Checking the specification, the older Samsung Galaxy S22 has 50 megapixel main sensor, with a big 1/1.56 inch sensor which explains why S22 is brighter than S23 fan edition. It also has dual face detection autofocus and OIS. It has triple camera setup with a 10 megapixel telephoto zoom, it is a three times optical zoom with phase detection autofocus and OIS and a 12 megapixel ultra wide with Super Steady video. Wrapping up the hardware is a 10 megapixel selfie with dual face detection autofocus, The rear camera can shoot 8k24 FPS while the selfie can shoot up to 4K 60 FPS
While then newer Samsung Galaxy S23 fan edition has the same triple camera set up with a 50 megapixel main sensor, only has the regular phase detection autofocus and OIS. A smaller 8 megapixel resolution of telephoto also with three times optical zoom, again with face detection autofocus and OIS and a regular 12 megapixel ultra wide. I think it is the same selfie of camera of 10 megapixel and like S22 the rear camera can shoot 8k 24 FPS video while the selfie camera can shoot 4k 60fps!

Hey @GadgetRevNow what about the heating issues of S22 is it prominent while shooting out doors?
So basically, basically you're making a choice between the tiniest bit of better quality/detail on the s22, or the tiniest bit better/deeper color on the s23 fe. My opinion: Definitely rolling with s23 fe because the quality & detail is already outstanding and amazing every single pic or video you take, so that tiny bit of extra better colors on the s23 fe has me prefering its pictures at first glance over the s22 in this video.

Contrast and dynamic are different things. S23FE dynamic is looking better to me and closer to natural.

One difference that I noticed is you can't record ultra-wide hyperlapse with the S23 FE while you can with the S22

S22's photos are pleasant and vivid
I have a Galaxy A54 and after seen this comparison... I wouldn't upgrade to S23 FE.
Both S22 and S23 FE are better phones than my current phone, but here in Venezuela S22 is found under USD 450 while S23 FE is around USD 550. It doesn't make sense to pay $ 100 more for less (or the same).
The problem of buying older phones is that probably you should get it used, which I will not do with a flagship because battery tends to suffer a lot by the previous owners...
Also, the design of the S23 FE is something I would avoid being that my A54 is pretty uncomfortable. The gap between these three phones is not soooo big btw, so let's save for a S23 or S23+ 👌 and get a fully featured, new, comfortable phone.

@@sigma_software When you hold it unprotected, the borders in the back side of the phone feel over the back, like a besel/bevel, and that makes the phone slide/wriggle somehow. - When I first bought it, I immediately noticed that the design is just not premium. It's a really strange and uncomfortable sensation.
Also, it feels all like a fragile plastic (but it is Gorilla Glass 5). - I would die if it falls unprotected because I am extremely sure that it will break.
I also saw a video about someone who let it fall, and the borders (made of plastic) got the texture of the floor.
@sigma_software However, I am speaking all about the A54. The S23 FE has an aluminum border, so it should feel different. - Bro, I love my phone. You will just love your S23 FE. Just put a protector as usual if you feel uncomfortable.
using manual seeting you can archive the same look, lower the iso to the s22 and tha´s it
S23fe is a tad bid sharper with more details and more controlled exposer especially in low light indoor shots

S23Fe all round is better, Photos are outstanding and very current with style and colors. Even the design of the phone is great. But those HUGE bezels around the screen - just can't wrap my head around accepting that.. or I would settle for it over the S22/S21FE

I bought S23FE last Dec 30, 2023 but its the Exynos version. I thought its Snapdragon 😢😢😢
I noticed that battery is not that good. From 100% to 15% battery it only run for more than 6 hours. I am not playing games yet. Looks not okay. Is that normal?

Overall, I prefer the S22 (actually the S22+), but I would have liked to have had the contrast and exposure of the S23 FE.
Samsung should genuinely think about adding an option like the ''Photographic Style'' (in my opinion very under-rated) of iPhones on the Galaxy, then Samsung will surely have the best camera phone on the market.
