I have an all original '83 16750 "matt dial" that I purchased new in '83 at the now defunct China Fleet Club in Hong Kong (the old British Military Exchange). It was my one watch as a professional pilot for 30 years, and I wore it 24/7, 365 for the first 22 years. It was water tested in hot steamy showers every day, and has NEVER leaked. All original (dial, hands and bracelet) and one pilot owned, full set with everything! This is/was the true sleeper classic, since unless you look at the 12 and 24 four hand stack-up, you cannot tell it from a 1675. It now stays safe, worn for special occasions and my black dial Sky Dweller is my now go to pilot's (retirement) watch.
Thats so cool!!! Thanks for sharing! Would love to see pics of the watch if you ever want to share, I dig the one owner watches and the stories behind them! shoot me an email at info@craftandtailored.com
I love both dials but if I need to choose just one, I prefer the matte one. Between the current GMT and this GMT from 1983, I also prefer this model, the current one has too much shine for my liking. Perfect video and many thanks for sharing.
Already my friend! But it did go to a good home I can assure you! www.craftandtailored.com/products/1983-rolex-gmt-master-ref-16750-matte-dial-pepsi?_pos=11&_sid=17115b37b&_ss=r
Awesome watch, unfortunately the pricing has gone up so much that they are difficult to purchase these days. What is the jacket by the way? Looks cool.
Absolute love the vintage Rolex’ses - have ben hunting the right 1680 for a long time now - great video thank you. A quick and perhaps a bit strange question :) Where is you shirt from? - Super cool and it fits the vibe of a 1680’er vintage military sub perfect 😄.
Cam Barr mentions 1979 to 1984 as the production years for the GMT 16750. Most online sources I've seen have a very different production range of 1981 to 1988 for this transitional bridge between the 1675 and the next generation. Indeed, my 16750 dates, by case serial and clasp code, to 1981 which, based on my fairly extensive research, makes this the first of the 16750's limited production run. I'd love to see proof, such as a serial certificate or at least a case serial/clasp code, that shows the reference 16750 being produced or sold before 1981. If so, I'll stand to be corrected.
Not into vintages watches although I respect their legacy I have the new Pepsi oyster with the submariner they’re both my favorite Rolex’s Sports model
It depends on condition and if the watch is complete or not but the early matte dials are approaching the $20k range with glossy dials in the high $14k to mid $15k range. Hope that helps!
@@craftandtailored More Nautilus! Btw idk if there is a demand for this, but I constantly look through your app and I love reading stories on who these watches belonged to and their journey with specific people. Even if they aren’t famous, I love hearing who wore them and how they were attained. Love the channel!
You’re checking the “battery “ on a Rolex GMT II. Did you replace or see it? What did you , all mechanical ha!! You want to see my GMT1 1966 1675 model & look at the “battery”?
and papers can some one please tell me what it price s is today ? On the official papers the watch was bought for 750 dollar in 1982 , and i am the second owner now since
please, dont make this channel a sales store, it cheapens your personal brand so much. Come on! You are my favorite vintage watches youtuber... the moment you TRY to sell it the moment I will never do. Aan the other way around, when you dont sell I want all your watches. Life's a bitch. I love your leather jacket too
The definitive right there! Nothing beats those early 5 digits. Brilliant as always Cam, clips like these need to happen every day 🥃
Cheers, my dude! seems the world is opening up again hope we can have a hang soon!

Love that! Thanks for sharing!
Would you care to sell it?
@@Cat-lo7hl No, not interested. I've had it since new.
Closes I can get was a full b&p example 2004 16710. Good enough. Got it in 2017 right when the crazyness started to happen.
