  • From Columbia Univeristy in New York to the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, protests against Israel's war on Gaza have spread across major United States colleges.
    Protesters’ demands vary in scope from school to school. But there is one common message - disclose and divest.
    Students want their universities to be more transparent about where their schools’ money is going.
    They demand these institutions abandon a range of investments in companies that they say are complicit in genocide.
    So, does divestment work?
    Also, Washington wants Russia to pay for rebuilding Ukraine. Moscow threatens to retaliate.
    Plus, what's the future for TikTok in the US?

      The movement and its magnification in the media is a controlled and successful effort to maintain the status quo. Were Americans to protest weapons industry, off campus, real change would happen. It was critical to keep the campus movement going as long as possible, certainly until Rafah is invaded. It’s really time for people to wake up. Especially Americans.

    It is also important that people understand what universities do in towns and cities: they clear neighborhoods, own real estate, and draw their high status faculty and staff into their projects of gentrification and land theft.
    They destroy culture, rather than upholding it.
    They replace legitimate local culture and community with a corporatized, commodified, curated facsimile excluding all inconvenient voices.
    They ruin places for anyone not part of their business.
    I have lived five american cities, and in each at some time the largest university cleared a black neighborhood, in collaboration with police, city government and developers. Five for five.
    It is a pattern of deceit, bullying, land theft, and cultural and economic vandalism. And it is long past time their hedge funds were redistributed to more legitimate forms of community education.
    Universities are nasty reactionary institutions with a number aspirational liberals and progressives navigating them and seeking a life through them.
    It is delusional to call them liberal or productive institutions as a whole. Anyone not directly benefitting, anyone experiencing their toxic BS in action in their town, knows the truth.

    In the past, many countries have never recognized the West, especially the United States, as a democratic country, but criticized the United States as an imperialist hegemony abroad, a dictatorship of the bourgeoisie at home, or more accurately, a dictatorship of Jewish oligarchy, where Jews are more like a class than a nation. Therefore, it seems that the United States has elected a candidate from one of the two parties as the president of the United States by universal suffocation. But behind these two parties and their media is the same group of Jewish oligarchs, so the president of the United States is for a very small number of bourgeois service, only you can not scold the people who really rule you, Americans of course can scold Trump Biden, puppets why can not scold? It is to give you this illusory feeling of being able to choose, which leads to the embarrassing situation of the current American regime, and the selection of names is extremely embarrassing, which is why there are swing states. No matter who you choose, you can't change the status quo, and choosing any one of them only changes a plate on the table, and the dish is still the dish. But will BlackRock's big boss, the Jewish financier behind both parties, step down? What about the private company behind the Fed? You don't even know who he is, he controls American politics without any democratic process from the American electorate, and he's a Jewish family patriarchy, so it's not a dictatorship of the bourgeoisie, so what is? It's like when you go to a talent show, you think you have chosen, and the boss behind the scenes has already asked you to choose from a few of the appointed ones, and if the one you choose doesn't listen, it will be done. The assassination of Kennedy may be blamed on conspiracy theories, but Nixon was accidentally released after the tape warning Jewish plutocratic, the media brought him down after the Watergate case, If the President of the United States can be assassinated that easily, have you ever seen a big Wall Street boss get shot? In the past, the United States could occupy 50% of the world's industry, the G7 accounted for 70% of the world's GDP, and could sanction all disobedient regimes, so it seemed too powerful and the poor in the United States could eat meat residue through the trickle-down effect, which was better than those in the third World who could not even eat soup, but as the United States transferred middle and low-end industries to its first island chain Allies, As capitalists transferred industries to any country in the name of neoliberalism such as Reagan Thatcher, even white Americans in Detroit could only become homeless on the rust belt, and the American politics controlled by rich Americans were unwilling to redistribute wealth, thus the Jewish oligarchic dictatorship and the dictatorship of the rich were reflected.

    Instead of asking pro-Palestinians to condemn Hamas, do an experiment and ask them the following question: "If Israel could eliminate Hamas without harming women and children, would you support that?" You will be shocked by the answer.

      what a stupid game of logic twister. People don't like having to have a resistance force. It is dangerous and painful. Zionism is violence and land theft, and Israel is committing massive crimes of violence every day. People are going to respond. Your notions of moral logic are just completely out of touch with the reality on earth. Israel is done now, babe, over, the mask has been ripped off. If you want safety for Jewish people in the middle east, end the occupation, negotiate for terms. Whatever Bibi and Joe pull off before they die... it is done, your own people despise you now, not just your victims.

      Classic Strawman fallacy. The issue is not about condemning Hamas. The issue is the inproportionate reaction by Israel toward the population of Gaza. It is clear that Hamas was merely an excuse to go all out on Gaza, something they wanted to do for a while.

    • @JackFieldBand
      @JackFieldBand 14 днів тому +1

      @@franglez695I assure you that Israel has ZERO interest in Gaza. Hamas were literally begging Israel to come in via the October 7th atrocities. And there was no blockade either. how do I know? Because Hamas NEVER demanded seaport or airport from Eygpt.

    BIDU has financing & equity on NADAQ, shows how sordid aspects of USA had recklessly indulged & exploited these intrusions along with the malfeasance that compromise & risk citizens.
    When intrude, impose & appear to invade, defile, & harm innocent citizens, then provoke & expect response. Plan, assemble, discuss & create assertive persuasive manifest, declaration, & resolutions with the precious time & effort, definitely avoid recklessness & risk beside respect for due process & innocent uninvolved people.
    How can supposed representatives of USA somehow involved with those external issues much less indulge intrusion & invasion, while impose, endanger, violate, & harm innocent citizens of USA? None of that is my involvement or approval & should remain remote, while ensure humanitarian & peaceful resolution, yet conniving intrusive parasitic NGOs, kleptocrats, complicit shills, & systemic corruption have risked, intrude, harm, & violate, & further endanger me. There were 36 hospital facilities for serving Gaza ...? Wouldn't be alone in describing that tactic as beyond offensive & reprehensible, but what is harm, hazard, & human rights violations with atrocity even in USA social institutions & medical system?
    Another foreign government, commit apartheid & wage conflict with another belligerent, yet somehow USA want indulge & exploit but has seemingly externalized not only abuse, harm, & human right violations with atrocity that get coverup, obfuscate, obstruct, & retaliate happening in USA.

      Nobody looks at that when they apply. At that age most people don’t even know colleges got investment funds. Some don’t even know they got real estate. I didn’t know the house on the north side of campus with the most beautiful garden I have ever seen belongs to the dean and his wife. PAID FOR by rising tuition. I got maddd when I found that out. With such a high salary why can’t he pay a mortgage like everybody else. So most students don’t know nor look for stuff like that when they apply. It’s like thinking everyone reads terms and agreements when they turn on their video games or their cell phones.

    • @Kalimdor199Menegroth
      @Kalimdor199Menegroth 14 днів тому

      @@tanman49 The fool is not the one who is rising your tuition, the fool is the one who is willing to pay the tuition. All this talk about boycotting or not is so pointless. All these students need to do is to stop attending that university, refuse to pay tuition and actually boycott it. But in reality all they do is lip service to a cause they care less about, and they keep protesting just to win some street cred and to score those virtue signaling points. Because on the left, supporting Palestine is trending. Your reasoning is hilarious though. The dean his wife have the right to use their own money however they want, just as you can refuse to attend their university and refuse to pay the tuition mate.
      Also, much of the money these universities get is from donors or revenue from their own investments and private properties owned. Not from the students. So of course, these universities will prioritize the donors and their own investments rather than the whims of their students, who come and go.
