Coin Electrolysis: From Junk To Treasure

- The other day, I found 2 coins stuck together metal detecting. One was clearly a silver quarter and the other was a steel or iron disk. The second coin looked corroded, but this video will prove that you never can tell with Iron. Something could look completely toasted but a layer was preserved underneath. Watch to see what I mean!

Hi, my name is Merrill Kazanjian. New York City is an amazing place to go metal detecting. We have lots of parks, colonial history and great beaches for beach detecting. I have gone to all five boroughs of New York City To Metal Detect and beyond. I also currently own 16 metal detectors. I want to have the best and I want to help you choose the best as well. I am a treasure hunter. So in addition to metal detecting, I go mudlarking at sites such as Dead Horse Bay. Think of mudlarking as metal detecting without a metal detector.

My most important series is called Becoming A Millionaire Metal Detecting. I am trying to monetize my favorite hobby in order to do it more in the future. In other words, we put the clad we find in the ground, affiliate earnings, and merchandise earnings in to the stock market and we invest it. This show started in January 2019.

Great video i do the same process for all my iron HH
Hey James! Thank you as always for stopping by. I use Lemon juice plus salt as the solution for the water. Is your solution similar?
All you used was lemon juice and salt mixed with the water? Does it matter how much? I need to try this on a few finds I have laying around.
Steel penny!! Awesome
Do not use stainless for electrolysis it is not good for the environment and more importantly it can release gases that's not good for you. Having said that I really enjoy your channel, you are mainly the reason I bought and equinox800.
I have seen some other detectorist do this on youtube in the past. But I believe they used a car battery for the juice. You have to wonder how someone stumbled across this process.
LOL agreed!
Good results
Nice!
Thanks Tim, as you know, you are partially responsible for this video. Thank you!
I am very happy this project is in your hanss..you deserve the success that iwill come to you!
When I saw 1932 on that quarter I was hoping for you that it was a D mint. Rats!
I was thinking the same exact thing!
What do you use for your sacrificial metal?
I knew it, steel penny. Great job!
awesome video just subscribe to your channel cool
Thank you!
Has anyone else tried this process?
I havent. I dont have an electrolysis kit, but i do have a watch peice from seventeen jewels found in coney island that really needs this treatment
Please tell me that wasn't a stainless steel spoon! You can end up with some real toxic by-products. Hopefully you know that, as it is two years later and I did see you use an ugly box. In any case use a graphite rod. They're cheap, last a long time, and you can order easily from Amazon. Nice job on the coins.
Yes I moved away from the stainless steel spoons
