pirate?” Or “you don’t act like most pirates “.

What about the Marines, the Gorosei, and Imu? Are they all just gonna take a nap while the "greatest pirate battle ever" takes place? How does the crowning of the new pirate king impact Imu and the World Government? How will it impact the entire quest of the Revolutionary Army? Obviously Blackbeard's goals don't align with Luffy's, but Imu still seems like a bigger threat to me.
