I guess the problem for me is, how much does it matter if you use a resolution that is more realistic to what the average gamer would have 1440p. I guess the only thing this could prove is in the future if graphics cards get fast enough that this CPU will be less likely to bottle neck or to a lesser extent.
Please keep in mind people this is a 4090 at 1080p that all these reviewers are doing benchmarks with. Once at 2k or like myself 3.5k ultrawide 32:9 you won't see a difference. If you have a 4070 Ti you WILL not see a DIFFERENCE between these two cpus or even a 12600k at 1440p with a 4070 Ti. What most today tend to not notice is that the 4090 is THE TITAN card lineup that was put in the RTX gaming lineup. Reviewers did not show benchmarks with the Titan cards before the 4090 against GTX, RTX cards. The 4090 is A SERIOUS OUTLIER. Even the 9800X3D probably still isn't enough to push this card to it's max.

its fine and youll get top tier performance
but so as core ultras
Really urging to go from a ryzen 5 3600 to the 9800X3D. To pair with my current GPU 4080S. I wonder what kind of performance gain there is. Any chance you could do a comparison for these side by side?
Finally a chip that’s more optimized and configured for modern day components. Currently utilizing the 7800 with an RTX4080, just from the numbers I could tell the CPU was holding back GPU performance.
9800X3D + RTX 5090 will be a monster combo!!!
R.I.P. Intel
na, intel whitout 3d vcache, gives a similar perfomance...
Prices are little high of intel right now but they are good in productivity tasks overall like 245k which beats ryzen 5 and in someway 7 too in overall productivity tasks
@@nicolasgarcia253 What do you mean similar? The 7800X3D was already better in gaming than the 14900K and the new 285K is worse than the 14900K. Now with 9800X3D Intel really is in the dust in terms of gaming and they can't even hope to reach that efficiency without entirely changing the architecture.
@@ONLY_BHARATVAASI Yes, in productivity. But the Intel CPUs are also consuming much more power for that, even the 285K which is supposedly considered efficient and yet nowhere close to Ryzen level of efficiency.
Ironically, Intel has come to the point of only coming on top in productivity.
@@nicolasgarcia253 The 9800X3D at 1080P is on average 35% faster in games than the 285K according to Hardware Unboxed. How is that similar?
Ha that’s funny. $480 for the 9800x3d when scalpers have completely obliterated stock and are now selling for $800
Wow the 1% low improvement is brutal. 9800x3D FTW! Will be my next upgrade when the price normalizes.
I guess the problem for me is, how much does it matter if you use a resolution that is more realistic to what the average gamer would have 1440p. I guess the only thing this could prove is in the future if graphics cards get fast enough that this CPU will be less likely to bottle neck or to a lesser extent.
Waiting for that 9800X3D vs. 13900K comparison video.
Why? Obviously AMD will win by 15+ fps on everything.
Even the 9800X3D probably still isn't enough to push this card to it's max.
intel's future is uncertain
hopefully it gets cheaper
Intel have to split CPUs into productivity and gaming like AMD does and might have a chance.
9800x3d vs intel 285 👍🏻
Under 100W power usage and top tier performance
That's what efficiency means
Also the temperatures are so nice and it's air cooled
Finally they addressed the low % numbers. Now it's truly like an i9 for gaming.
7800X3D is still worth it, second best cpu in gaming
lower watt, lower price too
No need to upgrade if u have 7800x3d , still a very good chip
9800x3d need a stronger gpu (bottlenecking 4090 fr) but i think 10% Performance & 5°C cooler is very worth for gaming
wow.. the 1%low increase
Great temps, even with single-fan mid air cooler.
Thank you for test! Is there any plans to do the same for 1440p ?
@TestingGames can you test both Gigabyte and MSI's x3D BIOS settings that they claim that it improves performance on those CPUs please?
Crazy seeing how CPU bound the games are on ultra 1080p in some of these games. Curious to see 4k Ultra on something older like a 10900k vs a 9800x3d to see if theres a big performance leap, or if the gap closes when GPU bound.
Definitely a good uplift from my 7700x... it be here on Wednesday 😊
what program are you using to show these stats?
Impressive to say the least, Might have to buy my first AMD CPU come next CPU upgrade, Ive been with Intel since day 1 (mid 90s) ill want to upgrade in about 2 years from now so we'll see where Intel is at by then (currently running 13600K, upgraded from an i7 8700K in 2022).
Please, with what did you cool both CPU? I see 9800x3D all the time performing very nice with lower temps than 7800x3D
Could you please test The Finals, it's very CPU intensive and nobody has benchmarked it using the 9800x3d yet.
7800x3d was selling around $330. Best Gaming CPU at that price. No competition
Can we have a 4k test as well please. I know it will no doubt not make much difference between the two cpu's at that resolution, but it would still be interesting to see :)
Which would be the best pair with a 4070 Ti Super the 9800X3D or the 7800X3D?
stupid question... its always better to get the better performing parts
@@jigjigzacharias5038Someone mentioned that I’d need a better GPU (like the 4090 which is really expensive for me) if I go with the 9800X3D. I’m new to PCs, and I’m asking because I’m planning to build my first one.
@@jigjigzacharias5038 Nooooooooooo
that cpus works only on 1080P
if u ve 1440 p screen and rtx 40 series gpuı
5600x3d will be king for u
@@BananaBeach519Yeah also I'm gonna play at 1440p
@@jackie2-g8l play at 1440P isn't important for cpu, so take cheap one
Damn, what's up with Hogwarts? That shit's hungry.
AMD Ryzen 7 9800x3D is the new KING
The ultimate smooth experience, maximum smoothness with minimal input lag, best cpu for games ever, good job, amd.
Brazil:
7800x3d $525
9800x3d $785
A hard place to be a gamer
do the L nice and slowly
@igorrafael7429 yes, Lula is love, Lula is everything
Do the L and pay taxes
no need to upgrade from 7800X3D, still 9800X3D sold out everywhere xD
I can't wait to loose at CS2 at 700 FPS
The blood that run in Lisa Su family is simply genius, first u have Jen that found the world most valuable company, then you have Su saving AMD from brink of bankruptcy.
Now i am getting excited for Zen 6.
Can you do a 14900k vs 9800x3d in 4k? Curious what the difference in performance will be in msfs
If you're gaming at 4k please don't buy into the hype. they are barely negligible. In fact the 7950x3d beat in most cases as engines are starting to take advantage of more cores.
I'd be really nice to see the raw performance instead of, a bit useless at 1080p, DLSS boosted frames. Good vid though.
9800x3d arrived today ready for the new build
Are we going to get new cpu on 2025? Building new pc when windows 10 support ends.
