Where is the video for the slotted front rotors? Your videos are very helpful. Please keep working on this car
Wonderful information, thanks Kyle! Interested in FCP's future OE rotor creation for the W205.
Great video looks super easy I need to do mines
Thanks for this video.
Great video, and great job!
Please make a video on how to replace crankshaft sensor for w203 mercedes and which tools will be required.
Can you link the video for the cross-drilled front break set up. Thanks.
Can you do a video on a c43 amg 2017 front brake pads replacement please and show how to clear warming message afterwards.
I just entered the Mercedes Family with a 2019 C300 Base model. I enjoy doing minor maintenance on all my cars and videos like this makes it possible. Once parts come in, I will be doing a front-end brake job (experiencing pulsating) also Oil changes, Cabin air Filter and engine air filter. The videos available for engine air filter show filter on the passenger side, mine is on the driver's side. Do you know of any video available that shows the proper way to do this. I came across one, but not as detailed your videos. This video show when part is off already that doesn't help. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Job well done! Clever idea to add wear indicators on the rotors, will sell more rotors for sure but still helpful. Are the indicators set to show the minimum thickness when worn away?
Yes but they actually are completely flush when they're below the minimum spec. The OEM rotors have the minimum measurement spec printed on the hat of every rotor (this applies across all models and goes back for generations) if you want to measure them out. Another indicator is when you end up with a 1-2mm lip forming on the edge of the rotors. I always recommend you replace the rotors when the pads require replacement as the rotors are usually either already below minimum spec or within .6mm of the spec.
Do these discs float, as the hub area is pressed steel forming splines. The rotor proper is cast iron with splines.
If true, its so the disk can self align for no vibration
Any resetting needed via scan tool in these later c class models?
So if you replace one caliper. Should you replace the other one with oem match? Or is that a preference? Great video. Be doing this job tomorrow. Guess we will see if it's sport version or not. 😊 Sports version is like brembo and wilwood. Love the pins and pads out the back. Hot swapable!
If you have an older model and high mileage, replace both calipers at the same time. Heat and vibration effects everything in equal time.
Great video! Thanks. Do I need to put the front brakes in fitting position the same way I do when change the rear?
any possibilty of discussing direct injection and how to perform service on the w205?
So can I put akenbono ceramics pads on and change my rotors to slotted and drilled ?
Im still waiting for the video for the cross drilled rotors.🙄
Same - I'm assuming you've finished yours though - what were the differences? looks like the pads just come out the top like some other stuff I've serviced - anything "weird" to look out for?
No anti squeal paste on the rear of pads or is there a double sided sticker?
What was the use of those 4 bolts shown at 01:18 along with the brake pads? I did not see the guy installing them anywhere.
They replace the old bolts that hold the caliper on to the bracket. The new bolts should have anti-seize coating on the threads.
Was this Mercedes a C300 sport?
Is it the same for the c300 2019?
@@fcpeurobut is it like the same exact tools? Cause I don’t have them and plan to buy for a customer
Do I need to put a car in service mode when working on the front pads?
What kind of e socket to remove the sensor bracket
I think mine came off with a 12mm box end wrench(maybe it was a 14mm)
IMHO channel locks should be used in the farm on tractors not on cars....risk: if it slips /loses grip, it will round off the hex bolt/nut
There are many brake videos on UA-cam. This one is better than most.
