I SKINNED MY BMW E92 335i INTERIOR WITH CARBON FIBRE (SAVING ME £X,XXXs)

THE INTERIOR TRIMS WERE LOOKING A LITTLE DATED AND CHEAP SO WE DECIDED TO SKIN THE TRIMS IN CARBON FIBER CLOTH. THIS TOOK A LOT LONGER THAN EXPECTED BUT THE RESULTS WERE DEFINITELY WORTH ALL THE TIME AND EFFORT.

You need to "temper" the parts. Means bake them to give the resin the final stiffness. In the summer it will either develop a structure or event lift off the part. You can also begin by applying some heat activated textile glue (containing acetone) and then apply the carbon fiber by heating the glue and sticking the fiber with pressure. No need to put masking tapes on the back and it will not lift when heat gets in the cars cabin. I failed on so many parts but it is highly addictive :D great job you did!

The carbon-fibre looks great, but what a lot of work to modernise the interior. I sure hope this pays off with a better price when you sell the car.
With all the time and effort you lads have put into his build to make the BMW top class, I hope you make a hefty profit on it.

Do the trim on the steering wheel carbon, it just unclips. I mean the whole y shaped bit which has the little m badge on it.

The carbon fiber you have done looks great. Personally I would stop there but not doubt you'll add some more bits on and I,ll realize yep looks even better now. Been a fun build to watch keep it up.

The interior i looking sweet as hell! The only thing i would not do is use alcantara on the steering wheel. It looks mint to start but will look scruffy and cheap once a few grubby paws have been gripping it.
