I had the identical orion everything spot on just turned 22 my mate at work was selling it. The birds i pulled and concord in my beautiful orion. The first time i did a 100 mph. With the biggest smile on my face but never again. My brother grassed me up to my mum. So put it in my grandparents garage at their Manor house in Woodhouse eves leicester. My grandad sold it to his mate who had a ford car collection in Spain. Far as I know his son still as it in his collection in texas America.
I had a 1.6i Ghia and my dad had one before me , and my pop as well …. Loved the Orion much more than the escort … Wish they had just made a 2.0 litre one …
Wonder how much it sold for? Everyday classics like this appeal to me far more than exotica as this is what I grew up with. I wish more people preserved everyday cars rather than scrapping them. I’d have been interested in this if I knew about it. I have a 1995 Merc C280 and a 2005 Fabia VRS: both well in six figures and still going strong: will get both tidied up at some point. 1980s Fords are what i went to school in, an Orion was what my mate’s mum took me to scouts in: really tugs the heart strings and emotional just seeing one.
My older brother had two Ford Orion’s. Both were Ghia’s. His first Orion was a MK1 in Ocean blue, with the same plastic wheel trims as this one in the video. And his second Orion was a MK2 in Champagne gold, but with different styled plastic wheel trims. But I’m sure the Injection model here, with that distinctive red line on the plastic trimming on the sides, and the bumpers should have alloys, and not the same plastic wheel trims my brother had on his first Orion.
This should have been the Cortina's true successor. I see more of that in the design of the Orion than I do the Sierra. Lovely car and in good condition too
i dont know there is a factory set up , but yesterday i checked one mint condition one owner very low km i think 35.000km with sunroof and alloy wheels ATF golden collor. Looks genuine . i dont know lot about Ford

Wow how has this avoided the rust worm!?
mine did too avoided the corrosion issue,, used too weld these rot boxes up but ended up with a non rust one
most likely kept in good shape, mine was quite rusted when I first started it’s restoration journey.
That's crying out for some pepper pots on it 👍
Give it modern dashboard and modern.engine braking system.just be as good as modern stuff still looks modern Orion ghia
YOU DONT SEE ORION NOW DAYS EWEN ON FINNISH ROADS
