    Thank you, I learned something new with your video. My 15.5yr old Shetland pony mare has been diagnosed with PPID and IR. Both. Right now she is on Prascend. Her feet are changing shape. It seems at the moment I am controlling the laminitis. She has had only one episode. At what point will her quality of life decline? What do I look for? Is this the results of our domestication of the horse? This isn’t prevalent in wild horses, is it?

    Thanks for the information. Does involving your horse in activities that create dopamine naturally help balance the system?

      This is a fantastic question! thank you. Dopamine definitely helps, and as horses age they naturally produce less. I have not investigated whether horses doing activities (or what kind), increase dopamine in the same way as humans - but you have given me something to research :)
