I have a 4080 and just leave transparency on high and max out all the other settings while disabling the other RT options. Gives the game a look of RT without RT enabled because the standard reflections look amazing, and transparency adds that RT look on mirrors, car windows, etc.
nvidia really nailed it with its features and efficiency. The 7900XTX almost consumes the same power but at same settings would probably be giving 20FPS or less. With optimised settings from the channel benchmarking and DLSS balanced should be definitely able to hit 4K 120+ FPS with path tracing. Also looking at VRAM approaching 16 Gigs, any 4K capable cards should have a minimum 16 to 20Gigs going forward. I cant belive they put 12Gig on a 4070Ti though technically nvidia targetted it as a 1440P card.
I agree, it's sad to see but I think Nvidia purposely made 80 series and lower cards slightly underpowered to push people as much as possible toward the 4090
The key word is dlss 3.5. Not Nvidia on its own. FSR 3.0 will bring the 7900xtx nearer to the 4080 with dlss 3.5. It won't get the fps of nvidia of course. And here were talking about a 4090. A fair comparison would be the 4080. Or lower - if you watch the prices. But all in all you're - of course - not wrong. Nvidia is doing great stuff. But it's hilarious, that so many people seem to have bought a 4090. The prices will still going up.
Without the use of DLSS and FG with everything maxed out, that is truly what you get, it does depend on the area with the forest being the most demanding.
22 fps at native 4K + RT on (close to) the fastest PC build commercially available today shows we're starting to see games outgrow the current gen of hardware already. Both Cyberpunk's native 4K Path Tracing and Avatar's "unobtanium" graphical preset can also utterly destroy the 4090. That's bonkers if you take cost into account.
And then DLSS gets enabled and then things ramp up. Still No where near framerates you can get in other games with the hardware. But impressive and the retracing is insane. Cyberpunk and avatar get good framerates with everything enabled at max settings. The 4090 is nowhere near its limits in 4K native.

Your 990 pro is not even half utilized, that is truly wasted money. Any motherboard that supports 1800x barely supports gen 4 m.2 let alone gen 5. Also why do you have such an expensive and new SSD when there rest of your machine is from 6 years ago?

There's a small improvement going from DDR4 to DDR5 but 32GB is just fine. I only have 64GB for other professional workloads
why only ~30fps at 4K? That seems low for a 4090 with a 14900k

I wonder what the fps is at 1440p max settings without RT
On average its 10-20 more with no DLSS and 30-40 with
