Terrific stuff. Class design. It's lovely to hear someone so impressed with their own work, when it all turns out better than expected. Splendid content. Much respect sir. :)
Yes! Eraser shields. I still have a couple. Every once in a while I will stumble across one in a drawer and think "I mustn't lose that" even though I probably haven't used one for 4 decades or more. Hell my hands are too shaky to write my name much less do any mechanical drawings. Why do I still need an eraser shield? Thanks for the updates. Yes, when making a shipping box you have to account for everything that could possibly happen. I think the shipping company guys use some of the packages as a soccer ball.
It's great to speak to someone else who appreciates the joy of an eraser shield! I wish I could find mine, as I'd frame it! Sorry to hear your hands are shaky. I'm sure the shipping companies (inadvertantly hopefully) employ people who look out for 'Fragile' labels and then do their best to destroy the packages! FedEx is awful. One damaged double thickness corrugated cardboard box I'd sent even had a boot print on it!
Shipping is always a lottery. I worked for a company supplying a training solution to a large UK government organisation, this was all computer based. These old computers weighed the metaphorical tonne, and were prone to cards bouncing out of their sockets if the unit was dropped. So we went for a custom made box, full of expensive foam, etc etc, they then weighed the proverbial megatonne. I'm on a customer site, waiting for a fresh unit to arrive. courier pulls up outside the building, then pulls box out of the back of his van, and it drops one end some 3feet onto the ground, he didn't know who i was, i asked him why he'd pulled it out like he had, too effin evvy mate was the reply. I said, you have no idea that at the time was valued at £50K do you? He didn't give a flying F. I hope your boxes arrived safely, Cheers. Simon
Thanks Simon, they finally did. I can only atrat to imaging the frustration you felt with £50K of cutting edge computing being dropped on the pavement! I've stopped using 'Fragile' tape, as it just seems to encourage them...
@@steamhead fragile is like a challenge. I'm grateful the mega expensive computer wasn't my responsibility, however, as a taxpayer, we should all be concerned.

It's only me and the dog here during the day, and she only shows appreciation when it's time for her walk, so your kind words are greatly appreciated!
Lovely detailed work and a lovely rhythm to the crank mechanism
Thanks very much Stephen.
Simply fascinating creativity!!
Thank you kindly! Nice comments make it all worthwhile.
Here is some wonderful amazing work !
Thanks Marwan for your continued support!

28:20 Top Tip: You could use a piece of copper clad pcb and cut out the copper between the plus and minus,
That's a good idea, thank you. Note to self, order some more copper clad board!
Eraser shield
Ah, that's it, thank you kindly. You obviously have experience of drawing pencil engineering drawings on tracing paper! A lost art.
