Yeah, I'm a little disappointed since it cuts out some content such as: poly machina, scanlan the hat enthusiast and percy and keyleth fulfilling the deal with garmelie, but I can understand why they would do it.
C1 spoilers When Velora popped up my first thought was “Aw she’s so cute”, and then my second thought was “Oh man, people are gonna lose their shit over what happens to her in the Vecna fight”.
@@blackheartthedarklord6428 spoilers vecna captures her and uses her as a meat shield. If memory serves correctly, she dies, but is brought back to life afterwards
IIRC, in the game, Vex's dad was actually impressed that she had earned a title, though he didn't say so. He did amend her title on the document, and when he came back from doing that, he was just as shitty as before. But for a moment, Matt said that he seemed mildly proud.
The saundor fight is a fav bc it really highlights the complexity of dnd. They had a chance to see the lover who scorned him but they avoided her. It was later said she would’ve prepared them better to fight him and potentially he wouldn’t have even fought and just died of sadness lol
Devana (Syldor's wife) is some kind of saint. Not only is she far more pleasant to her husband's bastards than he ever is, she apparently raised Velora without any of Syldor's bigotry rubbing off on her. Admittedly, it's been a while (~'Sbeenawhiiiile!~) since I saw this bit in the campaign. I think I remember Devana being a little more conflicted on how to act around the twins, or at least showing a little more stress over their relationship with her husband, and Syldor had a moment or two of being SLIGHTLY less of an ass. Velora's an adorable cinnamon roll no matter what, though, and nothing bad can be allowed to happen to her. EVER.
Unfortunately, Velora does pick up some of the bigotry. It's kind of hard not to when practically the entire city of elves believes in their racial superiority. SPOILERS!!! She's very contemptuous of Kash right after he resurrects her. Kash: You don't feel evil, do you? Velora: Who is this human? Vex: Well, he sort of saved your life just now, dear. Vax: He's a friend. Come here. *hugs Kash* Vex: No, but seriously, could she be evil? Seriously? Kash: No. No. You feel ok? Velora: eerie giggle Kash: She's fi- I'd watch her. Vex: She's fine. She's fine. Velora: He's pretty stupid, isn't he? Vex: He's really really stupid.
I hope they're showing Syldor as way more of an asshole here because they're setting up a character progression. At this point, he was in the "I'm know I'm a bigot, but I swear I'm trying not to be anymore. At least I'm not as racist as everyone else" mode. Like good for you for making a passing attempt at common decency? He did say he was proud of them, but he made it clear that their presence wasn't wanted. Maybe it was because his kids with another woman showing up to mingle with his 'new family' was awkward, or maybe he didn't want his half-breed undereducated kids to mess with his social status in the city.
Well they've regressed the progress of a lot of things in the Animation. So yeah I assume it's to set up for him being his "Slightly less of a douche" self later on. Because in the campaign VM's character development and stories were much further along by this point. They were already basically a family by the start of the stream, but that's less "interesting" for narrative tension and they needed a place to grow towards for the animation. In the campaign VM had already visited him once before and he was presumably a major douche that first visit, so I imagine that this is kind of combining the dickishness of VM's first visit with dear old dad during their home game into the second visit that was in the campaign stream, and smushing them together to make one visit for the animation.
@@mayaenglish5424 I do hope we get some kind of resolution with Vex telling him off or at least telling him she doesn't need his approval anymore. And it would be more emotionally engaging if they see Velora again at least once before what happens... Then they would see Syldor again too.
I love seeing the reaction of fans who have seen campaign 2 when they learn artagan has been here the whole time
And now Ceni understands why Artagan and Jester got along so well
The way they animated Artagan's eyes is so cool! :D Yeah, he looks like an archfey alright!
I was a little disappointed that we didn't hear Percy say Life needs things to live.
Tal has so many fantastic quotes, they just couldn’t cram them all in lol
and not one NO THEATRE! oh well
And with Artagan, last episode when he was drawing in the journal, that was a give away too
He also said "In this, I am The Traveler".
The journal itself was also a giveaway, his symbol is on the cover.
The split into two parts (Grog/Pike/Scanlan vs. the rest) was a great way to pack more story into the story without it feeling rushed.

@@gun506 hey, you never know what they might throw in there at another time 🐄
They packed a lot more plot in than they could have otherwise. Sorry they didn't pack in all of it.

You might want to write "MAJOR SPOILER", cause that is about the biggest spoiler, I can think of.

It's genuinely impressive that every time they show Syldor in anything (C1, Kith and Kin, here) he gets WORSE. I'm with Ceni, he absolutely sucks.
