I totally agree! This car shares the same engine as the Elantra. I just myself a 2024 Elantra Limited for 27k and I can say the amount of features it offers for that price is insane.
I'm super excited about the new GT-LINE model. It's got everything I want and it's under $30k. I love the fastback coupe design. It looks so sleek and expensive. The Corolla I rented was so boring. I returned it the next day and got a Nissan Rogue instead.

Hope it doesn't have expanding gas tank issues like the K5 does. If i was in the market for a subcompact i would definitely put this (but the GT turbo trim) on the list.
how do you think Kia will age with time. I have been thinking about a cheap car to lease or buy, Kia vs Honda vs Toyota is a constant thought in my head. Not really able to decide
The big three need to follow what these Korean and Japanese manufacturers are doing with affordable small cars. Next to the discontinued Malibu they offer nothing in this class, the cheapest thing at a Ford dealership is close to 40K, people want good affordable transportation in this day and age.
Hyundai/Kia are definitely knocking it out of the park with looks, but the overall reliability of their vehicles have left a sour taste in my mouth. I was skeptical due to all the horror stories I heard about reliability and issues people had with them regularly. I was always a Honda and Toyota person, as I’ve never had problems out of them. Well, I ended up going for a 2022 K5 GT brand new with 20 miles on it after seeing and test driving one. I take great care of my cars, and was strict about staying on top of the scheduled maintenance. The transmission failed just 2 years later at about 26,000 miles. While it was covered under warranty, the inconvenience alone was enough to turn me completely off to them going forward.
Saving up for a new car next year, likely was going to go with a Civic or Corolla - but leaning more towards the Corolla since Honda dealerships charge like $2-3k above MSRP where I live, but now I'm fully settled on likely getting a K4, that being said- this is like 6 months from now, so hopefully that gives enough time for more thorough long-term reviews to start coming in.

Ugly design language especially in the C-pillar and trunk area. Interior is rental car penalty box poor. Engine and transmission are underwhelming. No it's an awesome interior corolla will take 20yrs to have such a nice premium interior with this tech. Corolla doesn't even have a big screenand no heated seats as standard where as this has.
@@AlexAlex-gs1xhsure, the interior is very flashy and impressive, but you have to take everything into account. Kia is known for loading their vehicles with the latest tech and features, while Toyota is known for sticking with what’s well known and reliable. In 10 years, the Toyota will still be running on the same engine and transmission, whereas the Kia likely won’t be. Their engines explode. Maybe these vehicles appeal to a younger and less mature audience? These Corollas do and always will sell so well because of the reliability. Not everyone cares about a giant screen.
