@@MegaManDBZX BATMAN: NOEL! Published in 2011 as a full graphic novel. A modern day Batman and Christmas classic. HIGHLY recommended! I hope it will get an animated (or live action) movie one day!
This song has such a sweet pure and beautiful meaning. Not just for Christmas but all year. All year we should live our lives with grateful prayers and thankful hearts ❤
I consider "A Christmas Carol" to be the greatest Christmas story ever, and this movie was an awesome version of the story, with the most magnificent songs. Sir Micheal Caine is my all-time favorite Scrooge, and an excellent actor.
With a thankful heart With an endless joy With a growing family Every girl and boy Will be nephew and niece to me (Will be nephew and niece to me) Will bring love, hope, and peace to me (Will bring love, hope, and peace to me) Yes, and every night will end And every day will start With a grateful prayer And a thankful heart With an open smile And with open doors I will bid you welcome What is mine is yours With a glass raised to toast your health (With a glass raised to toast your health) And a promise to share the wealth (And a promise to share the wealth) I will sail a friendly course And file a friendly chart On a sea of love And a thankful heart Life is like a journey Who knows when it ends Yes, and if you need to know The measure of a man You simply count his friends Stop and look around you The measure that you see Is born again each day Don't let it slip away How precious life can be With a thankful heart That is wide awake I do make this promise Every breath I take Will be used now to sing your praise (Will be used now to sing your praise) And to beg you to share my days (And to beg you to share my days) With a loving guarantee That even if we part I will hold you close In a thankful heart I will hold you close In a thankful heart (In a thankful heart)
@DrZaius75 Some versions are too scary, with the ghosts terrifying both audience member and Scrooge into keeping Christmas better. And some are too goofy, satirizing the story. But this version had just enough scary to show audiences that it IS a ghost story (but only when the ghost was supposed to be scary, like the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come and the Marleys), but more than enough heart and comedy to remind the audience that it is also a Christmas story!
Not Scary? Man I must remember the Muppet version of the Ghost of Christmas Future wrong then because that puppet was Frakin' TERRIFYING to my tiny child brain. Actually it's very true to the original Dickensian Novel, Very little of the book is altered by the addition of Muppet Goofiness. They add but not to the detriment of the original work, which all good parody _Should_ do.
He was always my favorite Scrooge and probably always will be... seconded only by Jim Carrey, whose performance was closest to the source material that I've ever seen. And I also just realized a few weeks ago that Michael Caine is also Austin Powers' father in Goldmember. Hard to believe I didn't notice that before, just thought it was cool!
I see this song as one that can be sung or listened to no matter what time of year it is. It's about love and thankfulness. That's something that we can be reminded of and do everyday of the year! It's never too late to start!
Omg, among Christmas movies, this one is probably my second favorite, and among the Muppet movies, tis my favorite. They way Scrooge changes his ways always touches me deep in my "Thankful Heart". :)
This is one of my very favorite songs. If anyone out there thinks the new Muppet Movie is as good as these older ones... well... they need to watch these old movies again.
Love this song really do it showed that Scrooge is really a changed man promising to love Christmas and keep it it showed that he really has learned his lesson of being selfish and unkind he learns that money is not important no matter how rich and wealthy people get it's feeling sorry for the poor and Christmas is about Love
I sing this every Christmas and my family can't stand it. Jesus is the reason! Bless Christmas time and it's loving power! Michael Cain is a boss for singing this!
You know it's cool, this movie uses the talent of Paul Williams who has been associated with the Muppets in 2 big roles- as a performer during the the Muppet Show as well as he wrote the now infamous "Rainbow Connection". Unrelated, he had a cameo on Dexter's Laboratory too. Anyway, you can say this film is a perfect followup to the Muppet Trilogy.
The only person who could ever do the Scrooge role any real justice other than mr. Michael Caine would be the late great Alastair Sim. Him and Michael Caine did a damn fine job playing the character of Ebenezer Scrooge. And as far as Jim Carrey I think he did pretty good too.
I love the Muppets btw my Teacher is Yanuzzi who makes the backgrounds for the muppets idk if he still is working for them but he is working in my school as a art teacher
@ztslovebird Might wanna read the original text, then, man. He's got a couple of malnourished children hiding under his robes, named Want and Ignorance. DOOM is written on the forehead of Ignorance. Christmas present is kind of scarier than christmas yet to come, in my opinion.
@KBAFourthtime he sure can. have you seen the patrick stewart christmas carol? in that one, patrick was in chruch and was singing "god rest ye merry gentelmen" he was amazing!
If time travel ever exists during my time, I'd go back in time to watch this movie for the first time again.
But going back wouldn't make you forget you have seen it. You could go back and watch you, watching it for the 1st time.
I would like to take a copy of the film back in time and show Charles Dickens and see if he likes it.
@@shongage I’m sure he would love it. It was very faithful to his book.
i am the ghost of christmas yet to come because i look like him kenobi
35 years old and I just saw it for the first time today at the cinema with my daughter. It was pretty great ngl.
One of the most under appreciated movie soundtracks.
I'm posting it as part of my Facebook Christmas collection
very true
It can’t be on that status
michael caine makes this song so beautiful, he gave ebenezer scrooge a new life, because of his amazing acting and singing
He was the best scrooge
One of my favorite actors even if he did star in one of my least favorite movies. Funny enough he hates that movie too LOL
This is what a drunk Alfred sings at the Christmas party at Bruce Wayne's manor.
Headcanon accepted! :)
Appropriately enough, there was a comic where Batman was Scrooge.

Don't be ridiculous!
Best Christmas song of all time.
Lewtoons Agreed. I'm actually gonna sing this on Christmas morning to my mother.
agreed
ever thought of doing a list on the subject
Vicar of dibley Hugo ducking

No u wrong this a second.
Christ's birth is the best story.
Truly this doesn't only need to be a Christmas song
NOPE. It's great for the ENTIRE year.
Agreed here here
Yup
Wish they added the opening
Here's your turkey, Mr Scrooge.
Follow me, lad!
I haven't seen this movie in years
But I'm still listening to this and getting teary eyed 🥺
I first watched this film at junior school, aged 10, and I liked it so much that I watched it again on vhs when I got home that day.
Its so good!
With a thankful heart
With an endless joy
With a growing family
Every girl and boy
Will be nephew and niece to me
(Will be nephew and niece to me)
Will bring love, hope, and peace to me
(Will bring love, hope, and peace to me)
Yes, and every night will end
And every day will start
With a grateful prayer
And a thankful heart
With an open smile
And with open doors
I will bid you welcome
What is mine is yours
With a glass raised to toast your health
(With a glass raised to toast your health)
And a promise to share the wealth
(And a promise to share the wealth)
I will sail a friendly course
And file a friendly chart
On a sea of love
And a thankful heart
Life is like a journey
Who knows when it ends
Yes, and if you need to know
The measure of a man
You simply count his friends
Stop and look around you
The measure that you see
Is born again each day
Don't let it slip away
How precious life can be
With a thankful heart
That is wide awake
I do make this promise
Every breath I take
Will be used now to sing your praise
(Will be used now to sing your praise)
And to beg you to share my days
(And to beg you to share my days)
With a loving guarantee
That even if we part
I will hold you close
In a thankful heart
I will hold you close

Even though I'm from Unova, Happy Galarian Christmas.
The power of Sword & Shield was strengthened by the Galarian Christmas spirit.
Nah, I didn't care for Galar. The Pokemon were good, but the story stunk.

Omg, among Christmas movies, this one is probably my second favorite, and among the Muppet movies, tis my favorite. They way Scrooge changes his ways always touches me deep in my "Thankful Heart". :)
I wonder if rhyming "joy" with "every girl and boy" was an intentional reference to "Octopus's Garden", or if it was just a coincidence?

Im not relgious but merry christmas the loving power of christmas time is real
What if the Grinch sang “Thankful Heart” after his heart grew three sizes?
This would have been a way better ending than the one that Jim Carrey's Grinch gave us, did he really change in that one?
@@veggiet2009 He did. He is still wild and crazy, but is not mean anymore.
I believe it.

Mr. Cratchit, you were not here as we had discussed.

Michael Caine’s finest performance.

for me, its between michael caine and patrick stewart for best scrooge
MrFloppy19 They're both great in their roles, but the Muppets overall made a far stronger movie.
I personally think George C Scott is the best Scrooge
But Michael Caine is a childhood favorite
The best Christmas song ever!!!!
My favorite song in the movie!
Michael Caine sure can sing. Who knows which other musical films feature him and feature him singing?
I watch this every Christmas!

@Benjaminy2k Wow. If that's the story Mr. Dickens told at Christmas, I'd hate to hear his Halloween stories.

this is the Atonement of Christ in action, I love it when doctrine is taught and no one knows it :)
It actually has nothing to do with religion. Look it up. All of the songs in this movie was inspired by Williams battling his drug addiction.

I've been wondering why Sweetums was never in this movie. Was it because Brian couldn't think of a suitable role for him in this movie?
