thank you for these videos with Espen Jon, I’m currently developing my game around crab rides and these and your future videos will help me develop and complete the whole system... 👏🤙🏻 more power to your channel
You're my idol dude. I have learned SO much from you in such a short amount of time. Please continue to make some of the BEST youtube content out there for our shared passion.
Yeah the tripod concept makes a huge difference for me in keeping my legs tight in the crab ride. Use to have so much problems with people pushing the feet off.
Yeah, you know the rolling calf lock you do to the opponent from when the OPPONENT has you in de la riva (while you are standing), where you roll through and grab them.. that would be a good one to show, because I feel it's a fancy way to find the crab ride
Also, I'm pretty sure the reverse half guard (taught to me by andre galvao #namedrop) is where I started developing the hook switching and where people try to get there butt on the ground alot..
Hello Jon and Espen, I have a couple of questions for you relating to the crab ride. 1. How do you prevent leg attacks while being in the crab ride? 2. How do you handle being in the crab ride when they slam there hips down to the mat, I find it very difficult including with the pants grip. so I end up finishing the position with leg drag. 3. Does the tripod concept help deal with those situations?
Great video, also at the end I realised that I had listened to your podcast with Tom Halpin, the inside position. So it's nice to put a face to the voice. 🤙
Thanks buddy, has been a lot of great training. Working on a lot of Underhook dlr in the gym together right now. Passing and playing it. Might put some content out on that soon too.
Hey Jon thank you for these great collaboration videos with really high class guys. If you're still out there can you do a video or two on options and overview of collar sleeve and far side collar sleeve with Tommy and Espen? Thanks again!
This is the way I found that crab ride works best for me, with the head away, and tripoding. I learned a version that is a middle ground between the “wrong” way he showed and his own version, with the head closer but still tripoding. For me his version works best because you can really pressure into the back of their legs, making them much easier to manipulate.
Yeah I feel a strong tripod makes all the difference in being able to keep the pressure on the hooks. That was making a huge difference for me Immediately.
It's very confusing and difficult to learn, and it takes a long time to get good at, but it is worth learning how to leg drag, berimbolo, and crab ride (they all cover each other's weaknesses). When you learn these systems, back amd mount attacks start popping up everywhere and you can almost always threaten a back take or mount, even in undesirable positions

Love the tripod concept. similar to the Nick Salles video. No wonder these guys are masters of these positions!

Thanks buddy doing my best to keep it coming!
Amazing, guys.
I guess i'm not doing modern jiu jitsu. 1 stripe blue and haven't ever been even close to these positions.

thats fine but yeah like the other guy said its worth just knowing a little about it, never know when you might need it or become interested in it
Thanks! Can someone link me the first video? I must be simple I can't find it 😅
Dw got it haha
Well done. OSS
👍
traditional berimbolo.. haha making me feel old! awesome stuff.
How flexible do you have to be to insert the first leg into crab from bolo at 1:21?
What is the move or reference being referred to as the "x-sweep"at 1:43?
I get it! Well done.
I'd be interested to see some crab ride set-ups and concepts from top position!
Hey Jon, do you find it more effective to tripod with your head tight to the hips or away from the hips?
Nice stuff guys, thanks a lot!
hey jon I was trying this tonight and one of the brown belts was telling me to watch my feet bc he said he could ankle lock me, what do you think?
Anyone know where to find the "first video" he is referring to?
I am become crab, destroyer of worlds
Ele fala muito pra mostrar a execução do movimento
Forehead detail is gamechanging.
Also it doesn't require as much flexibility
