Decades ago when my kids were young, I had a bout with poverty and a Ruger Single-Six revolver put meat on our table many times. I love that gun and still have it today. Mine was made in 1979.
I saw somewhere recently online, that the ruger medallion was a phoenix bird, not a eagle? What ever the feather is,I’m really thankful for my rugers. Great breakdown of these models!
I have always loved Ruger. They work, they are innovative, they are built like trucks, and God bless, as a company they make money. If only Colt would of understood that concept they would not be a CZ company.
Great historical video. The single action Ruger I always admired was the Bearcat. Question, does Ruger still return the old lockwork parts after conversion?
The old model 22 cylinders were not marked as being 22 magnum and they had flutes machined in the cylinder just like the 22 long rifle cylinder has. The first few years of New Model Single Sixes used old model cylinders up to about 1976 when they got their own cylinders and the 22 magnum was no longer fluted and they are marked 22 Win Mag and the 22 long rifle cylinder was no longer rebated. I own two old model 22 magnum cylinders and they are both have flutes and are un-marked as to bullet type. Enjoyed your video.
Thank you for all your insight on the Single Six. 👍

I have 2 of the old model 3 screws. A .22 with magnum cylinder and a .357 in 4 5/8 length. 2 of my favorite guns.
I love the work you do on these classic old guns
Great video thanks

And a 50th Anniversary BlackHawk in .44 magnum as well
