Neal with Derek?? My god that's a great pairing. Never would have guessed they would link but I'm so glad they did!
Didn't know that was Trucks playing, but the sound is unmistakable. Why didn't they use him in the video? Really only searched for the video to see the guitar riffs being played. Disappointing, but it makes sense that they wouldn't try to pretend that someone else can play like Derek. I've watched some of the live recordings of this song now and to me, this version is the best because of Derek's playing.
@@actionsportster7686 My thoughts are that with TTB's hectic touring schedule this summer and fall they just weren't able to get him in the video. He may well of done his guitar part from his home studio and sent it into them. It would have been great to have him in there, but that slide work does everything it needs to, it's always on point!
Just heard this tune on NPRs World Cafe and thought that guitar is smokin and sounds like Derek. Looked it up after I heard the artist and song name and theres Cant Stop the Rain by Neal Francis featuring Derek Trucks. Nice! Derek is unbelievable. Gonna check out some more Neal now.

Just heard Neal last night, opening for Les Claypool's Frog Brigade at the Masonic Temple in Detroit. Absolutely blew my mind, so much so I bought 2 of his 3 LPs at the merch booth. Got to meet him and chat with him for a few (he was standing at the merch booth after his set to meet/greet people who bought his stuff), really great guy. They KILL it live. Will be catching them again the next time they come through Detroit area.

I have been waiting to hear the song for over a week because I could see it in my Spotify but I was at a cabin with no data or internet access. Was worth the wait. I’ll admit I had been thinking the whole time that the song was a cover of I can’t Stand the Rain. I think your song is even better, although Lowell George’s version of Can’t stand the rain is also great.
Appreciate it being shot on 16mm but tripods existed in the 70s. hahaha I’m gonna get motion sick watching your video but I respect the teams creative work putting this great video together.
