Plenchie I know it's been a year since I asked that question but is there a possibility that the tires in either of those vans could be different from what you are saying? The owner could have switched them out, right? I mean it's hard from watching this video to tell what kind of tires were implemented, right?
Nothing whatsoever to do with the tyres, the power is delivered gently and sensibly to the MP drive train. Superb. I’ve just done 60k Miles with this tiptronic box and it is sensational. The air suspension also keeps a perfect distribution of pressure over each wheel.
I drive 2 wheel drive 2018/17 crafter and sprinters and its a mix of tyres and driving. The vw will give you more throttle so control is needed but the sprinter has more sensitive traction control. Although the crafter has limitations on throttle when in deep mud, it tends to alternate between each wheel and very slowly make its way out. Winter tyres make a huge difference tho
Bruno Dandrea Mercedes has a wandlerautomatic transmission . Volkswagen has a DSG which is With a automatic clutch which is not so soft as the wandler. But I agree with you that about 50% on the tires and the driver

(I'm owner VWT6) 1.Mercedes 4x4 has primarily rear drive despite VW 4x4 has primarily front drive(rear drive set on few miliseconds later).Rear drive is more powerful to move to hill then front drive. 2.Mercedes has a longer wheelbase then VW (short version). His centre of gravity is in lower point and this property favoring to drive off to hill.
to be honest I think the tires are not the big difference but the fact that MB always gives priority to post traction and then to forward one. VW does the opposite.
Don’t know about tyres, but 4 Matic has active brake while doing slippery conditions. When it comes to sliding, it useses brakes. W6 does not, it could be one of the reasnos.
Both vw t6 and Mercedes Vito are decent vehicles. Being modern vehicles, they are also really heavy, so even if you put AT tires on them they struggle. My lightweight syncro T3s would probably outperform them uphill even with less hp and torque

MB setzt auf DSR, die Downhillspeedregulation. Dabei wird jedes Rad selektiv gebremst und an der Schlupfgrenze bewegt. VW hat so ein System nicht, d.h. beim Betätigen der Fussbremse werden alle 4 Räder gleichzeitig gebremst.

Da der T6 viel neuer ist, können die Reifen nicht älter als meine sein. Auch beim einparken, der T6 ist nicht in die Parklücke gekommen obwohl dieser kürzer war. Dank meiner 360° Kamera, war es machbar. Die Elektronik der V-Klasse ist bemerkenswert, gerade eine Woche zuvor hab ich dreimal auf Holz geklopft als der Seitenwind Assist eingegriffen hat.
So ein Gelaber. Man sieht in dem Video nicht nur die unterschiedliche Bereifung, auch das unterschiedliche Fahrverhalten.Seitenwindassistent ist im ESP enthalten, bei vernünftigen Marken halt. Andere müssen groß Werbung damit machen. Das gleiche mit der 360°Kamera. Die V-Klasse brauchts halt, weil man aus der Büchse nicht rausschauen kann. Wer einigermaßen Auto fahren kann, kann auch mit Park Pilot und vernünftiger Rundumsicht einparken.

Ich habe jetzt nur den vergleich zum T5 aber da musste mich ins Lenkrad verbeißen und bei der V-Klasse nicht . Die V-Klasse führt sich fast wie ein PKW, zumindest kommt kein Baustellen Feeling auf oder das typische "Bus Gefühl". Ja man kann auch ohne 360° Kamera einparken aber es macht einen das leben leichter. Bei den Teuren Smartphones oder Fernseher fragt auch keiner mehr ob man das wirklich braucht, es macht einen das Leben angenehmer. Die Verkaufszahlen sprechen nicht gerade für den T6, seit dem die V-Klasse und der Vito auf den Markt ist.

I see these posters think it's the different tires but maybe it could be the PEAK of the torque curve which needs to be observed more. I have notice with MB engines, that peak occurs earlier and in the lower RPM range, whereas with VW and others, it is the opposite. It's like the MB wheels like to GRAB the ground to get the momentum going, whereas with VW, they just have a weak touch on the ground, like it's spreading butter on bread. Hence, this is why we see the VW slipping.
Looks like that the VW driver gave more gas (if it's 2 different drivers) maybe the DSG is a bit rough or the tires are the problem, but the differences are too large to say that the VW system sucks. And no i'm not a VW Fanboy I drive a MB Vito 114cdi with the 7G-tronic unfortunately without the 4matic system.

Unterschied ist der Fahrer. Beim heutigen nicht richtigen Allradantrieb muss man mehr gas geben und drauf bleiben, da mit alle 4 Räder Kraft verteilt bekommen.

Да ну. Я бы принял что в тесте у фольца резина летняя, а у мерса зимняя. Возможно у фольца отключены стабилизации, если они есть в данной комплектации. Но даже с этого видео видно что у мерса не водитель ведет, а электроника. Электроника не дает пробуксовывать, конечно, на мерсе можно выключить ESP и он поедит так же как фольц в этом видео. Тест неадекватный потому что не показано резину и наличие и работоспособность вспомогательных систем.

Если ESP отключить мерен шлифовать не будет ток в занос пойдет чтобы мерен шлифовал надо анти букс отключать ASR и то не сильно шлифанет потом аср включится надо через панель приборов отключать road test включить он все отключает и тогда только мерен и шлифавать и дрифт пойдет а на фольче походу анти букс отключили или он поздно включался

Probably find the Mercedes was running winter tyres but also loads of throttle wasn’t helping the way the Vw was driven

on vw t6 the driver push the gas full pedal, on mercedes just a little...this is the difference. and please do the test with same tires....
If you drive both of than, you will see, the DSG in the VW have a very hard moment, when the clutch came in

АТ шины для грязи камней, но не для льда!!! Для такого покрытия нужны шины скандинавского типа.
На мерине резина шире и дороже, на т6 уже и дешевле)))

Vw has the traction control off but on Mercedes even if it is pressed off it come back on by itself

Мерс не ставит на V класс заднюю блокировку. Там чисто имитация, которая у Мерса работает великолепно.

@@UTVH21 I drive a fleet of go anywhere T5 and T6 vans. The only thing that ever stops me is lack of ground clearance. Mercedes dealers are ignorant bas***$ could not even get a sales leaflet from the mec dealer. Mind you I am not say VW dealers are the best when it comes to customer service!!!

Начнём с самого простого. Это шины. Мы не знаем какое стоят на авто. И складывается впечатление что на Фольксвагене явно не зима
Да ну. Я бы принял что в тесте у фольца резина летняя, а у мерса зимняя. Возможно у фольца отключены стабилизации, если они есть в данной комплектации. Но даже с этого видео видно что у мерса не водитель ведет, а электроника. Электроника не дает пробуксовывать, конечно, на мерсе можно выключить ESP и он поедит так же как фольц в этом видео. Тест неадекватный потому что не показано резину и наличие и работоспособность вспомогательных систем.

+Sterndeuter 5400 also ich kenne beide autos, wohne im tiefen allgäu , kenne glatte straßen, mir kommt es scho so vor das der fahrer beim vw viel zu viel gas gibt beim benz sauber gefühlvoll anfährt ... obwohl ich MB fan bin da ich den neuen demnächst fahre

Если ESP отключить мерен шлифовать не будет ток в занос пойдет чтобы мерен шлифовал надо анти букс отключать ASR и то не сильно шлифанет потом аср включится надо через панель приборов отключать road test включить он все отключает и тогда только мерен и шлифавать и дрифт пойдет а на фольче походу анти букс отключили или он поздно включался
