I really like this game and I like the larger tracker board. It makes it feel more legit and is much more smooth handling than smaller pieces. Especially since you’re essentially building a board out of cards (could be tiles instead), having one piece that feels like a “board game” is nice. I would have preferred more elements like that, not less. To each their own.
