I was going to this regardless, but was a little worried with the critic reviews. Was really hoping you would review this one Andy as I was more interested in your opinion. I have a better feeling about it now. Just can't take it seriously and just have fun. I like most of Matthew Vaughan's work so I'm optimistic.
A writer encounters her/his characters, sounds familiar, there a movie with Will Ferrell, although the first thing that came to mind was Supernatural, Chuck meeting Sam and Dean and why does he know everything about them. I might be off but with that description it reminded me of that.
I did worry at one point Sam was being a bit too Tom Cruise in a rom com, but he snapped out of that & was really good. BDH didn't quite pull off the end part, as they tried too hard to mirror characters clothes from her books & real life too much. 2nd A.. is more likely where Argyle, like Bond, comes from eg not only used by one person & hope more HC as both velvet & end...
If you want to see a Henry Cavil spy movie, wait The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, or just be ok with an 5 min intro. If you're ok watching BDH and SR for 2hrs +, then watch in theaters.
I think it has to do more with your preference, however, if you are on the fence I suggest at the theatre. Movies (especially like this one) are so much better on the big screen.
Andy, have you heard recent updates on stranger things? 2024 release of season 5 (final season) has been pushed to 2025 because of extra CGI/FX. I hope they take the extra year to rewrite the ending if the “plot twist” I heard is true. Very disappointing to see a unique original series end with something that happened in an iconic 1977 movie. Did the Duffer bros run out of new ideas?
The cat, "Chip" - actually belongs to the Vaugh family. Specifically his wife - Claudia Schiffer and their daughter. But Matthew did say carrying him around in the backpack was inspired by Taylor.
Argylle didn't cost 200 million, that amount was what Apple paid to M. Vaugh for the rights to broadcast the film on Apple TV.

I want to see this. It's an awesome cast. And Henry Cavill can do no wrong. He's a cat with nine lives.

Haven’t heard about it, 😳 but it certainly looks good with a great cast!

My question is it worth seeing in a theater or waiting till it comes out on Apple +, I'm on the fence.
How fast it comes to streaming usually is the answer to me.

This absolutely needs to be seen on the big screen. There are three great scenes at the end,two that i would describe as amazing.

The author has amnesia
Looks like a good movie.
I want to read the books
not sure a woman wrote Argylle (book 1) - it feels much more 'guy' than gal. ?
So, a movie about Alex Jones.
Thanks for the Spoilers
Absolute hot garbage of a movie. If you want a much better take on the idea go watch the Long kiss good night.
A Long Kiss Goodnight was a good movie.
This movie was awful
